Wow what a game. Definately one of the better games this season I've watched. It was back and forth and I wouldn't of been surprised to see either team win. Thank goodness it was the Mavs. :sly:

I missed it, though I hear we won in overtime by Dirk making 3 free throws.

Correct?

Whoo, another close game tonight.

But we pulled through! Rockets may be a challenge though.

Phoenix still behind us with a 9-game winning streak so far. Lakers fall to 6th, while San Antonio remains 3rd.

Detroit falls to 3rd, Orlando up to 2nd, and Cleveland clinches 1st. Miami has moved to 8th.

Its just crazy that we can't seem to shake Phoenix. I forsee a good 7-game western conference championship series. ... With the Mavs winning of course.

Phoenix is good, man. It's not crazy. Final four for the Western Conference is going to be so good this year. Very exciting. 👍

The Mavs-Rockets game is the weekly game on TV this week so I'll be watching it. Anyone got any tips? I'm thinking of putting on a sneaky bet. :-)

3 game winning streak...ok i feel confident enough in the Heat now to start using their avatars again. :D

I think Yao Ming is still out. No brainer, then!

Oh, you fair weather fan! :D Look at how my team's doing, then look at my avatar. :sly:

But aren't the rockets 9-2 without Yao? I think they're on a 5 game winning streak, I might go for the outsiders, especially because they'll be pumped for the derby game!:)

Houston are on a 4 game streak. McGrady is what will challenge the Mavs mainly. Yao will be out for quite a while do a broken leg.

And Lakers have replaced Houston as 5th now. I still think Phoenix is on a role. They're playing more games than us, with a 10 streak right now, and might easily pass us. San Antonio though 3rd, and a bit behind.

I had no idea that they were playing that well without Yao, but my money would be on Dallas, regardless. Unless the, 9-2 strech included the Dallas defeat, of course. ;)

I've put money on Dallas to win, and also for there to be more than 180pts in the game. I think they're pretty safe bets and I'm looking forward to the game!

Unless Dallas or T-Mac show up flat or something, sounds like a great bet. 👍

I'd guess more than 210pts in this game. And my prediction (I'm 1 for 2?)

Houston: 104
Dallas: 108

Dirk with 32/10
Howard with 24/8

McGrady with 29/7

McGrady apparently is also the one with problems as he now has back spams returning.

Anyways, Dallas will now upset Houston's 4 game win streak and move up to a 5 game streak.

Now, all us Mavs fans need to hope the Rockets can stop the Suns tomorrow night to upset their 10 game streak.

With McGrady anything's possible. And the Suns should be worried, this loss could piss of the Rockets...and that could be dangerous. Utah and Houston are real dangerous teams for the likes of Dallas, San Antonio, and Phoenix.

Oh and I was a little off on a few of those stat/score predictions. But at least I got the Mavs score and Dirk's rebounds right. lol

*edit*
Oh and Mavs fans how important of a defender is Devean George? I mean Jesus H Christ that man has some sticky defense.

Esp. McGrady. He's not out by any means, he was just having some problems. Given the loss, he'll probably come over it by any means and try to defeat the Suns tomorrow night.

And I love the Suns, and I love all 3 Texas teams, but right now, the Suns are too close to knocking us off our well-deserved 1st place division. BTW, the Lakers play the Spurs tomorrow, and if we're lucky, the Spurs will hopefully, kill the Lakers' morale.

I predict we hit 60 wins/ under 20 losses by the end of the year.

I'd rather win less games than Phoenix and go into the playoffs hot than win the most games in the NBA and fall flat on our face in round 1. Round 1 in the west isn't anything to sneeze at...it is not exactly easy.

Big trade between the Warriors and the Pacers today:
WISH-TV
INDIANAPOLIS - The Pacers have made a major trade involving key Pacers players.

The Indiana Pacers have agreed to trade Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Sarunas Jasikevicius and Josh Powell to the Golden State Warriors for Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod.
http://www.wishtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=5951376
I used to like the Pacers a lot, but since Fred Jones left, I haven't really rooted for them that much. Harrington could thrive in Golden State's uptempo offense, Jackson, I'm just glad he's gone. Jackson used to be great for the Spurs, but he's been a read headache in Indiana with his off-court issues.

In return, Pacers get Dunleavy, who I also don't care for, but for different reason. He is another overrated Duke player, who happens to be...... I won't go there. He is not a bad role-player, but no second, or even a third option player. But it will still be interesting to see how he does on the new system, Carlisle is a very good coach. Almost forgot, too bad Indiana had to give up Jasikevicius. I really liked him.

