Adding other classes just over complicates things.

I didn't suggest adding other classes. I suggested adding power/weight restrictions as the Group C and LMP classes have more diverse levels of power and weight compared with other classes such as JGTC as there is less diverse levels of power and weight in JGTC cars. I was merely using it as an example, not suggesting we add it.

well my granturismo.net is down at the moment..again.. so once its back up ill edit the OP with all the power/torque and weight stats so we can see what the balancing will be like.

Oh, whoops sorry.

I would be up for this if there is still a space available. Don't know what i would race yet but i'll let you know. Maybe Audi R10 TDI '06.

Here's the statistics from Famine's database:

Sauber C9 Mercedes 710 893 795.1
Jaguar XJ9 749 894 837.8
Mazda 787B 690 930 741.9
The Data for the Minolta is from mine as I couldn't find it in the database. The R92CP isn't there either so it would be great if someone could provide them. Also there wasn't any weight figures for the Pescarolo's and I'm unsure if they're available in game. It's up to lb1990 to balance the field so hope this info helps.

Some of those look wrong, my 787B is 830kg not 930kg

I don't know if GT5's figures are even true anymore, wikipedia says the BMW V12 LMR put out ~580bhp, when looking at it in the UCD it said 580, but when I bought it it said ~700

Wiki is saying the 787B does weigh 830kg

Is your 787B the stealth version? They weigh 830. To be honest it doesn't really matter if the figures in game are exactly the same as those in real life. We just need to make the cars that we are racing balanced by allowing upgrades or banning certain cars according to figures in-game.

well i have a 787b and its 895 bhp max with 830 kg. the minolta has 900 plus stock and weighs 850. i believe a 950 bhp limit would be fair

Sounds good. I checked the 1 hour Le Mans thread and they're using a 976HP limit.

Yea thats my thread / they are pretty even when you put a high RPM turbo on the LMPS and leave the group C's stock.

The only cars thats are too fast are the R92C & sauber C9 if they are broken in - Once broken they make like 980+ hp

The C9 is just stupid fast - thats why my limit is @ 976

OP updated with new rules and regs..please check.
Also, what about dividing ourselves into teams, and having a team championship aswell?

still need to wait for stats to come up.

also can someone volunteer to be a co-host incase im unavailable etc?

I would but I don't think my connections up to it. Also are you setting day/night transition and weather on the available tracks?

I believe neither the minolta nor the bmw will be able to get under 900, even without turbo, same with pescarolos, I'll be using the 787B then.

Hi. I would be very interested! Please add me if it's not too late.

PSN: solidmic
Peugeot 908 HDI FAP Team Matmut '10

As far and power and weight, I will get back to you when I have a chance to check it out.

Thanks!

added.

expanded up to 14 players. one more is needed.

teams?
I think it's a good idea but what size teams and how would we arrange them?
We would have to ensure that the teams had balanced skill level (we don't want a team of excellent drivers vs a team of less experienced ones) so perhaps some sort of qualifying system could be used?

just 6/7 teams of 2. and randomly

person A asks person D...so forth in a random set up. then they choose a team name.

THERE IS NOW 1 PLACE LEFT.

I say make the teams a random selection.
Assign everyone a number from 1-14 as they correspond of the list.
At http://www.random.org/ enter the maximum number 14, roll it twice, what ever 2 numbers come out is a team.
If they are repeated roll again.

Also you need to update my car to the 787B

I reckon we go with the random idea. It's the most fair due to slight differences in the cars etc. So no one could complain.

The teams just adds another twist not only is it a personal challenge but a group challenge too

These are the teams of we decide to do them, using the random number generator above:
The numbers below are each persons number in the OP.

#4 & #1
#9 & #14
#11 & #7
#5 & #13
#12 & #3
#8 & #10
#2 & #6
