The finish line is a bit of a trick... its placement is so late on that final straight.

Yes, it surprises me every time!!!:dopey:

At the end of a good lap, I'll get on the final S/F straight and glance at my time and say to myself "I'm going to set a new lap record"

And then the S/F straight never ends and the seconds tick by............ and there goes my new lap record.:irked::yuck::D

My best lap so far is a decent 9:08.460, which put me 101st on the early Leaderboard.:)

I am using the over-worked Suzuki GSX-R/4.:P

See you on the tracks!

I did not realise it takes 10 minutes to get gold, so I am finish with this TT it is way to long. Going back to the online A-spec events.
Yep it's a long one alright. Wish it was just a few minutes as I'm right with the leader (my leader not the world leader) for the first few, even up to about 5 mins, then I blow it by going off track etc.

Used the XBow for a 9:58. 496pp taking it carefully around the track...didn't want to run it again and again for gold. Handles really well. Will probably give a few others cars a go as it was a fun challenge.

Took it really slow after leaving the track 3 times 7 minutes in. I wanted to get the gold out of the way so I went extra careful and did a 9:38 with the GSXR.
Now I can work on pushing it and lowering my time through the weekend.
Very fun track, alternating high speed (damn you right hand sweeper) and technical sectors, reminds me of the Nordschleife.

I hadn't played GT6 in a few months so it was my first time on the track.

10.35 in the fully modded Sambabus, that's about all she got in my hands.

Don't know what to try next, any suggestions?

Or do I succumb to the evil of the GSX-R/4?
I've gotten pretty close already with the RUF RGT and I'm not even a good driver! :)

There are no tunes posted here for the Suzuki GSX-R/4 01, so for those who may wish to use it and don't have one this is the tune I'm using which was a very good one in a previous event. It is not my tune although I have changed it a little from the original.
500PP , 210bhp , 710kg, f/rear weight dist' 49/51, power to weight 3.38.
Power .......engine tune stage 3 ..sports computer ..racing exhaust ..isometric exhaust manifold, that's all.
power limiter 93.0%.
Body ......no weight reductions. downforce @ r/20 ...ballast 70kg @ -12.
LSD ........7-6-15 triple plate clutch.
Gears. max speed 180km/h
1st 5210
2nd 3920
3rd 3060
4th 2505
5th 2093
6th 1785
final 3000 ..it was on 4300 I think but I changed it.

Suspension
height 99 - 97 (I might try changing that, sure I already did previously)
springs 4.40 - 6.20
dampers
3 - 3
4 - 4
6 - 6
no camber
toe
-0.03 0.15
brake balance 6 - 2

Any others out there?

I kept telling myself I wouldn't use this "cheater" car (and I didn't care for the way it handled on my previous tune anyway), but after a few hours of trying other cars and continuously getting disqualified or coming in 3-seconds short of the gold time, I gave in.

Wonderful tune. I haven't compared it to others, but it felt great to me. I kept waiting for the back end to slide out from under me but it never really got out of hand, even on the low-G turns. After another quick DQ I posted a 9:31 on my second try and left a lot of time still out there on the track. I could probably get down around a 9:10 with a few more tries.

Thumbs up and thanks

That look liked quite a fun event.

I used my old nsx (one of the standard model) with a nurburgring setup.

After 2 lap, I got a 9:16:897, pretty sure I can find an another 5 seconds easily but I don't really see the point since almost everybody use the suzuki.

I might give a try with one of the elise just for fun.

I'm convinced I can do this with my RUF RGT, but I was strongly considering using an NSX if the RGT gives me too much trouble. I think I've got an NSX Type-S that's already setup at 500 PP I could use, too. (Not sure if it's actually faster than my RUF RGT, though.)

The ruf was one of my favorite car at the 500pp range in gt5.

Unfortunaly in gt6, I don't really like it at 500pp, but I used to run it at 550pp.

I've got it down to, I think, 10:10 (first attempt with it was 10:20, but it wasn't a valid lap). I've been working to reduce that time, but I've had a few incidents with the guardrails, so I'm not there yet. ;) Still, I enjoy the way it drives well enough (though it can, admittedly, be a bit dicey at times—which I've endeavored to correct using weight reduction and ballast), and as Porschephile, I'm practically obligated to use it on principle. :)

Ahhhhhh!! I'll be having nightmares and flashbacks of this track tonight.

After 500kms of not laying down a clean lap with the Muira, I finally managed it.

So many restarts, so many laps wasted that were better than the final 1 posted but maybe it was my fault trying to keep up with a GSXR/4 blue line and over-driving the car. :boggled:

That's it for me tonight, signing off with a 9.14.624 - 0.5secs down on the Suzuki blue line of caveman_bob76

I tried the NSX LM prototype, no tuning and default driver aids, did a 9:38 first time. I just get Gold and stop but with tuning some good times are available.
I do not see the problem with the finish line as the lap time starts and finishes in the same spot.

The problem That I find is that the finish line in practice mode is right after the left hander and in the TT it is well down the track perhaps another 100 meters. I'm sure more than a few people out there have lifted off the throttle early only to discover that they are now coasting, and slowing down, while still on the clock.