Too bad that trade won't improve either team as it will take too long for the new players to gel with the current roster and coaching style. Wait until next year and Golden State might be a good solid 8th or 7th seed.

Well, shouldn't be too hard since I heard Suns won against the Rockets making it an 11 game streak.

We play the Lakers though tonight, and I just hope we can pull off a win.

My nightly game predictions...get them while they're hot.

Lakers 98
Dallas 101

Dirk: 28/12
Howard: 26/10
Terry: 22/7(ast)

Kobe: 33/8

What an absolute slaughter of one of the best teams in the NBA last night.

Good game 1st and 2nd QTRs, but 3rd QTR, Terry and the Mavs blew the Lakers away!

Lakers got blown out, huh? I heard that they beat the Spurs the other night? Dallas is awesome right now.

Blazers lost a close one against the Suns, tonight. Again, NBA officiating, what a joke. Granted, Suns are veteran team, Blazers, full of young players, but that shouldn't matter. Call 'em like they are! When officials can't call things without double standards, the league loses credibility with me. Blazers coach McMillan is my MVP for not getting kicked out of the game tonight.

These blind-as-a-bat officials even caused the funniest moment in the NBA this year, when Steve Nash tried to intentionally foul Jarrett Jack, and the official refused to call it. I was like, you've got to be kidding me! It was hilarious as even Nash freaked out, looking for the official to make the call. Official just swallowed the whistle, literally just few feet away, looking directly at the play. It wasn't a hold on a ball or anything questionable like that either. It was a foul on the play.

I'm not going to sit here and claim that the Blazers would have won tonight, if it wasn't for the BS officiating. But in the game that was decided by just five points, I gotta wonder how much difference would a fair officiating might have made?

Edit: Ah, he did get caught talking smack. :
Blazers Coach Nate McMillan
The officials are basically telling us they don't see what I see," Portland coach Nate McMillan said. "It's been that way for a number of games. It seems to be that way when we play teams such as Phoenix, Miami and Cleveland. That's unbelievable, but what can you do?
And he's right. Most frustrating one's been on the layups. I think it was our forward Udoka, tonight. Marion or somebody goes for the block. Gets everything except for the ball itself. Udoka is hit so hard, you hear that "splat" when he's thrown to the floor. Absolutely no call. Brandon Roy, he's been knocked down so much, he'll be out for season pretty soon, but he hasn't been able to buy a call either.

Both offensively and defensively, NBA officials has made sure that officiating went against the Blazers in the last few games. Some calls or no-calls are so bad, all I, along with the commentators can do is laugh. Maybe the NBA is trying to able us to draft Greg Oden. If that happens, I'll forgive you, David Stern. ;)

Yea, I'm affraid of ANY western conference team that gets into the Finals if the Heat are back in it. It will be a foul calling fest going Wade's way I'd imagine. Again.

Oh and here's the current standings. http://www.nba.com/standings/team_record_comparison/conferenceNew_Std_Cnf.html

Kind of sad that the East's best team is finishing only in the 7th seed in the West. 59% winning percentage is the best the East can do? The East needs all the help it can get apparently.

I see Detroit is still holding onto the Top 3, but barely, and that Washington has knocked the Cleveland team out of first. However, Miami...a bit down there with 18-21. Can't see them quite making the Finals with such a poor year.

I can't wait until tomorrow when Shaq comes back and plays against our Mavs. We will win easily.

Dallas has enough star players though. Granted, I don't think anyone in the Mav's uniform, including Nowitzki, demands as much respect(this word makes me laugh) from the officials as Wade does. But, if the Mavs as a team focus on a very aggressive offense, even if little bit out of control, I think the officials would be forced to call some fouls against the defense.

Key to the Mavs this year: They've got to turn up the intensity in their play. Series of bad calls just took the fight out of them last year. Hopefully, they have learned their lesson and know what to do, if they should encounter similar situations.

Wade doesn't deserve any respect. Not many people here in Texas really knew about him. When you said Miami, it was Shaq. But now that Wade "won it" for Miami, he's the star. Which is funny considering that after the finals, all I could read about was Shaq (wtf did he do?) and Wade. I didn't see any credit given to the other players at all, lucky if I saw a paragraph mention them unless it was "Wade and the Heat."

Terry and Howard though are becoming a famous Big 3 w/ Dirk right now, and with Terry's 3s, Howard's aggressive playing, and Dirk's fade aways, they could easily pose a threat to Miami.

And of course, Shaq will probably still stink at Free Throws.
