Shedden given 4 sec penalty for his pass on Jackson, which reverses their positions. Collard's pass on Goff gets him a 5 place grid penalty next race.

10 place grid drop for Jordan at next round.
He takes another car out of the race and he is allowed to keep the win. I thought the stewards were applying penalties which fit the crime this year (that probably only applies to backmarkers like Depper and Hynes though). If the stewards had bigger balls they would've excluded him from the race.

I could be that gio did have an issue but they feel Jordan could have did more therefore not excluded as it wasn't 100% deliberate

Was my birthday yesterday and I was in the second row in the Grandstand and I was not disappointed. Brilliant racing and full of incidents. Regardless of what you think of who you want. That said Matt Neal was once again his usual whinny self when he got caught in a Austin/Smith sandwich at Hawtorn in Race 3. The circuit commentator spoke to him. Thankfully the cars roared past which drowned him out.

Happy Birthday! (for yesterday)

I also notice that your avatar is JP. So you probably wouldn't take notice of his whining too :P

Looking back on yesterday, I have a few thoughts on everything.

Firstly, Neal is having a torrid time. Can't catch a break at all. Unless he turns it around with consistent podiums soon, any hope of the championship is slipping away slowly. Giovanardi is getting himself into all sorts of bother, and he's getting bad luck as well, so his season has been a real struggle too. I'm hoping for some better runs soon from both of them.

Jackson has been a star driver for me this season. as he's getting himself solid finishes every round, in a car that's far from being the fastest on the grid. Similarly, Flash is there or there about every weekend, and he's adapted really well to the Tourer.

Jordan has been a bit odd this season for me. He's been dominant at times, really struggling at others, and he just appears to be a little scrappy now and then. I think he isn't only feeling the pressures of being champion, but he also feels the need to step up his driving that little bit more (as everyone does) because of how close the field is. When he's on form though, he's on form, and he'll definitely be there again at the end of season.

Nearer the back, Newsham is having a few torrid times, along with Morgan, Austin, Clarke, Geddie, Cole and Scott, who seem to be ending every race with half their panels missing, if finishing at all.

I wonder if not having Dynamics data this season is holding the team back. Using a pay driver like Depper means that half of the potential feedback ends up coming back as "the peddle on the right makes me car go brum brum and the circle thing makes MGs spin". I'm sure the track limits and harsher penalties for smashing the car ahead out of the way are costing him some places over last year too.

I just saw the races! Great stuff. This time I think it was Plato's fault for the accident with Menu. They seem to be best buddies on track  Plato defender greatly in race 1 I have to say. Third race with Goff, I hoped very much he would be able to win that race but it didn't work out. Still very proud of that result in the Insignia.

Goff has become one of my favorite drivers. He is very open and kind during the interviews and on track he is a fast , fair and very talented driver. Hopefully he can get a bit more funds and improve so he can battle for the championship next year.

The British know how to do proper Touring Cars 👍 Keep this format MSA!

....Tim Harvey, I missed him .....

Am I right in saying Rob Austin crashed in Practice, Qualifying, Race 1, Race 2 and Race 3?

Was great to watch if a bit scrappy. Punishments do seem a bit inconsistent at times though...

I thought Depper looked faster this weekend than he has all season so far.

Sums Croft up nicely.

I need to get me some of them AlcoWaves

Also, Mr. Andy Jordan has been commentating various rounds of the World RallyX if anyone can't get enough of him for whatever reason, you wierdo

Alan Gow has said that a BTCC street race is unlikely, despite parliament passing legislation to allow street racing once more - unless they can get government support for the race.

I think they're pretty comfortable with the calendar they run already.

Gow has said that he'd like to do it if it's possible, but he's not going to chase it if there is no interest out there; rather, he'll make it known that the series is willing to explore the idea, and wait to see if the idea is reciprocated.

I'd love to see the Birmingham Superprix (no surprises as to why), I'm too young to have seen it live back in the day but I love the idea of it.

I'm sure the sounds of the engines reverberating around city or town buildings would be fantastic, and it might serve to raise the profile of touring cars further... BUT, I'm not sure how good it would actually be as an event.
V8 Supercars run on a lot of street circuits. It's a model that works when it is done properly. The key would be in turning the race into a marquee event. In that regard, V8 Supercars has been fortunate in that the Clipsall 500 replaced the Grand Prix in Adelaide, and the Gold Coast 600 replaced IndyCar.

The best way forward would be to imitate the Sydney 500 at Homebush Bay. The Sydney Olympic Park is actually pretty isolated from the rest of the city, so the event can go ahead with minimal disruption. A race around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park could do just that.

Maybe there could be some link up with Formula E in London if it survives it's first season?

The difference would be that the la would support it down there.

TcT have a good interview with WSR boss Dick Bennetts up at the moment, he talks about their current performance

The 2013 championship saw three MG one-twos finishes, five Honda one-twos and none for BMW. This year, that reads two for MG, three for Honda and one for BMW.

Bennetts said: “It’s frustrating that there’s been some background noise from my dear friend Jason! For Jason and H [Ian Harrison] to say they have developed to the limit, that is rubbish, because the Honda is quicker than them. And there is nothing wrong with that TOCA engine through the speed traps.
“It just frustrates me when they go public. We have worked bloody hard and spent a lot during the winter – we spent more than we had, to be honest.

Also, I didn't know this

Bennetts also points to the fact that the front-wheel drive machinery can lock the differential during qualifying, which he believes gives them around 0.2 second per lap advantage. “We are only getting back what we lose on Saturday,” he said.

Excuse the triple post, but BMR expanding with a 3/4 car Clio team next year.

Also Snetterton is this weekend - who do you think will be on form? I'm seeing Jordan taking a couple wins for sure.