Plus in the time rally the finish line is right after that left hander... still need gold in that third time trial too. I know that would be a different forum. ;)

On the subject of alternative cars, if you have money to spend and are looking for a classic, the Ferrari 250GT Berlinetta is an entertaining drive for gold and at this track, it feels like a time travel machine to the past. While in the bargain basement corner, the Isuzu Piazza XE can do a gold time. Another possible gold time car is the Corvette Convertible C1 '54 but it's hard work maintaining traction with all the torque in that car.

Has anyone tried the Lancia Stratos ? With a stable tune and an alien in it, it should do a good time.

9:50 in a 2014 Corvette, car handles the track pretty well...im sure it could be tuned to run alot faster....just learning to set up suspension so im sure veterans could do much better in it.

If anyone wants to try, below is the link for a awesome tune from Exeter Tuning by @shaunm80 for Sierra...

Only changes are Sports Hard and Final Gear (for me) - 3.500

Super easy gold, I did 9:39:xxx almost cruisin' the track...

Link

👍

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the car is Shelby Series One Super Charged '03

LOVE THIS TUNE, GOT GOLD ON MY FIRST TRY! 9:57:341

I recommend the Corvette Z06 (C5) '00 as a cheap, fun alternative to the GSX-R/4.

Got a 9:51.xx with minimal tuning/ no assists/ DS3. 👍

Took my '02 NSX Type R (Veronica) for this one. I feel that the key to this TT is to just relax and enjoy the track. It's a long course so there are large time differences between gold, silver, and bronze. I just sorta cruised the track, took it easy on the really twisty bits and opened up the throttle on the higher speed sections, and I was about 20 seconds faster than the gold time. Among my friends, I currently have the fastest time, beating out two of my GSX driving friends by 3 and 7 seconds respectively.

Again, just relax and enjoy the track. I picked one of my favorite cars to drive, cranked up Steely Dan, and just kinda casually passed the two Suzukis that darted ahead of me in the beginning.

There's a red and yellow object on the left side of the finish line, oh yeah the Spanish flag...

I agree with you there! Just chill, put on some tunes, and enjoy the drive. 10 minutes of good old fashioned cruising.

Got 10.10.000 with a 02 viper gts, maybe i can get gold in a second try but it wont be a competitive time, im looking for premium alternatives for the suzuki, even if I have one i refuse to try it for now.

Did it with my RUF RGT! :D And with no driver aids except ABS 1, automatic transmission, and the suggested line (which you actually have to ignore quite a bit).

My time was 9:56.789.

My tune, FWIW, is a mix of default settings and some of @praiano63's settings (see here).

Suspension is Fully Customizable, but with all the default settings except for setting the camber to 0.0/0.0.

Racing brakes, but still set to 5/5.

Transmission and LSD settings are from Praiano's tune.

I set the power to 96.0% and added 83 kg of ballast (in position -50) after doing a Stage 3 weight reduction. I figured a slightly more neutral weight distribution was worth the lower power/weight ratio.

It can be a little twitchy, but if even my middling skills can pull it off with this car, I'd bet most people can. :)

The big thing for me was making sure that I didn't hear tire squealing on either of the two long, sweeping, high-speed turns. Usually that was a sign of an impending crash. It felt wrong to be backing off the throttle so much and being so gentle with the brakes in those sections, but a crashed car generates no valid lap time, so I figured it was worth being cautious in those sections.

I'll admit, I was getting a bit nervous in some situations—I never knew if an unexpected crash was around the corner. But, really, it wasn't bad, and I was just being paranoid.

Good event! I enjoyed it.

Easy gold with a Ferrari 365 Gtb4 9:56.150 with atleast 6 seconds lost in mistakes and I could take some other seconds less in some corners

I can understand where you're coming from if the finish line is not where you were expecting. I have run this track in Arcede, free run and time attack etc and for me the finish line is in the same spot every time.
I do like this track and if you take it steady Gold is easily achievable. Good luck everyone.

this road is very close to my house, just 100 KM

9.10.920
not bad for an old man

Good time old fella, mind you, you have probably driven it a hundred times in a real car while many of us, well me anyway, have never driven it before.
But can you tell me what Malaga means please.

Malaga is a province of Andalucia, Spain, this road is in Malaga and Cadiz (another province), thanks for your interest

Don´t confuse Málaga with a similar sounding greek word @Dalone ;) the greek one is a swear word.

@Mcabro you said "this road..." but Circuito de la Sierra in GT is still mostly a fantasy track, right? Or would you say the course of the road is an accurate replication of the real roads around the reservoir (lake) of Zahara?

Sorry for off-topic.

Back on. I only set a time with my 450 PP Opel Corsa for now, 8 seconds away from gold. I will try to get gold with something like a stock Lotus Carlton later. I don´t like the GSX and I´m glad it seems to become a trend here to look for alternatives rather than simply picking the obligatory GSXs/2Ds, my friends leaderboards are still frequently full of them.
