Lakers at Rockets tonight here in Houston. No Lamar Odom for the Lakers because of some incident that recently occured in another game. Meanwhile, the Suns lost last night against Dallas. Those trades and everything have just really crippled the Suns. It's not impossible they can still make the playoffs, but it's looking a lot less likely that they'll do so.

Odom was suspended for getting involved in an altercation after a flagrant foul called on Trevor Ariza for crashing hard into Brandon Roy the other night in Portland.

The Suns still have a chance, they have 18 games left, they can get on a hot streak and Dallas can start a losing streak and the battle for 8th in the west can get interesting.

Lakers owned the Rockets in the second half despite leading by about 14 points at the half. Either we didn't play like a team that wants to advance far into the playoffs, or the Lakers were just too damn good.

Rockets lose 102-96 and saw their 12-game home winning streak snapped. Whether we start a new winning streak or continue our losing streak depends on how we do in Charlotte on Friday night. Meanwhile, one of the matches for Thursday night is Cleveland at Phoenix. I'd really be surprised if the Suns lose by nothing more than five, or if they somehow beat the Cavs.

In other news, congratulations to Orlando in clinching a playoff spot by smashing Chicago.

Tonight's TNT matches:

* Lakers at Spurs (Game 1)
* Cavaliers at Suns (Game 2)

Enjoy tonight's games!

Here are the results from Thursday night:

* Los Angeles Lakers at San Antonio Spurs (102-95; Los Angeles Lakers)
* Cleveland Cavaliers at Phoenix Suns (119-111; Cleveland Cavaliers)

I'll be watching to see if my Rockets can take down Charlotte on the road. We just have to keep on winning, especially the games we know we can win. And by the way, I believe Los Angeles clinched a playoff spot. That's all.

The Rockets surived in Charlotte 91-86. The big story was Yao Ming banking a three-point shot. That video is actually a Rising Video. I had to find the video on Google because I'm so G:censored:damed sick of all the "Chris Brown Hit By _____" videos. So here it is on YouTube:

Tonight, my Rockets will host the Spurs. We're a 1/2 or 1.5 game back of San Antonio in the Southwest Division. A win here will help our cause and move us up a bit more up the ladder.

Now a highlight of two other teams. Earlier today, the Miami Heat hosted the Utah Jazz and beat them 140-129 in triple overtime. D-Wade came up big with 50 points to lead the Heat by the Jazz. It's good for me because I hope my Rockets don't have to play Utah or San Antonio in the first round.

Enjoy tonight's games!

Well, the Rockets just lost 88-85 to the Suns. It wasn't like a game we could have won, just a tough loss. Up next for my boys... AT New Orleans on Monday. Damn!

Even with March Madness determined for 2009, there's still a lot of NBA action about to get set. I don't know why they call it the Big Easy, but it WON'T be an easy game for my Rockets when they hit the road to play the New Orleans Hornets. The Rockets need to keep hustling and keep on scoring. They've been banged up, but they still have to play like they want it more than the other team. Let's hope the Rockets can get the job done in New Orleans tonight.

Enjoy tonight's games!

Rockets sprayed themselves in insect repellent and warded off the New Orleans Hornets 95-84. Great win for the Rockets!

My thoughts and prayers and speedy recovery wishes go out to my man Carl Landry. He was shot in one of his calves and had a dislocated finger coming home after winning in New Orleans last night. He'll be out for about one to three weeks to try to recover. This is just a sad incident, and I'm PERFECTLY glad he's alright.

No Kevin Harlan commentary tonight for NBA action, as he's doing NCAA men's tournament action. Currently doing Northern Iowa vs. Purdue. If you're doing brackets, it's currently 48-42 in favor of Purdue with 7:10 left in the game.

The NBA action has been dormant since most people are following March Madness. My Rockets beat Minnesota at home in a rout on Friday. Earlier today, they knocked off San Antonio at their house. Next for my Rockets... a chance at revenge at Utah.

Good luck, boys... might need it.

March Madness continues tonight with the Sweet Sixteen. However, here are tonight's NBA action on TNT:

* Miami Heat at Chicago Bulls
* Phoenix Suns at Portland Trail Blazers/Trailblazers/Blazers

Enjoy tonight's games while checking on your brackets!

