It's not the BMW, it's just that Colin is the only professional driver in the championship. The other BMWs were 11th and 15th.

Are you sure. Not a Plato fan but what he has just said makes sense. Did not know BM is running their own design front end.

If you take the BMW out of the equation then early in the race it would be 3 MG's in the top 5. Can't complain about one car with the person complaining cars' is just as over powered. Both MG and BMW need limiting?

You make that sound like Colin isn't a good driver. He (and Plato for that matter, even if I dislike him) have proven themselves able to beat the best on the world stage.

That's without mentioning Menu and Gio.

So using live timing since I'm watching F1. Turkington 1st. Shedden 12th and Plato in 2nd.

Turks in a great place in the title hunt.

That was all going somewhere... but nothing happened.

I'd just like to see Colin wrap it up.

Good day at the Rock yesterday. Glad the weather held out all day. Nice to hear a much louder cheer in the grandstand for Austin's race 3 win :) Nice to See Menu on the podium also.

So, it's Monday morning which means Jason Plato is complaining, but interestingly, he also said this...

Jason Plato
“The only thing I know is my contract with MG ends at the last race in October, and from that moment on I’m looking for opportunities, and what shape that will be time will tell.”

Rumours at the weekend have linked Plato with a switch from Triple Eight to West Surrey Racing in 2015, an option which Plato admits is something he would entertain, but he could only evaluate his options when the rules for next season are confirmed.

If you can't beat them join them?

He also said..

Jason Plato
If they’re not going to make any changes, everyone can throw their front-wheel drive cars in the skip, because if they’re not going to change the regulations there’s not going to be a championship next year, because who wants to turn up and come second?

JP clearly hasn't noticed that half the grid turn up each round, busting their asses, putting everything they have into the sport, and would consider even a podium finish a job well done ...

Having said that... annoying though JP is, I wouldn't mind having him drive for my team.

The only good thing about Plato joining WSR would be Turks still wiping the floor with him.

Slightly off topic but whilst surfin-tinternet motorsport pages I've just found out WTCC are going to be racing at the Nordschleife next year. Imagine the chaos if the BTCC were to race it.

WTCC will just be a single train Race most likely.
The overtaking will come from the Citroen's lapping everyone.
BTCC would be like WW3.
I want that very much.

On a similar note, has anyone else noticed that the recent R1 and R2's have been a little more engaging than the R3's?

This just in it. hsv is pro WW3 ;)

Met someone interesting at Castle Combe today, fresh from his win. Had an enjoyable chat with him about his win and Silverstone. I did have some videos with him blasting around, but unfortunately they wont play :( Have some more photos but sorry my photo skills are terrible.

We need the V8s to come to Donnington or Silverstone. So we can have a speed comparison, Yes i know the v8 will wipe the floor with a Touring car. But interesting to see by how much. At a track like Silverstone i predict a good few seconds, Where at say like Oulton park, I expect the Touring car to just edge the v8.

as much as the V8s don't have the mechanical grip I would be surprised if they are slower at any track, the 90s Super Touring cars where about 7 seconds slower at Bathurst and they are quite alot faster then the current cars.

Hope this can help any arguments. Feel free to correct me if I've got anything wrong. This is just for comparison.
