2.4 million copies in 4 days, GT5 sales archives its sales objectives (Kotaku jp)

That's right,Gran Turismo 5 seems to be right behing mayor selling titles like COD MW2 and black ops,leading selling charts in both UK and Japan,in Japan it double the sells of PS3's and it leads its predecessor GT4 by 6% of sales worldwide,making 1.8 million sales in just two days,of course what Sony have in mind is accomplish 2.5 million sales by the end of the first week,and so far its seems so to be around 2.1 million at this date December 2nd,I know that a lot of people expected lower sales due to the reviews and how the game turn put to be,but seems seems like none of that matter since 9/10 people that I know already have GT5.

It will not take too much time until PD releases the figures for sales in the first week on the market,but they could be archiving their goal sales.

And on an aside note I want to point out that kotaku.com hasn't release the results of the consoletaisen or GT5 sales records,I wonder why?.

I can't believe it has already sold 2millions ? Although ratings is 85/100 the sales will still be good. If they add updates and content it will sell more

I've been watching GTPlanet forums for well over a year. I never post, hence it saying 'new member' still & this is exactly why I don't bother posting, there's so many fanboys it really dilutes any intelligent discussion.

I won't be surprised if this comment is either totally ignored or picked up by a troll.
 
PD already achived the cost of making this game from GT5p sales it sold 5 milions this game will do 10 milion easily in its life time this is GRAN TURISMO we are talking about

exactly the opposite for me, literally just 3-4 playing BO and the rest hammering away at the ring.

It's a perfectly valid point though, even if you disagree with the way it's worded. If his friends are all playing CoD:BO over GT5 then they just happen to be the kind of people that like FPS. It's not exactly a perfect insight on the average consumer.
 
Also the fact that at my gamestop when I picked it up in the morning, I was the only person there.....

I understand now why they didn't do a midnight release here.

I'm not saying anything negative, jeeze, over half the people on my friends lists have 400HP+ Mustangs and are part of my local forum. They are gear nuts and not playing gt5.

That sucks, out of 44 friends on my list. I had 30 friends playing GT5 doing photoshoots, highway racing on SSR7 or just doing A Spec and asking questions in the text chat.
 
I only know one person that bought GT5... and most all of my gaming friends did purchase GT4 when that was released. In my circles, it's not resonating.

Umm, you think one dude saying his friends list being dominated by COD is in any way shape or form proof it flopped in the US? LMAO. WOW. Thats got nothing to do with being a fanboy, thats just plain retarded.

I didn't actually express any opinions concerning GT5's sales there. Besides, this is exactly what I was talking about.
 
I think this proves no one reads reviews anymore, reviews mean nothing these days if you ask me. Podcasts, YouTube, Twitter etc no need for reviews!
 
I'm not saying the game sucks. I'm just saying, from what i'm seeing from being a hard core car guy and most of my friends and myself being actual racers, not just video game jockies... they aren't playing GT5. They're playing COD. And again. I was the ONLY fricken person that showed up opening morning to get my copy.

The only reviews that matter are user reviews, regular folk like you and me. Whenever I'm interested in a game thats already been out thats what I read. Best Buy and Amazon are actually some of the best sites for reviews because of this. Not joking, I'm dead serious.
 
wait black ops is considered a garbage game? Have any of you actually played it? It's very well programmed and extremely fun. Not nearly as many bugs as GT5 and it was made at fraction of the cost and time as GT5.

can't believe someone actually called COD garbage when 90% of people playing GT5 are disappointed.
 
No one is saying that COD BO is garbage,is just not right among the driving games community,besides CoD series have become quite repetitive.
 
Most of my friends/family bought black ops, i've yet to convince 1 of my friends to buy GT5. quite disapointed with nobody to race but myself, but its all good :)
