Not even Wednesday could ship in three goals in thirty minutes against Wycombe, surely?

It'd only need to be two with the Pigs winning. And after 25 years of supporting them nothing would surprise me...

Famine, do tell us, how much credit goes to Gary Megson?

Give us an unbiased opinion if you can. Hehe.

Incidentally, called it. Mandaric fully justified, I think.

Edit: Psyche. I posted that before I read the above :D

I got so excited I forgot today's action :D

Premier League
If QPR beat Stoke City, both Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers are in trouble but not yet mathematically relegated. Bolton need to win or draw to stay in touch, but they also need to overturn a goal difference deficit of eight to QPR - averaging four-nil wins against West Brom today and Stoke next weekend, or hoping QPR lose heavily against title-chasing Manchester City in the last game, neither of which are outside the realms of possibility.

May as well roll on to tomorrow's action now...

Premier League
Blackburn Rovers need to beat Wigan Athletic or they are relegated. A draw puts Wigan almost safe and a win for the Latics means safety.

Tomorrow's action part II. And some personal tl;dr.

Wrexham (0) vs. (2) Luton Town

Big, big job required of the Town. Away goals do not count double, so as it stands at the aggregate half time, we need two goals minimum to take the game to extra time. In my post addressing the first leg, I said that on our day we are streets better than Luton. This is still true. But since March, we've been faltering. Thursday's team selection was awful; no legs Stephen Wright at full back against Robbie 'Usain' Willmott. Jamie Tolley was wearing a cloak of invisibility and Adrian Cieslewicz was as much use as a condom in the Vatican. Sling them out and get Declan Walker, Joe Clarke, Chris Westwood, Jake Speight and Glen Little in the team and we will take the game to them.

This is a crucial game for us, after the season we've had. A 48 hour whipround saw us raise close to £200,000 to ensure we even started the damn season. A club record 98 points and we blew it in the first leg with a horrible performance. I felt violent watching it.

But infront of a packed Racecourse, with the best XI playing instead of a mediocre one, we can do it. Luton have a massive advantage and now is the time for Wrexham FC to stand up and be counted.

I think Mansfield and York are playing their second legs too...

Well, West ham are 1-0 up against Cardiff so that makes it 3-0 on aggregate.

Ditto scorelines at Wrexham.

We. Just. Aren't. Good. Enough.

The passing in particular. Just watching us trying to 'pass' makes me feel violent.

Wow. 2nd and 3rd in the BSP both knocked out - Wrexham who finished just 5pt behind the leaders lost out by one goal in five to a team who finished twenty-two points behind the leaders.

Ree-goddamn-diculous.

Over 46 games we were more than worth a promotion slot. L2/Conf needs to be three up, three down. The bottleneck is tremendous, and teams like Barnet avoid the drop year on year.

Club records we broke this year:

Most points
Most wins
Most clean sheets
Most consecutive clean sheets
Best goal difference

And what do we have to show for it? Knocked out of the semis again. By Luton Town. Again. Of course, I can admit that Luton played better over the two games but in the first place, the play-offs are a bloody nuisance and unfair when you have to play a team with seventeen points less than you.

And we came mighty close from 3-0 down on aggregate with thirty minutes left to bring it back to 3-2.

I want Luton up and out of this league.

Fun fact: No team who has finished 2nd in the Conference has ever won the play-offs.

Don't forget "Highest point tally to fail to secure promotion"...

NOT HELPING!

Our best defender is leaving for Peterborough on a free and, as ever, we've got zero budget to clear the dead wood. Even though we astonishingly raised ~£300,000 via transfers in January. Such are our financial woes.

There's always next year. And I'll actually be able to go and watch us next year. Shame we'll still be playing Telford, Alfreton and Ebbsfleet. Renewed derbies against Macclesfield and Hereford are of little comfort.

If Sam Allardyce takes West Ham up, I hope he gives Venkys a wave on the way past.

Telford are very, very happy to remain in the BSP next season having taken 7 years to get back there :sly:

I'd rather Ollie went up and that big mouthed git can stay in the second division along with Blackburn.

Well, I only managed to go to four games this season including both Telford games so if you can guarantee 2-0 & 4-0 wins for us again next year, I'd be happy!

Well they barely avoided relegation, even with a 5 point cushion in the end. They must improve next season though if they want to stay in the BS Prem.

I'm more pleased about Shrewsbury getting promoted, finally. They've been knocking on the League 1 door for several years now, but couldn't pull in off in previous play-off situations. Good to see them go up automatically this time though.

Oh, we'll see about that.

I'm not! The Slop will do a Rochdale; one successful season before falling back down.

Oh, we'll see about that.

Ryan Young won't know what flew past him. And Valentine got so much stick from us. He hated it.

League One updates:

Stevenage 0-0 Sheffield United

Milton Keynes Dons 0-2 Huddersfield

I'm not a big fan of either to be honest. Would've preferred the Blues to go up.

I'm happy for Shrewsbury, but I'd prefer to see us in the same division.

I'm not a big fan of the playoffs. How often does promotion go to the teams who are average from August to March, then find form at the end of the season?

Eh, probably. To be honest, that's the outcome that I consider to be the most likely. I still hope they can get a foothold in League One.

Of course. But that's quite a way off yet.

A man can dream though.

I'm a closet Shrews fan (and that's not a reference to their former ground).
