I think the digital gauges are unique, I guess im fine with the gauges but yeah its a nice car over all it would look so sexy with a nice clean bodykit.

I've not found a body kit that improves on its looks. Even the Honda bolt ons don't make for much of an improvement. The only thing I find attractive now is the trunk spoiler (not the new wing). I'd also get the titanium shifter (:

I glad to see that they havent monkeyed with the original shape too much ala Supra/Skyline

The only improvements I question are the design of the new rims (dig 17", don't dig 10-spoke) and the rear bumper is a bit over styled. I still like both, but they seem overdone.

I agree on the rear. I much preferred the old version with the blacked out valance. This rear bumper seems very 206 GTi-ish.

They ruined the front end. No more character. And that digital dash leaves a bit to be desired, namely guages.

ruined the front only? more like the whole car... not that the s2000 or any other honda were great ever.

More pictures

The new stereo which has an optional XM tuner - most excellent. Still wish it had an Mp3 CD player though.

Some interior schemes that I'd like to see produced.

I'm still bit undecided about the new S2000 engine, but I think its for the better. The additional torque, I would imagine, is welcomed by the S2000 fans/owners. One thing that was lovely though about the little four cylinder is it's 9000 RPM redline.

A question about the redline though. Is 9000 RPM the redline, or the fuel cut-off? Can you get to 9000 RPMs (I've also heard 8900, same difference though) before it bounces off the rev limiter? And isn't the rev limiter basically a fuel cut-off? I'm so confused.

As for the styling, I think the interior would look a lot better if the floor remained black, instead of going with the seat color. The outside basically looks the same. Nothing for the worse or better.

It redlined at 9000 and hit a rev limiter at 9200 I believe. There are only a few red bars in the old dash. The new one redlines at 8000 and rev limits at 8900 I believe.

The additional torque provides more power at lower speeds and a bit smoother power arch. I read a great review on Temple of VTEC that a staff writer wrote. He owns a 2000 model and Honda sent them a 2004 to do ac omparison with. It's really good. He points out the major advantages and says nearly all the changes are improvements. The only thing he misses is the extra 1000 rpm to play with, but for performance it's better in the new car.

You guys are pretty much in agreence on the digital gauges. I go back and forth myself. I think it's really clean the way they're done, but I can understand having that needle swinging around. It just feels right. A light bar moving across the dash doesn't have the same "HOLY MACRAL LOOK AT THAT POWER!" feeling to it.

I'm all about gauges. Digital can be cool sometimes and is a nice change sometimes. That bar quickly rising just gives you that feeling of speed. The digital gauges on the new S2K are indeed crisp and nice, but I would have liked it more if it were to have the gauges of past.

Why is it that cars look better with longer license plates? Perhaps because the have the ability to fully spell "LOUDMUSIC" ? We get a stinking seven characters in Arkansas. That's not enough!

Loud, what's the story with those interior shots? Are they considering doing them in those colors, or are those just some photoshops someone from S2000.com did? If they had a Gran Prix White '04 with that blue interior I'd buy one tomorrow.

Oh my gosh that would rock! But I promised myself a long time ago I'll never own a red or white car.

They are Photoshop jobs. The colors have been announced and they're essentially just minor revisions from the previous years. They did, however, go back to the original white with tan interior - formerly black interior.

What I want is a dark blue exterior with dark gray interior. I'll never get my way, though.

Well I really don't see too much difference from the later models to the 2004. But hey, why change a good thing. The only thing I would have hoped for is a lot more torque. I think it was Car and Driver did a test where they did a 0-60 time test shifting at the redline and then shifting at where most cars do around 5500-6000 rpm's. when they shifted at 5500 it took almost 17 sec. to get to 60 mph

AMAZING! So you're telling me if you take a car and drive it like you're not supposed to it won't perform like they say it will? I'm dumb-founded.
