Yeah, but "World Champion" in a domestic series like the NBA is NOT a World Championship. Maybe if there was the NBA in America taking on the best NBA Europe team (if such a league is ever established), THEN World Champion would be appropriate. But, you're only World Champions when you take on actual world teams.

My Rockets will host the Celtics. Let's see if my hometown team can keep it together for a rough November schedule.

I'll be G:censored:-f:censored:in' damned... We had a three-point play made by Yao Ming. Then on a catch-and-shoot, Portland handed my Rockets a loss. Trailblazers won 101-99 in Double Overtime, and I'm extremely pissed off about how the Rockets played this game. They could have guarded Portland a hell of a lot better than what they shown at the Rose Garden. Now we're going to the Staples Center... two losses in a row. Like I said, a good start isn't important, but it helps. So after winning three straight, we're now 3-2. And unless they get it together in Los Angeles, we may be 3-3 and maybe 3-4.

I'll hand it to the Blazers, though. They played us good. Just means my friendly rivalry this season with a6m5 is now 1-0 in favor of his Trailblazers. And this is a funny note- the Rockets played only one overtime game all last season... and lost it. Just hope my Rockets don't be like my Texans (as far as not winning Overtime games). Damn it!!!

It didn't occur to me at first, but Brandon Roy's performance in last couple of seconds of the overtime, it might've been the most clutch performance by a Blazer I've ever witnessed.

On the turnaround with less than 2 seconds left, he had two Rocket defenders on the floor! Then Yao hits that amazing turnaround, I was in disbelief. Then they call that foul, I started swearing, as they always tell you that refs will not call fouls in that situation, because they don't want to decide the outcome of games. Perhaps they made the call to make up for the non-call of T-Mac earlier.

But that last shot by Roy, he was something like couple of feet behind the three point line, turnaround, probably fadeaway too, with 0.8 left on the clock! Prayer? Hell yeah, but he made it. 👍

Just like our win against the Spurs though(our only other win, and it was by one point), we stole this game, too. At least our guys at played tough tonight, especially on rebounds, and that gave us a chance. Great game! :)

P.S. Aaron Brooks.... Gosh, I wish he was on our team!

Edit: Holy christ! Roy wasn't couple of feet behind the three point line! He was like good 7,8 feet behind it! LUCKY!

The Clippers have been clipped all season long so far, and it continues as my Rockets won and ended their 2-game losing streak to improve to 4-2. But up next... the other Los Angeles team on Sunday. After seeing the Clippers play some preseason action at the Honda Center in Anaheim, I wonder why the Clippers and Lakers share Staples Center. Think of the "Los Angeles Clippers of Anaheim!"

Anyhow, I've mostly gotten over Thursday's overtime loss. Up next is the Lakers and at the Lakers. That New Orleans game is at home next Saturday. After that, I think we get Dallas, Oklahoma City, and an East Coast trip including Washington and Orlando among other cities. About two of the next nine games for my Rockets are at home. Ouch!

Boy do I feel pissed about yesterday... Texans, Rockets, and Dynamo get hammered. The margin was 30 or 40 as we lost to the Lakers. The brutal start to November continues with a trip to Phoenix. Yay...

This season's All-Star Game will be in Phoenix on February 15th. There's still a full month of November, December, January, and parts of February to decide on who the finest NBA 'ballers are to be in the All-Star Game on Valentine's Day weekend 2009.

My Rockets had a notable incident when Phoenix elbowed our Rafer Alston when a melee broke out. Matt Barnes (Phoenix) and Rafer Alston (Houston) got ejected when Barnes clearly started this. It really reminded me of the classic fight between Michael Jordan and Reggie Miller in 1993. The Rockets will play their final Away game on this stretch in San Antonio. Yep... that city six hours west of Houston where we probably should have never traded Robert Horry. Some people are saying that this more edgier attitude for the Rockets adds some character and toughness to my team. All I care about is advancing in the playoffs. This will help, but we'll see when Playoff time runs around.

My team's looking pretty good on the first stretch of the season, considering. Taking the schedule into account, Blazers are definitely overachieving right now.

In the win against Miami, Oden actually played limited minutes, Rudy Fernandez lived up to the hype set by the rookie rating by ESPN(he's been #1 for week or two). While it's not gonna get any easier this season for the Blazers, I just hope my team at least keep putting up a good fight. Playoffs baby! That's what we are shooting for. :)

What does it mean that every Celtic has played worse this season compared to last and yet the Celtics are 9-2? Does it speak of imminent collapse or a run at 70 wins?

Happy anniversary, Malice at the Palace! Four years ago, this horrific brawl happened at the Palace at Auburn Hills.

On a lighter note, my Rockets will host the Dallas Mavericks. Yep... the Texas Triangle about to play for Texas pride here in Houston.

Stronger bench, or weaker opponents, possibly.... I'd say they are doing exactly what's expected of the defending champs, at least teamwise.

Mavs won, right? Blazers beat the Bulls last night(I got to go to that one)...... by 42 points. We were all amazed by not how good the Blazers played, but how bad the Bulls were, and how nobody protected the paint for the Bulls.

