They just showed Lukaku facepalm on the Everton bench just after the Martinez news was announced.

Hahaha, that's fantastic.

Edit: Just at the end, he is saying "Is that a piss take?"

Hopefully £5 million will be raised from the match tonight, which will be split between four charities.

Barcelona beat Leicester 4-2.

Aston Villa sign Ross McCormack for £12m.

Inter finally complete the move for Candreva for £21m.

Man City sign highly rated youngster Gabriel Jesus for £27m.

Davide Santon looks to join West Ham on a loan.

Norwich sign Alex Pritchard for £8m.

Rooney is not playing well - if Mourinho is serious, he should sub him off...
To my astonishment, Rooney was subbed off after around 60 minutes...

I know the Man U v Everton game was a testimonial, but boy was it dull. And by dull I mean it made Croatia v Portugal feel like a trip to Disneyland in comparison.

The commentators were correct in their assessment that the game was being treated as a serious pre-season warm-up game and a chance for new players (and managers) to have a run out against serious opposition. But what a shame that a charity event - not to mention a game that was supposed to be honouring an individual player - would be such a travesty of a spectacle. Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come for Mourinho or Man Utd, because I'd sooner watch paint dry.

Fernando Llorente to have Swansea medical tomorrow, very happy to have a player of his quality potentially joining and he is only 31 so he has some gas left in the tank, as I mentioned before I have been a bit worried about Swansea over the summer as we haven't made many signings and let quite a few players go including our two main strikers, but with Llorente joining and Sigurdsson signing a new four year deal yesterday means things are looking better now and will be even better if Ayew and Williams don't leave!

Fulham vs Newcastle is this season's curtain raiser. That game kicks off tonight, which means Manager Watch is back and starts today.

See OP for updates and place your bets on the first casualty!

Excluding someone being approached for the Hull job I'd say either Ferguson at Doncaster or Wagner at Huddersfield. Out of the Prem teams, probably Pardew or Mazzarri.

Edit: In doing the "List Of Opening Day Managers" in the OP I was surprised at how many managers I didn't know. I'm usually good at this kind of thing and II knew 60-65 without looking up but 20-25ish were a complete blur. For example I had no idea Southampton had even hired someone, let alone even knowing who Claude Puel is.

AC Milan is now for 99,93% in Chinese hands. Finivest has paid €740 million for the stocks, they now have the €220 million debt in their name and paid €100 million as a warranty of some sort.

A non-Italian company/person owning AC Milan makes me sad. That stuff should only be allowed at Internazionale Milan. ;)

That would make both owned by Chinese companies now right?

Yes. 70% Chinese, 30% Indonesian. Erick Thohir remains President.

Scott Sinclair looks to finally complete his move to Celtic today. 6 weeks after talks began.

Leicester owners buy 19 first team players a BMW i8 each to say thanks for their efforts in last seasons title winning season, the car costs £100k.....

China are taking over the (football) world.
I guess they gave up on their own super league and decided to just take over the big teams. I wouldn't be surprised to see these teams like AC and Inter in a preseason tournament in China. Would seem like a mutually beneficial thing to the owners.

Berlusconi sold AC?
Yep, his 99% stake. I think I put a post a while ago of Berlusconi being very interactive with Chinese investors.

AC need big investors if they want to get back into the title race. They are just being left behind while all the top teams keep reinforcing.

Burnley sign Jon Flanagan on a loan.

Liverpool will make a new bid for Joao Mario.

Roma have signed Salah on a permanent. Extremely happy about this move, a wonderful player to watch who can make something out of nothing.

Blackpool - Gary Bowyer

Got to be odds on for the sack at some point, a decent shot at being one of the first too I'd reckon.

After that performance against a team that lost half of its home games last year, Benitez may not be too far away from the list.

Or at this rate, Owen Coyle.

Over 5,500 at the Racecourse though 👍

Liverpool beat Barcelona 4-0 yesterday in front of the second highest crowd at Wembley since it was rebuilt.

Probably the most overpriced transfer in history if they had actually paid near £100m for him.

Vermaelen will have his medical today at Roma.

Hamsik have signed a contract extension until 2020.

Sissoko could move to PSG for £35m.

Celtic win, what I consider, the hardest away game of the season 2-1. Hearts are very, very good and physical none the less. Can see a good season ahead for them!

Oh, and Sinclair scored the winner. :D

Jesse Lingard is first player since Eric Cantona in 1996 to score in FA Cup Final and resultant Shield. 👍

Two great goals too! Hopefully he will make it into England World Cup squad.

Jamie Vardy just equalised.
