I'm thinking about getting NASCAR 2014 for the PS3. Do any of you guys have it, is it worth the money? I've been playing NASCAR 08 lately and it seems like half those guys aren't racing now. And I just beat season mode on the hardest difficulty so I need a challenge.

I don't have it but I can tell you from what I've heard, its just a copy and paste of last year's game.

Yeah I just watched some Daytona gameplay. Looks like...whoever made this game modeled the restrictor plate physics correctly, something EA didn't do. I'll probably go get it tomorrow.

About NASCAR 14, the AI is completely idiotic and stupid. Sometimes they make risky moves or just jolt down or check up very hard and makes it dumb. (I went 4 wide at Bristol..problem?)

But other than that, its not bad. You'll have all 43 cars that started Daytona this year with Daytona liveries(and a few more depending on if they raced in 2013). The career mode is decent. I find it more fun to just do quick races and run like 10-20% with 4x tire wear.

But I'd pick it up if I were you.

44 entries for Atlanta including:

#32 JJ Yeley
#33 Ty Dillon for his first Cup attempt
#37 Dave Blaney
#66 Brett Moffitt
#77 Joe Nemechek
#95 Michael McDowell

Nice new scheme for Allmendinger:

41 entries for Nationwide (Atlanta, too) and 29 entries for Trucks (at MoSport for the only road course of the year).

only if you get it cheap, it's full of bugs that prevent it from being good/great.

Spotter, crew chief, engine sounds drop completely.
race presentation and DW's boogity as well, at least for me. Engine is mostly ok, sometimes can't temporarily hear it.
I heard someone in a lobby who had spotter and DW, so it looks like not everyone is affected; you have DL version, too?

ETA: no redneck voice in Highlights either. Basically, only audio left is engines and pit noise, and they too seem to sometimes become mute.

Yes, I don't have presentation sounds either, also have the DL version.

Does the XBOX version have the glitches as well? I could get it on XBOX but I'd rather have it on PS3.

I have the disc and the same thing happens. About halfway through the race it happens, and then if I restart the race, no sounds at all.
disc and DL version behave differently then... I have no audio whatsoever except engine, from the time I start the game.
Tried reinstalling, trying a new game save, no success.

IIRC, no new patch is coming because audio issues are ps3 only and it works fine on Steam and 360, but don't quote me on that... check ETX's forum/twitter/facebook.

Usually my first pit stop/caution flag the sound cuts completely besides the engine. And when I restart the race, it'll still be the engine.

Why did EA have to give up the license! WHY EA! WHY!!!!!!

I know it's because of sales, but, still.

They're not doing another patch because they hadn't planned on doing another patch, and they aren't making another game as they don't have their license for NASCAR anymore. Whether another developer comes along and takes up NASCAR games is yet to be seen.

@GTPorsche
Where have you read about them losing the license? all I've seen was it's not an exclusive one, meaning we can have NASCARs in other games, Gran Turismo for example, and that anyone could do a game if they wanted to and NASCAR agreed to it (like NBA from 2k Sports and from EA, competition brings out the best in devs!).
I wish you're right and someone like Codemasters steps up, btw.

Indeed. I miss DW the most, the spotter would be (was, he gave up on the game lol) great if he gave the info a half second earlier...

any self respecting dev (ETX might not fit the profile) would try to fix an issue as important as missing audio that arose thanks to their latest patch. According to a recent tweet, they are "currently investigating" the issue so I'm holding a little hope.

That 2015 schedule was hardly newsworthy to make an hour long announcement out of it on two TV channels. It's all the same races, just in a slightly different placement.

The only thing that really bugs me about new schedule is that the "July 4th" Daytona race got moved to Sunday Night. It sounds like missed marketing potential as the race would've lined up perfectly on July 4th for the first time in like 10 years. But then again this would be this first non holiday deliberate Sunday night race so IDK.

So we'll have to deal with DW, Larry Mac and Jeff Hammond again? *groans* They might appeal to the "good old boys", but I feel like they set the sport back 30 years for everyone else and the newer fanbase. If NASCAR wants to lose its redneck image, these three are not the people to do it.

Also, Nationwide at Mid-Ohio, is that new?

No, Mid Ohio's been a thing for 2 years now

As long as its Fox, I pretty much never expect the announce booth to look any different.
