Well now that you mention it, by the picture in question, I would agree with you and say that the wing does look pretty low.

It seems Williams have taken a similar design with their front wing as BAR, at least that is what my first impressions say. Another thing I noticed and for no particular reason really is that the front nose is pretty sleek.

WTF? The insert function is not working! :(

What do you think about the speeds in the Formula One? I think that the speed will increase because the engines will run with more than 20000 upm so you can gain more speed on the straights and don't have to push hard in the corners. That could reduce tyre wear.

What do you think of it?

Hi gt4005,welcome to GTP.

The top speed will definetly be higher than last year.The engines are pretty much equal if not better than last years engines plus the cars have less downforce.Williams said that their top speed at Monza (wich was tested in a simulator) will be around 375 km/h this year.If i'm not mistaken that would be 10 km/h faster than last year.
The lap times will be a bit slower i think.

HI GTChamp2003,

thnx for your greeting.

Wow, that's really phenomenal! I hope this year will be more exciting than last year. I'm searching for some vids of the new F1 cars.

Well, I know 1 thing: If Ferrari will be As dominant As last year, I'm gonna quit watching F1 👎

BTW: That Ferrari front wing is copied from BMW-Williams and it won't work AND it's ugly!!!!PUT it away!!!

@Pink the Floyd.

You're right. If ferrari will be so dominant I'll drive my RC-Car. That's more fun than watch Formula Boring.

👍

I agree with you there pal!

Let's make a RC-Car Competition, much more competition racing then F1 👍

@PtF

What kind of RC-CAR do you drive? I'm driving a 1:10 electro powered brushless car. It's so awesome! You can bother some nitro drivers with it :)

And you can meet a lot of people when you're a rc-car driver.

Whowowow, I'm not a pro in this you know :)

Sorry, this won't be updated for 3 weeks, that will be the next time I come online.

Back on topic...
Those rear wing endplates on the Williams look a lot longer and go further back then last year. Is that part of the regs or are they just increasing it so there is more room for sponsors?

Blake
Ferrari have revealed a new nose and it's very freaky. I'm actually curious if it's even legal....Anyway, without further ado:

Blake
That piece will break off if it just touches the track.

Haha. Last year Williams went for a wide nose. This year they are going for a tall one.

It's amazing how all of the teams think of the same ideas to boost the perforemance of the cars, at the same time. I mean. Both Williams and Ferrari have got low down rear wings.

the lap times will be a lot slower this year. with the new aero regulations and especially tyre regulations, expect lap times to be back around 6 seconds slower or odd. the tyres now have to last 350km, and the drop in aero downforce is about 25%. add for a lot less grip on the corners. plus with the engines having to alst 2 race weekends, speeds will be knocked back a bit. it just adds up for exciting racing

I thought the engine size was reduced too??? I thought that they go down to v8's this season??? Or is that a thing that'll be introduced when Fergie darn well feels like it.

The 2.4L V8s are being introduced in 2006, not 2005.

Red Bull have unveiled their new car,the RB1.Below are some shots.

They made it look like a typical Indy Car with a crappy paintjob like that - bastards.

@PtF

You're absolutely right. But remember. Most of the teams (renault also) are using such a bulge to compensate the less downforce because of the higher front wing.

But I've to admit that ferraris solution isn't that clever. Just imagine Michael drives through the gravel because of a mistake. The front construction would be damaged.

Hey it looks fine for a low level team. It would have been interesting if they'd gone with a bright pink all over paintjob though. :)
