hi i've been trying to get past this for 4 days now..

viper @ 900+ hp
saleen s7 @ 850+ hp
camaro lm @ 910+ hp
cadillac cien @ 950+ hp

my best lap is with s7 and the camaro both are around 1 min 32 sec

my settings for the saleen

spring rate 13.0/10
height 65/65
shock bound 4/6
shock rebound 5/7
camber angle 0/1
toe angle 0/0
stabilizers 6/7

initial torque 5
limited-slip accel 5
limited-slip decel 15

ballast weight 0
front/rear balance 0

brakes 3/3

asm oversteer 1
asm understeer 0
tcs 1

853hp & medium racing tires.. whats up with just 1:32? i don't think its my driving, that gay esperante & the 2j racecar always seem to keep their lines, no mistakes at all.

im lucky to even hold 2nd place right now :guilty:

1:32 on seattle

What is PD doing putting the 2J in this race? They include it in the AI field with the '63 Corvette. They've got to be kidding.

I got around this bit of absurdity by spending a million on the Team Oreca Viper. It brought up a very nice field of evenly-matched cars (C5-R, Camaro LM, GT40, GT LM, and another Oreca) on the Seattle track, and I used the stock Oreca to battle them throughout the race, winning by about two car lengths.

Getting a good race in GT4, like GT3, does take some tinkering, doesn't it?

i hear ya, im confused how those cars never seem to have to pit either, and they turn better than my car :(:(

the tires really seem to screech alot whenever i throttle from 1st gear- 3rd, anybody have a tip or something that i can decrease my lap time?

I beat that series with the CIEN. No power upgrades.
I did set it with the back end stiffer spring-wise than the front.
Rather suprisingly, the "tranny-trick" works...
I also did the "tranny-trick" then set the final drive ratio to something like 3.73
(do a search in the GT3 forums)
The trick is to brake late enough that you are slowing down in time to turn, but early enough that you aren't flying off the track, or into the walls.
The CIEN is way more than enough car for that series.

Okay, I have to ask: Was the Chaparral 2J in the races with you?
Yes, it was with me. I used the Corvette C5R and came in first place everytime by at least a half a lap. The Viper should be more then enough, since it's a better car then the Corvette. The New York was the hardest because the two long straights were perfect for the 2J. But, I would beat him on the many turns, so I still did pretty good.

I see your settings, and I think you should make the following changes to see if they help you.

F/R
spring rate 13.0/10 12.5/11.2
height 65/65 62/76
shock bound 4/6 4/3
shock rebound 5/7 8/6
camber angle 0/1 2.3/.6
toe angle 0/0 -1/-2
stabilizers 6/7 5/3

initial torque 5 25
limited-slip accel 5 50
limited-slip decel 15 60

ballast weight 0
front/rear balance 0

brakes 3/3 10/11

asm oversteer 1 0
asm understeer 0 0
tcs 1 0

Traction control makes you go a lot slower, so don't use any. Get use to the idea of controling oversteer with throtle control and proper driving habits. You'll be surprised how much faster you can go without it.

Yes it was, and it didn't finish well in any of the races. I believe that it was either third or fourth.
I won each race by a healthy percentage.
The trick is to bring the gear ratios down to a point where you can actually reach sixth gear. Then your acceleration will be more than adequate for the task.

I got a lap in Seattle in about 1:30 in the Viper GTR-S Team Ocera '00, tuned up to about the same as yours. I'm racing with Hard Racing Tyres, so you should have a better grip than I 💡
