is it a new koenigsegg model or the final version of the one we saw for a few years?

For history in the making tho, sorry but it's already been done... dauer 962 road car... 0-100 in 2.7s and top speed over 400 km/h

The Dauer and Schuppan 962s are not production cars. The record is still the McLaren F1 at 238mph.

This is the second model available from Koenigsegg (not Koenigseqq). Their original model is the CC8S, which features a 650hp Supercharged V8 for around 230mph. This CCR is an even faster version with a better supercharger for 800hp and about 245mph top speed. The aero has been tuned a bit and the design cleaned up a bit.

I should also point out that the CC8S now has broken the McLaren F1's record for the most powerful production car ever. The CCR will soon break that record after the production gets started, although the Bugatti EB16/4 Veyron will probably take that away soon after (if they ever get that off the line...)
 
Differences between the CC8S and CCR besides its more powerful engine:

- Restyled side air intakes
- Restyled front splitter
- Larger front headlights
- Rear vents
- Larger front wheels

So in other words, the changes are minimal, the car itself was already a stunning achievement, they merely made it faster.
 
I watched the gumball rally 2003 DVD and the Koenigsegg was the biggest pain in the ass there. The guy bought it and the car fell apart atleast twice a day. leaking oil, breaking hoses, 2 clutches, it was horrible! He had to have a repair crew follow him across the entire country just to complete the race. He was really pissed about it and rightfully so.

And plus, the daur 962 was probably using slick racing tires while the Koenigsegg has to use road tires.
 
the 962 was an absolute beast, no one can say that it isnt one of the if not the fastest road/track car ever. however the 962 didnt have the comfort nor the style of the ccr. when it comes to raw and rugged though, the 962 wins hands down over the ccr.
 
The Dauer is also a race car made to be street legal. I'd be willing to bet that if Toyota actually took their GT-One road car and tested it, it'd obliterate the Dauer 962.

However the point remains, the Dauer 962 is not a production car.
 
Am I the only one who thinks that the Koenigsegg is actually pretty fugly. It just doesn't look right to me :odd: IMO. Though stupidly impressive stats. They should take it to Le Mans. That'd give that new Masserraitti(sp?) a run for it's money.
 
I thought they were going to go for an all out assult at LeMans this year with the new car?
It'd be a bit strange to develop a new car just the FIA GT's....
Hw about next year? I know Aston are hoping to attack LeMans next year along with Lotus.
 
Lotus isn't entering LeMans (at least not the factory, merely a private team running an outdated Elise GT1).

The Maserati can run LeMans but it'd be penalized for not having enough road going versions. FIA GT only requires 25 cars, but for LeMans you'd need more. Running a weight penalty would make the MCC uncompetitive and hence pointless.
 
How many road cars does a manufacturer need to run a car at Le Mans?
I also heard that they're going to run it in 2005 when they've made a couple. Maybe not......
It still always threw me why Fiat agreed to let both Ferrari and Masserrati (sp?) in GT racing, or has the official factory works Ferrari entries been pulled. I mean I presuming they're both funded by Fiat aren't they?
 
I believe the requirement is for 20 road cars for every 1 race car you run at LeMans. Maserati would more then likely run more then 1 car, and since they're only building 25, it'd be penalized.

The Prodrive Ferraris are not factory efforts, they are merely factory supported. If it were a Ferrari effort, they'd say "Scuderia Ferrari", not Prodrive.

So in order to race at Le Mans a manufacturer has to build 20 cars a year?Or is it to have 20 different models?
Anyway,if that's the case then how come the Dome(Racing for Holland) was allowed to race at Le Mans?I have never seen a car from Dome except that car in GT Concept.
And i bet there are a few more teams that have no production cars.
 
It depends on the class, the LMP classes don't need any road cars, the GTS class does, you need so many cars made to enter that, they have to be similar to the race versio, same height and I'm not sure on the rules for drive train, the race cars have to be 2wd, but you see cars like the Murcielago which is 4wd being turned into a Rwd GTS car, but there is a Rwd Murcielago on the way, but the race car will race before that arrives. The number of cars to allow you to enter GTS class is 25 of the road version of the race car but if it's close to the 25 mark which usually means the car was built with racing in mind like the Maserati MC12 there are certain restrictions made to level up the field. The old Dome that raced was under different rules to todays LeMans, then you could race a car if he road versions were on the way, but the Dome failed as both a race car and a road car, now it races under the LMP675 class I think.

20 exact models of the same car. For instance, TVR Tuscan T400Rs have to have 40 constructed models to run 2 cars, yet they had around 30 or so by LeMans 2003, and hence had to run 1 car with a weight penalty.

This rule does not apply to LMP classes, so it doesn't matter for Racing for Holland or any other LMP team.
