I decided to try @RobertM525 's suggestion, so I broke out my RUF RGT and gave it a few trys.

After a few crashes, I've been able to run a respectable 9:30.588 lap.:)

Great fun! You have to be pretty gentle with the RGT, but it is a very nice drive.đź‘Ť

More time could be found if I could learn where it can be pushed and remember where I need to be extra gentle with the throttle and the steering to stay on the tarmac.

Update:
----------
After 50 miles of practice, I've been able to lower my lap time with the RUF RGT to 9:25.037:)

Another 50 miles and I've been able to lower my lap time with the RUF RGT to 9:21.080:)

See you on the tracks!

The GX-R isn't very fast. The most you can do is the weight reduction wich doesn't make it as fast as the times these people are getting. Yes I'm paranoid and a conspiracy theorist. And i don't care if i get kicmed out of these forums or not. To those that it applies. STOP ******* CHEATING!!!!!!!

I like trying the car I race online with in any Seasonal that I can.

Mini Cooper 1.3i '98 @ 435pp/135hp.

Managed a Silver with a time of 10:58.609.

Still trying with my beloved TVR Griffith 500! After trying almost stock it was too of a struggle and fully modified it with custom suspensions and Gearing. After a lot of km on track managed to create a very decent tune suited for my driving style. Almost did it yesterday but made a small mistake and that's it on Sierra.... Probably will need 1-2 laps but eventually I can do a time on 9:45's!! I will keep trying with it cause I hate the GSX/R... Remember the good old days of GT that you bought a cheap car and was struggling to modify it and go ahead of the competition. Clubman Cup anyone??

Have you never increased the power on a car and added ballast to keep the power that you added? My GSXR has 250hp and still only weighs 795kg. About 290bhp per ton power to weight ratio with my crap maths.

It's heavier than stock, but with tracks like this, you can keep the momentum up.

I'm the opposite of a conspiracy theorist. I like debunking them.

Cheating? No.

Try adding weight and increasing power instead.

There's been suspect car behaviour in the X2014 TT.

Don't say it's in this TT as well!!

Something about bigger width tyres giving higher grip levels.

I don't think there has been any cheating in THIS event. At least, not yet...

I'm looking through the World Leaderboard and XR_RACER_11, who is currently in 31st place, is most likely that BRUNOBLAK cheater. Both are from Brazil and BrunoBlak has been known to also use screen names like XR_BRUNOBLAK, so it wouldn't surprise me if that were him. If you see a sudden jump up the leaderboard by him, or any similar name from Brazil, it wouldn't shock me if the time were not an honest effort. Again, I have no proof that XR_RACER_11 is BRUNOBLAK, but I have a strong suspicion. If someone knows otherwise, please inform me and I will put down my pitchfork and remove the frown from my face... :grumpy: :D

Love this time trial. So far a 10'25" with a stock BTR. Still some room for improvement, but getting gold is going to be a challenge.

I managed to gold in a Stock BTR - took just over a hundred, knife edge, miles; but it was a great balance of knowing you can do it... but also managing to string together a full lap without overcooking it

911's don't indulge a driver who steps over the line with many second bites out of the cherry.

Mejor de las suertes.

There are no tunes posted here for the Suzuki GSX-R/4 01, so for those who may wish to use it and don't have one this is the tune I'm using which was a very good one in a previous event. It is not my tune although I have changed it a little from the original.

No tunes, how about a simple tune?Click here my post on the first page.
Did you click my spoiler button?

Is there a way to find out how many players have submitted a time to the online scoreboard in total? I want to know how far down I am :P

Sorry mate, never saw that, don't think I've ever seen it before. Thanks for bringing your tune to my attention though.
I was considering upping my ballast as I can stay with the top runners on my friends list (until I crash out by about the 6 minute mark usually) but in the straights they clearly have an advantage over me. Maybe more weight/power is the answer.

In my opinion, the reason why the Suzuki is faster with more weight and power at the same PP versus a lighter, less powerful one is because the heavier Suzuki benefits from the PP system calculation more. It is closer to the 900Kg mark which is where the PP system gives you the best power to weight ratio.

Ryk

Mejor de las suertes.

Improved with a valid 10'20" and even managed a 10'10", but alas, just one slight swipe of a barrier negated the time. Time to go back to work and try again.

I'm going to give this a try tomorrow, with either my 500pp Genesis Coupe or 500pp C4 ZR1'Beater' with a 47:53 weight balance (oddball tune found online - makes it quite fun to toss around).

Failing those 2 breaking the 10 min barrier, I'll find something else, even if I have to rebuild & tune it.

Park up, go & do something else for a while, then come back & finish a lap. You should be low enough on the leaderboard to scroll to the bottom. Of course this would need to be in an account that hasn't already set a faster time otherwise that faster time will not be replaced & you won't be ranked at the bottom.

I just wish this race was only about 4 or 5 minutes long. I have learned that much of the track quite well but so seldom get past the 5 minute mark it's like driving it for the first time every time I do.
Fact is I think it's a pretty good track, with a bit of everything, but just too long.
And I tried upping the ballast to 200kg (and the corresponding power) but didn't like the result.

And 'nowcontrol', how do I "post a link" to share the tune I have posted?

Go to the post with the tune, right click on the post number and 'copy link address' .. then go to where you want to post it, click

Aaahhh yes......so,so true haha

I was looking at the Nissan R390 road car last night.

autowp.ru_nissan_r390_gt1_road_version_2.jpg

It was looking comparable to the GSX/R-4 and the Muira in the PP/KG/BHP stakes?

Has anyone tried that car yet? I would but I've got a race tonight so probably won't have time.

Ah, yes. The gearbox tunes. I did not use a gearbox tune, with my tune there are some long parts i can keep full speed while turning, if i used a gearbox tune from someone else, i would not make those corners without braking.:boggled:
Problem is, i still use automatic transmission.:dunce:
Hahahaha, and crashing, yes me to, but that's because i didn't know the track properly.
I even did a spin out after 8 minutes and had to start again.:banghead:

Tell me about it :banghead:
I know the first half of the track perfectly , because thats all i can do :lol: I keep crashing and then i have to restart

I can't concentrate for that long:crazy:
here's me thinking that this would be way easier than the Red Bull.......Wrong!! I'm struggling to finish a lap :ill:
Well I mean struggling to complete a hot lap that is... its easy if you are happy with a 9:40 to 9:50 but very hard if you try for sub 9:30 :ouch:
