Hi, I’m trying to get a group of players together who would all like to take part in a ‘Le Mans series’ type group of events. This is aimed at the casual gamer, but all people of all skill levels are welcome.

For this to be a ‘World Series’ it would have to be over multiple countries, however GT5 seems to have a lack of different countries race circuits. As a result some countries would have to be visited multiple times.
There will be approximately 7 races, (1 each week for 7 weeks.) but this could be altered before the series began. Each race would take place over approximately 100 miles, or as close to as possible. Each weekly race will take place on the same set day each week, relative to a time in the GMT timezone. (This would be set before the series begins)

Rounds:
Round 1: Japan, Fuji speed way F: 35 laps (99.4 miles)
Round 2: Italy, Monza. 28 laps (100.8 miles)
Round 3: USA, Laguna Seca. 44 laps (98.56 miles)
Round 4: Japan, Suzuka. 28 laps (101.8 miles)
Round 5: Germany, Nurburgring Nordschliefe type V. 6 laps (91.08 miles)
Round 6: France, Circuit De La Sarthe. 12 laps (101.64 miles)
Round 7: Germany, Nurburgring GP/F. 31 laps (99.2 miles)

Each round is to be raced on a Wednesday 9.00pm GMT (this may change depending on where people are from and for convenience)

There will also only be an eligible ‘group’ of cars that can be raced:
LMP's
BHP: Torque (ft-lb's): Weight (kg's)
Audi: R8 ’01, 610 / 526 / 900

Divisional Championships

In the interest of fairness between Group C cars and LMP cars, I propose we order the cars into divisions; there will be 4 Championships in total.

Overall WLMS Championship:

WLMS Group C Championship:

WLMS LMP Championship:

WLMS Team Championship:

This thereby gets us round making Group C vs. LMP balancing issues, whilst still allowing all cars to enter.

yay! some one else. I think it would be a good idea, but I just hope a few more people would agree. Aswell as finalising some more details. any ideas?

Cool will do please can you give PSN; car you'd use (this isn't set in stone), power (bhp), and weight (kg's)

I'm interested, I'd just like to see the times and date of the races before i commit to something I'll miss. Also want to see what Group C cars are added if any, Thanks.

Group C cars included are as follows:
Mazda 787b
Saucer C9
Toyota 'Minolta' 88CV
Nissan R89
Nissan R92CP
Jaguar XJ9

Other LMP cars to be added to the eligibilty roster are:
Panoz esperante

I think that's all of the LMP's and Group C's. If not just reply with the missing cars.

im from the UK to so provisional times will be somewhere around 9.00pm GMT but depending on where people are from times may be slightly later/earlier but id like to keep it close to 9 unless there are major greviances.
check the OP im updating now.

well for now there is NO bhp limit or weight limit but if poeople are entering cars with 100bhp + differences then a limit will be introduced.

if people could post the weight and bhp of their car their entering ASAP that would be helpful

My pescarolo c60 has 1060 bhp, at 900 kg, that's with high rpm turbo, without turbo its 942. The 787 is 895 bhp but only weights 830 kg.

This is a great idea for a series and since it's my first GTP race series I'm looking forward to playing! I think you should probably look into weight and power restrictions since the various cars arn't as even as other clases e.g. JGTC. Also what aids are you allowing? I think skid recovary should be off but due to the extreme nature of the cars TCS should be on. Thanks for organising this Ib1990!

i'll update the OP as soon as possible; im off to bed now.

Also, if someone else wouldnt mind volunteering to be an emergency hoster just in-case my connection dies etc. thanks.

Power restrictions: not sure yet; 900bhp ideas?
Weight restrictions: not sure either 850kg?

The 787B weighs less than 850kg. The weight restriction doesn't need to be enforced. And 900bhp tops sounds good.

Adding other classes just over complicates things.

yeah, a power limit, but not a weight limit will probs be the best way to go.

also for practice sessions, these can be done off line in practice mode to set up your car for each track, and then a communal session sometime before the race to finalise set up etc, but this is still to be organised etc.
