200-250 unique models instead of 800??

This comes from a review and it really creeps me if is true. I always though that GT PSP has all the GT4 cars plus a few new ones but according to this theres "only" 200-250 unique cars, which could mean that different colors are counted as individual cars. :nervous:

The game boasts a total of 800 cars, but only 200-250 of those are actually unique models. And there are 35 tracks, with a total of 70 different layouts and variations

Anyone knows about this and hopelly can deny it?

Well, the gametrailers review which was posted here mentions that there are not 800 individual cars in the game, as in two different paint schemes on the Ford GT count as two cars for instance. I don't know if that is the same for all cars and all colors, but it might be.

GT4 didn't have anywhere near 700 unique models, and opinion varies greatly as to what constitutes a "unique" model anyways. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

That depends on the point of view, for example if you have a car with 2 diferent racing liveries to me thats counts as 2 cars, same goes if you we pick the Celica S205 with or without turbo (different bonnet), theres some minnor changes but still to me counts as 2 different cars (GT is notorious for doing things like this, but i dont mind having all the Skyline family for example).
But if they are counting the Ford GT in blue with stripes and a white one as 2 different cars then is really not ok because is just a lame tactic to fool people into believing theres 800 cars.

its gt so there will be a lot of asian cars duplicates which are almost the same (not totally though). But still there will be a lot of different cars :) so no need to worry.

why do you make pointless threader? when you alone know that is not truth what you ask? here is link with 601 cars from honda etc.. in game is every car colour count but there is more then 4000 cars with colour.. so that commfirm more then 800+ cars http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1js4zLsT0NQ

I didnt knew, i remeber watching time ago but trying to catch the manufacters and what Ferraris are in, i didnt notice the numbers below, so why are you tell me that i ask something that i already know?

Glad to see that both reviews are wrong then.

Dont sweat it Paladin. This thread will probably clear the air of the cars available in GT PSP.

800+ Different cars, not including colors....

i heard from somewhere, i can remember now, but it was from GTplanet.

That the cars at the dealership are available only in the colours shown in the showroom, so that's why Honda had 601 cars, because there were 601 cars available but many of them were probably the same models only in different colours. Overall exluding colours, there are 800+ cars in GTPSP.

A "special edition" color counts as a separate car, because in real-life, those models are sold in limited numbers compared to other cars of the same model, even if they are mechanically the same.

I'd like to note, also, that between racing cars... race livery isn't the only thing that changes. If you have two Skylines from two different teams, there will be a whole host of mechanical differences under the skin.

Yes... not really 800... but does it really matter? Having only driven 90% (not bothering to drive every single one of the various Miata special editions) of the available unique cars in GT4, I'm not really bothered... there will still be enough variety that you won't mind at all.