Roy had 20 points, and that probably was the game high, and we won 116-74, I believe. Greg Oden, in 17 minutes, I think he had 11-10-3(blocks).

Yeah, the Mavs won. We're having some troubles with injury with the Rockets. Tonight marks an East Coast road game swing. We're playing at the Washington Wizards.

Well, I'm smiling. The Rockets had next to no toughness through the first half, but picked it up in the second. They won 103-91. Rockets are now 8-5 (?) while the Washington Wizards fell to 1-9. It's their worst stretch in about 42 years of Wizards basketball (probably even back to the Washington Bullets era).

Up next for my Rockets- a trip to Orlando tomorrow night to take on the Magic. It's T-Mac's old stomping grounds. Yao and T-Mac are among many names to possibly by free agents in the Summer of 2010. That even include LeBron James and Chris Bosh, who could end up being New York Knicks. Probably safe to say that New York will be a viable East contender along with some solid talent to compliment James and Bosh.

This just in...

P.J. Carlesimo (Thunder head coach) was fired as coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Scott Brooks (a former Rocket, part of the 1993-1994 NBA Champion Rockets) is the interim head coach. Tough deal for Oklahoma City.

My Rockets will take on Orlando tonight. Then I think we go to Miami on Monday.

I like PJ, but that was his second chance. Should be his last chance, most likely forever. I was hoping that he learned enough from Popovich, but I guess not.

The Rockets won at Orlando. Dwight Howard picked up all kinds of fouls. Yao Ming had five fouls, but he was money on the hardwood last night. So we took on Dwight Howard on Sunday. Up next- we take on Miami. Going to be interesting to see how we do in South Beach.

We're NL rivals in baseball, TS. Now we're Western Conference rivals in the NBA. Welcome to the NBA, TS!

I was wondering where this thread was...

Suns beat Blazers last night 102-92!
Blazers are playing better than I thought they would at this point in the season, but they still have trouble against quality teams on the road. 0-2 at Phoenix this year, I think I read the Blazer's losing streak against the Suns are 11? Absolutely ridiculous.

I can't blame the yesterdays loss on just one, or two, or three, or four things or people either. Just about everybody sucked for us. Oh, well. They'll bounce back.

P.S. What is going on with Shaq? I swear I saw him shove one of our bigs, last night(he went flying, no call). Is it just me, or does he look little bit out of control?

Up next for my Rockets... a trip to Miami. Add Eddie Jordan to the "unemployed coaches list." He was fired by the Wizards (as I heard) this morning. God! And I thought college football had coaching Russian Roulette!

Today's the 70th birthday of Oscar Robertson and the 60th birthday of former Rockets coach, Rudy Tomjanovich. Oscar Robertson was part of the former Cincinnati Royals, now known as the Sacromento Kings.

I really think cities like Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, San Diego, (maybe) Anaheim, (maybe) Omaha, maybe (Jacksonville), and St. Louis are two sports markets that aren't represented in the NBA. Seattle had a team, now the only Pacific Northwest representative is Portland (unless Vancouver or somebody start up an NBA team again).

Current score (as of this post): Rockets lead 11-9 with about 6-something minutes left in the first quarter.

Brandon Roy and Greg Oden have been quite impressive so far this season, and the Blazers are gonna be a contender this year in the west.

I was rather surprised that the Suns won the game by as many points as they did, they had like 15 turnovers or something, which is something that they haven't done much of during the D'Antoni tenure.

I haven't a clue, he's been knocking guys around a lot this season, and he hasn't been fouled that often from what it appears.

Rockets swept the East road trip. Tomorrow night, we host the Indiana Pacers- one of Ron Artest's former teams! And let's not forget the colors he wore in the infamous Pacers/Pistons brawl in 2004.

Scott Brooks' Thunder nearly beat the Suns last night, 99-98, but the Thunder had a 16 point lead going into the 4th quarter.

Well, we nearly put away the Indiana Pacers... until the Rockets [rant] couldn't make a freaking jump shot when it mattered. Rockets need to get it together. I know most Houston teams are known as second half teams, but you need a good FIRST half to be a great second half team. Two quick road games ahead on the calendar include at Denver and at Memphis. We're 10-6 now.

The Thunder didn't have enough thunder to shake off the Cavaliers on the road. And they lost bad. Maybe 20 or 30 point spread.

Would you like some basketball with your turkey and cornbread dressing? The first match at 8:00 PM EST involves the Orlando Magic at the Washington Wizards. Then, the New Orleans Hornets will pay a visit to the Denver Nuggets.

That's a little NBA feast for you.

Party all night if you're a Rockets fan because they pimpslapped the Spurs 103-84. Sweet revenge in this "Interstate 10" rivalry. San Antonio will have to make that six-hour bus ride back to San Antonio with a loss. The best thing about this win is that we beat them early and often. They did try to fight back, but everybody was on point for the Rockets.

Not really sure as I was mostly watching college football. On a different note, Oklahoma City avoids having a 15- game losing streak as they won after being behind by 14 against Memphis. Nice win for the Thunder.
