I'm sure the other 92 clubs in England will have no problem letting Celtic and Rangers in through the catflap.
The English league becomes the British league. Slowly but surely.
Players won't stay either would manager, but keep in mind the players are not the same quality as they where, take a look at when Celtic last beat it's transfer record for a player it was over 10 years ago. The championship alone would supply more money then the Scottish league would so in reality it's maybe 3 years of pain for significant gain.Celtic have made it past the group stage 3 times in the past 10 CL campaigns. Celtic have a much larger fan-base than Newcastle, bigger stadium too.
Keeping the squad and manager, Celtic would get there but if you're starting in a 5th tier why should these players and manager stay? There would be a measly chance of keeping the squad in today's over-bloated BPL-aided transfer market where average players go for £10 mil~.
In an ideal world it would be a seamless transition - Celtic would not accept a 5th tier invitation. Rangers* might though.
I'm not so sure. The signings that Celtic and Rangers made this summer send a message that both teams are serious about making Scottish football better. It's a slow process but if Celtic and Rangers can consistently do something in Europe bringing in money and increasing the coefficient, they will be in better shape then going into English football from the bottom.it's maybe 3 years of pain for significant gain.

It's hard to predict the financial future of the Scottish league for Celtic and Rangers, but for international reputation, they are better off in Scotland and qualifying for Europe.
Rangers have proven going down many tiers doesn't kill the clubs base support, and that is only to get back in Scottish Top Div, if it was England i would bet alot more would be there to enjoy the ride.
The Old Firm have won 101 of 120 league titles... every other team in the nation has won just 19 times in total, with the last time being 31 years ago... it's little wonder then that the average Old Firm supporter has this mindset of 'expecting victory' when there is effectively no competition out-with the Old Firm.
Spot on, there's no interest to prove ourselves in the English league whilst European football is attainable. The day UEFA go full dictatorship and start severely limiting who can enter their competitions. Maybe talks will have to happen then.Because of how lucrative European football is in terms of revenue and transfer power, it's always better to be a big fish in a small pond.
There's a not too dissimilar situation in the Welsh league. There's one full-time professional club and they've been a dominant force for over a decade; TNS. They've won 9 of the last 12 titles including a current run of 5 in a row. They've also won six doubles and two trebles in that time.
TNS are based in Oswestry (in England, ironically) which isn't too far from Wrexham and the TNS top brass often like to tease that they could beat Wrexham seeing as how our misfortune sees us in the Conference but would TNS ever actually join the English league and work their way up from the Shropshire county league? Of course they won't. Why would they? Why would they give up their golden goose of titles and cups and European runs to be slugging it out in the English lower leagues?
And why would Celtic and their plus one, whoever it may be? Sure, they'd get a shortcut and be entered into the Football League from day one and even if they are several classes above TNS and any English third tier team, there's no guarantee that they would even make it to the Premier League and even if they did, I don't think they would be good enough to compete for the English title.
Celtic (and Rangers) can draw players in not only due to their history but also due to the opportunity and challenge of playing in the Champions League and Europa League. That is a huge selling point and that would disappear with a transfer to the English leagues. It would be foolish to give that up.
As for fixing this:
That's another matter entirely.
Joe Hart could be going to Torino on loan....![]()
Bye bye Chadli.

Sergio Aguero charged for violent conduct by the FA for his elbow on Winston Reid, no word on punishment yet but if its a ban then he will miss the Manchester derby in less than two weeks.
Jack Wilshire has been made available for loan by Arsenal, Come to Swansea Jack, we'll sort you out!
So please Arsene get a defender who has some height but doesn't have the pace of Mertesacker. I would love to see either Mustafi, Koulibaly, Rudiger, Manolas or Tah at the club.
We've been linked to quite a few players, the highlight being Isco but there is nothing concrete. Mason was also sold earlier.Absolutely maddening.
It might have been his choice to go because he wasn't getting much game time and if that's the case then fair enough.
But if Levy wanted to get rid of him to pay for Zaha then he's got less sense than I thought, Chadli is quality, a really good player who can change the game. We need players like that especially in the champions league, Zaha has done naff all in the prem let alone against teams like Madrid, Juve, Barca (if we end up playing them)
Really liked the look of how Mason played but I can't see the Isco deal happening unless Spurs would like to spend in the region of £40m for him as Real will definitely seek at least a return on investment from their €30m they had paid for him from Malaga. We've been linked to quite a few players, the highlight being Isco but there is nothing concrete. Players need to be bought, N'Koudou is waiting to be confirmed but there I'm concerned at the lack of depth. And Zaha is not good enough, may as well have kept Townsend if that's the level of player wanted.
Mason realistically wasn't good enough, we need someone who can spell Dembele when he's absent and Mason isn't that player.Really liked the look of how Mason played but I can't see the Isco deal happening unless Spurs would like to spend in the region of £40m for him as Real will definitely seek at least a return on investment from their €30m they had paid for him from Malaga.
N'Koudou is a similar player to N'Jie. Sources confirmed Spurs rejected bids for Son so we could see him play more of a major role.
Crystal Palace spent £30m on one player.Transfer total in the premiership for this window has now exceeded £1 billion.
Ridiculous.
We are talking about the same Son? Son is a direct replacement for Chadli who are both left sided wingers/midfielders. I haven't seen him play striker since he was playing for Hamburg and during the early stages of Leverkusen.I doubt Son will be given a more prominent role, he'll have a hard time breaking into the team unless Eriksen and Alli continue their patchy form, although Janssen looks like he's more likely to play instead of Son.
The only other transfer stories that aren't complete tosh I've read are Spurs making a verbal bid for Coric, who has refused a move to Liverpool because he wouldn't be a starter, 'monitoring the situation' over Bazoer who apparently is looking to leave Ajax, and (what I hope is BS) a potential bid for Moussa Sissoko.
This doesn't even compute.Crystal Palace spent £30m on one player.
