BOOM!

A 247 BHP EcoBoost ST will be available. Apparently for about $27K USD. There is a new fancy torque-vectoring system on the front wheels as well. Apparently the trim picks up where the Titanium levels leave off, plus extra-fancy Recaro seats. Schweet.
ST. Win. That car is finally going to make the U.S. Focus what it should be, not what it has been, which is a vanilla-y compact at best.
Seconded. I'd get a Genesis before I'd get this as well.Sorry, I LOVE this ST but for that money I'd rather take a V6 Mustang with the go fast goodies and RWD.

That's something I forgot about. 6-7 grand more than the GTi/MS3 is... quite a lot, actually.
When did they raise the price on them?Base GTI and base MS3 are both right around the $23.5 mark so it's not $6-7k.
I like the ST but I'm afraid I can't see a way to justify that price tag. Not when the V6 Mustang has 300hp, a 6-speed manual, and a limited slip diff for very noticeably less money.
That's why they'll probably decide at the last minute not to let the U.S. have it...
I hope not. My guess is that Ford will tweak the price a bit, probably making the US version a little cheaper than what the rest of the world has to pay... All because of that damn Mustang.
You can bet I'll be all over this thing once it arrives early next year.
The problem with that idea is that the competition offers all sorts of those luxuries while still being relatively cheap."All because of that damn Mustang." Ford makes tons of money on the Mustang. I don't think it is a bad thing that Ford's got it set in a cheap price bracket. $22k MSRP for a V6 Mustang with a 6spd manual and 300+bhp is an outstanding deal. Yes the Focus ST will suffer, but that's Ford's fault for stuffing it full of luxuries and not offering a stripper "track" oriented model. Give me the ST with NO technology minus power windows and locks and sell it to me for $22k and let's talk. I don't care about Sync, a billion speaker radio or even leather. Just, car + power - weight/luxuries.
Nobody is going to buy that thing for $27,000. Ford knows this.

Have you been in the U.S. spec of this new one yet?
Me either. Ford's been on a roll, but let's wait 'till we get it. Even the best country bands hit a few clinkers.

It should be on par or above the fiesta which is rather nice on the inside.
See my response below.
This is exactly what I'm basing it on. The Fiesta is fantastic on the inside. I've been in $40k cars that didn't have as much of a quality feel inside as the Fiesta does. The Focus should be slightly better no?
I'd like to see what the interior feels/looks like after some wear and tear. I still get a bad taste in my mouth every time I'm in a Ford.
Does not matter what kind of car is it or who made it, it matters if you get lucky or not. But some cars are more lucky over the other ones
Considering this is what we have now:
Then yes, you are probably right.
