Of all the new cars, I think the Chevy SS has the most clever implementation of its functional grille. Where the other cars have theirs jsut model after the typical middle bottom grill slot, its incorporated right in the funky grille piece exactly as the road car.

Now with the cars looking much more identical with their street car counter parts, I still think that for the Road Courses they should incorporate Working Headlights and Tail Lights.

Looks pretty much like a Malibu. But still very Aggressive.

Does not compute.

I need some entertainment on weeknights Mule.

Is Gentleman's Literature not enough?

The Dodge shown in Vegas at the March race is better than all of them.

But since its not competing, not sure it really counts anymore. It is abit sad though that all that work will just sit in the Garage of Dodge collecting dust instead of being out on the race track.

Kasey's car looks much better than last year but I prefer red Farmers like Michigan had.

Jeff's have gone in wrong direction from his glory days and just look boring. I know it's hard to get excited about AARP but come one. Just like Jr's need some work too for me.

Something is weird about new cars like really bubble like for me but not horrible. One thing I do not like is the names on windshield, it looks weird because of being so small. If your going to out it up there make it full width please not a small decal.

They're not allowed to have numbers or logos on the headlights or taillights anymore so the RCR rendering is a little flawed

Well, it is a rendering after all :P

The main point was just to just showcase the changes for the 2013 car.

I honestly never noticed that. As RACECAR pointed out though, the main point of that video is to showcase the changes for the Sprint Cup and NNS cars for 2013.

As is the rule honestly. Unless those are real lights they really shouldn't be caring if there are numbers over them.

Childress confirmed Harvick is leaving next year.

Also, both Bowyer and Gordon haven't spoken to each other ever since Phoenix. I think both want to put it behind them but they have too much pride to admit they were wrong.

Surely opens the door for Dillon and the #29 to revert back to the #3 ~prepares for backlash~

It'll be a really cold day in hell when that number comes back to the cup series.

(I'm just saying that....don't believe in hell)

And following on, I see Ty Dillon probably replacing Burton in 2014 or '15 at RCR as well.

As stated before, Trucks and NW are one thing, having that number back in the Cup series is a whole different ballgame...

I still think Childress will do it for his grandson. With RCR looking more down than ever (Harvick leaving with sponsors), I don't think Childress will be able to refuse it. The money Childress could make in merchandise sales alone would be huge. The excitement about a black #3 being back on track could be all he needs to fix his team's sponsorship problems, at least temporarily. It's going to happen in 2014. Austin Dillon is going to drive a black #3 car in the Sprint Cup series.

Richard has said before the 3 can only be driven in NASCAR by either an Earnhardt or a Dillion, and that it must be a different style of font if used in Cup.

I just don't believe any of that.

Sorry.

I really think the newer Chevrolet SS stock cars are the most stylish NASCAR stock cars since the 2000 or 2002-ish Ford Taurus stock cars.

To go back to what RACECAR said on the previous page, I do agree with the notion of functional lights. I think back to the Nationwide races at Monteal when it rained (memories...). NASCAR wouldn't need lighting exactly like their road-going counterparts. I can think of two examples of cars with some sort of functional headlights. I can think of in the 2002 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, when a Trans-Am Jaguar XKR had some tack-on headlights to compete in the race. I think that Jaguar won it its class that year. I even remember the IROC race around Daytona's road course at night. These Pontiac Trans-Am/Firebird cars were equipped with some fog lights or something to help see around Daytona at night.

So in addition to windshield wipers, I would be open to see functioning lights. About the only stock cars I've ever seen with some sort of functional lights was maybe one race in the ASA series. I noticed somewhat functional brake lights during one onboard camera view of one race I saw back in the early 2000s. I say NASCAR probably add tail lights like you'd see atop some cars on the rear windshield and perhaps some auxillary head lights like on either side of the front bumper. Or, they could kind of give the cars functional small head lights like on the Australian V8 Supercars.

By the way... I'd LOVE to see NASCAR race in the rain again on a road course. Stock cars were not meant to go left AND right, but we sure love seeing them do so! Some of you REALLY into seeing NASCAR go road racing in wet conditions may well have to start doing rain dances so the 2013 road races can be a bit more interesting. ;)

I'm glad somebody else mentioned this. I think the early-2000s Taurus was just about the best-looking NASCAR vehicle in this era.

That said, unlike most other commenters here, I'm still not a huge fan of the new Chevrolet. For whatever reason, I think the blue and white "example" car is the best-looking out of the ones I've seen so far. Then again, I also thought the new Ford looked best without a livery. That car remains my favorite of the three.
