It's just foolish to refer to it as the biggest wreck ever. It's the biggest wreck in recent memory (the past 25 years at least in the Cup series).

These massive wrecks are a product of restrictor plates, so saying modern era is stretching it since modern era started in '72.

2010 Coke Zero 400 wreck had only 21 cars involved.

Also, modern era is since 1972 (41 years), it's almost insulting to boil down the modern era to arguably the worst period of NASCAR itself.

I was clarifying the series name so that @Blitz24 wouldn't miss it

I know what you were trying to do, doesn't change the fact that the words "modern era" were used. Poor choice of words.

I did not. Please, stop being ignorant thanks.

What was the biggest cup crash? Was today's it?

Some wreck on the Daytona sand back in the forties or fifties took out about fifty cars, didn't it?
Possibly. The Daytona wreck in question was Sportsman division 1960, NOT the top tier division.

You can't work on your car under a red flag, but what's the penalty if someone does? I'm curious if one of the teams might just ignore that rule just to try and get back out there.

Logano did that, as did Ragan. Got sent to the end of the field. Meaningless penalty. Should just deduct a lap.