My Rockets are going backwards. They lost at Phoenix, then a half-hour ago at Los Angeles. The West is tough, but you need to play tougher if you're going to survive in the Western Conference. They just can't keep slipping up if they expect to go far into the playoffs. NOT AT ALL!

Up next, back home to take on Portland on Sunday.

Suns are 3.5 back of the Mavs after beating the Kings last night.

Big, big, big game tomorrow on ABC, Cavs and Suns.

As a friend, I hope your Suns go into the playoffs. If the playoffs started right now, we'd be the #5 seed against #4 seed Portland (better than Utah or San Antonio, but still pick-your-poison).

Philadelphia clinched a playoff spot. Congrats to the 76ers.

San Antonio Spurs Manu Ginobili is done for the rest of the season 7 games left .. and all of the playoffs. Now has a stress fracture on his Right ankle.. Remember that he had surgery on his left ankle this past summer. Now hes most likely has to get surgery on his right ankle now. The local tv is saying "no chance for championship this year"

Yes hes a great player but... one person does not win you a championship.

Tonight's NBA matches:

* Philadelphia at Chicago
* Denver at LA (Lakers)
* Houston at Sacromento <<< not showing on TNT

Enjoy tonight's games!

Well last night Dallas clinched the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western conference blowing out the Utah Jazz.

No playoffs for the Suns this year. :(

My Rockets dethroned the Kings 115-98(?) out in Sacromento. We're staying in California tomorrow night as we try and entertain the Golden State Warriors.

As for the Suns not making the playoffs, I'm pretty sure the Suns knew what they signed up for. They knew that if they were going to make the playoffs, it wasn't going to be easy. Not just because of the Western Conference talent, but because Phoenix had to make one hell of a comeback to make the playoffs. Sad to say, but I'm sorry for the Suns. Meanwhile, my Rockets still have to play to their strengths when the playoffs start up. That's even if we open up against Utah. Portland seems more favorable for us, but ANYBODY besides San Antonio or Utah.

It was just the opposite, the Suns were well up in the West (I think they were the 5th seed at one point) for quite some time, but the local media and fans were pressuring the management to pressure head coach Terry Porter that they wanted to see a little more of the run and gun Suns that would score 120 points per game and didn't mind, at the time a lack of defense.

Unfortunately for everyone, that plan totally backfired and the Suns started a big losing streak that ended up costing Porter his job. IMO, I blame this ordeal on the front office, mainly Steve Kerr who wanted to change the focus of the team to defense and then changed his plans in the middle of the season during the playoff hunt and cheating the team of winning a championship.

Nash, Shaq and Grant Hill aren't getting any younger and they all want to witness the rising of a championship banner in Phoenix.

Tonight marks the final regular season night of the NBA on TNT. Here are tonight's matches:

* Boston at Philadelphia
* Utah at Los Angeles Lakers

These look like good playoff matches. Enjoy tonight's games!

The regular season ends tonight! My Rockets will go up to Big D to take on the Dallas Mavericks. This night is all about positioning for playoff teams. I think we can actually clinch our division (Southwest) if we win tonight in Dallas. This is going to be a tough bid for my boys. Dallas is going to play like they want it, and so the Astros will have to take Dallas just as seriously.

Rockets just lost big: 95-84. How the other teams do depends on whom we'll be taking on in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Well that's it for the regular season, here are the playoff match ups.

Western Conference
(8)Jazz vs (1) Lakers
(7)Hornets vs (2) Nuggets
(6)Mavericks vs (3) Spurs
(5)Rockets vs (4) Blazers

Eastern Conference
(8)Pistons vs (1) Cavaliers
(7)Bulls vs (2) Celtics
(6)76ers vs (3) Magic
(5)Heat vs (4) Hawks

So we've got the lower seed. I knew there was something about the time for that game. Maybe it's a good thing they'll play at Portland just to get away from the potentially rainy and miserable weekend set for Houston. Portland's a better bet for my Rockets than the Spurs or Jazz, but Brandon Roy is still the big difference maker (unless he has an injury I'm not aware of).

Come on now, Rockets! Let's return to the Clutch City days!

Looks like the Nuggets have got a match-up against the team that had been rivaling them mid-season, the Hornets. Obviously they must have fallen away. However, this means one bad thing: they'll have Chris Paul to deal with.
