MV Agusta Livery for Gotz's Merc...

I quite like that actually đź‘Ť

Not a great race from my point of view. Congrats to the winner.

I think Blomqvist had about the worst first corner of any DTM career ever. And Paffett needs to get that chip off his shoulder... it was an accident!

The race was ok, more action than expected on a Saturday tbh. But I'd like to punsh Tambay in the face with a big chair. Ekström was so much faster and got ruined his race by Tambay. Especially with the SC just after this incident...

Great race today! Very slippery conditions and the best driver won! 2 Laps more and Paffet would have mad it from 22 to second :D

Paffett was the star of the race definitely! Pity that the BMW didn't seem up to pace, especially at the end of the race.

Yeah BMW was a little disappointing. Would have been epic to see a Ekström-Paffet battle. Eki did only control the race, he also could have been faster. If he can keep the quali speed from the last 3-4 races he'll be the champion this year

So, I've largely neglected this thread this year... 3 reasons for that ... 10% because BMW are doing pretty poorly at the moment... 20% I'm struggling to get streams etc. Since the YouTube channel seems to blocked in the UK... And 70% because I've been focused on the other events I'm visiting...

Anyhow, since I'm currently in the Netherlands for the DTM at Zandvoort I thought I'd give this thread a bump!

Great to see the cars live again! I think they look and sound fantastic, and Zandvoort as a circuit is a really interesting experience... Reallly is just built in the dunes... Not too impressed with the parking options, and the grandstand tickets are pretty pointless since the best views are to be had pretty much everywhere else! Great bars at the circuit too!

This is literally at pit exit, at the end of the paddock...

And the weather is nice, today at least, I believe it's due to get worse.

Boom, Farfus on pole, 7 of the BMWs in the top 10 for race 1, Not Martin Tomczyk though... Not really a surprise there though.

Pleased to report the weather is perfect at Zandvoort too.

First race was really exiciting. Really gutted what happend with Gary though.

I couldn't believe it when they came round on the last lap and Gary wasn't there! I'm BMW through and through but I did have the chance to say hello to him on the way to the Mercedes autograph session, and wish him luck as a fellow Englishman, seemed like a pleasant guy.

Much cloudier here at Zandvoort, it rained a bit this morning, but there are patches of blue sky.

Well needless to say I enjoyed today quite a lot too :D

Great weekend for BMW, if they hadn't had a penalty for changing Blomqvists engine they would have overtaken Mercedes for 2nd in the manufacturers championship... instead, they're still last, and a fair way off in the drivers and teams standings. Still, I suspect I choose the right weekend to spend HUNDREDS of pounds visiting :D

Took about 2500 pics, will take a while to sort through them... maybe on the ferry home. One from today...

Team radio of 'push him out' then the championship leader and his teammate are immediately in the gravel. An harsh penalty is needed I think

For those who haven't seen it:

It's pretty obvious to me, ban Schieder for a race, and strip Audi of all it's points for that race.

Good for Timo. Team orders nonsense and blocking and brake checking a guy = a nice trip to the gravel.
Yeah, because asking your driver to punt the championship leader so that your other driver leads the championship is totally okay. /sarcasm

The fact that Audi told him to do is no different than what Mercedes did to create the situation.

Didn't know if you had an Audi behind you, you were supposed to roll over and let them through.
No need to roll them when beaching them in the gravel works just as well, and they did spin in a nice team ordered fashion too.

DTM is the contrived black piss stain of the Motorsport world, but I'd never have anticipated an explicit order to hit other cars out of the race. If the ITR had balls and cared for the legitimacy of their championship, they'd ban all Audi cars from the Moscow races and ban Scheider for the rest of the season. But that won't happen. Audi will get a slap on the wrist, if anything at all.
