I, too had tried the RX-7 (most expensive version) I was 2 seconds off, but spent little time with it. Car has a traction problem. Looser than I like.

Damn, I suck. I was having an off night last night I guess. I ran about 15 laps last night in my Evo VI RS - same as JoniK's, except I didn't know about oil changes when I bought it, and I went semi-racing on the breathing system. Total of 429 hp.

Most of my laps were in the very low 1':24" range, with a best of 1':23.83". Those were clean laps with no more than 2 wheels off, even through the chicane at the bottom of the trough. I wasn't running that well. but I don't think I'll ever pull six more seconds out of it.

yea, you will be amazed how much you improve after you get to the difficult races later on (like GTAllstars in pro league). After that, hotlaps seem a breeze.
