If the 911's and Corvettes were dominant, I wouldn't be complaining. Then it would be up to Ford and Ferrari to make a better car. Why should I receive a penalty when I've made my homework better than you?

It's not about a better car, you have no idea who the best car is. There is 3+ years of data on the cars that don't have a prancing horse or blue oval badge. When teams like that come here and think "well they don't really know what we can do but we have a good idea what we can do" and then run slower significantly than those others three cars to gain and advantage. That has nothing to do with doing your homework "better".

Now, open up the restrictions already on the car before pre LM testing, and then we can talk about who is better. The cars are already nerfed compared to what they'd without restrictions. Hell if they were the best cars, then why is it that this performance has yet to be shown in other races these cars have taken part in? This is a regulation issue not a "we built the better car so na-na"

Everyone, raise a glass to Frederic Sausset!

It's a shame, I wanted for him to be the one taking the rainbow of flags at the end of the race but it seems he's already changed clothes and called it a day. Still, a great achievement!

Looks like he's going to take the checkered flag!

I guess it's the atmosphere that plays a major role at Le Mans. Something easy to sense but somehow hard to explain.
Might be. There's just something "magical" about Le Mans. Probably the same like it is with the Indy 500.

If Eurosport would stop going for a commercial break every 10-15 minutes

I would be so happy.

From my 45+ years of watching racing every team plays the game every which way they can so I am done arguing, I am going to watch the rest of the race...have a nice day :)

And in my 20+ years of watching not every group allows that game to be played, so enjoy your day.

Which is history making in another way as it will be the first G56 entry to actually finish.

I was thinking exactly the same earlier on . It's also the first one that ends in tears of joy rather than tears of sadness, like with the Deltawing and Satoshi Motoyama :(

Well i've been to spa 24 hours last 2 years and I can say that the atmosphere is amazing there.. Much better then the grand prix of belgium, which I also attend each year. I only hope to see less nasty accidents this year because GT3 reached the limits of safety and speed in my opinion. (Remember the gtr at the ring?)

It's not necessarily a case of doing the "homework" - Ford have pumped an extravagant amount of money into something radically different to the rest of the field. Nobody else can complain because they voted for the thing to be allowed in.

What is daft is the amount of hatred two manufacturers are getting because they did their job.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if you don't try and bend the rules to try and benefit yourselves, you don't deserve to be on the grid. Your job as a racing team is to win, always - you can be social with fans, have a sense of humour, be seen to enjoy yourselves, but that's got nothing to do with the racing aspect. When it comes down solely to the equipment you bring to the track, you go as far as you can go without breaking the rules. It's up to the organisers to stop you. If you see a loophole, take advantage of it and beat everyone else, you've done your job. You get the headlines, you get the sponsor exposure, you get the PR work done and contribute to a global brand image in the hope for more sales. Simple.

Gotta say I'm quite suprised how quiet the race was. No Major accidents, only a handful of minor accidents and a couple of spins.
Looks like it's going to be the first non podium finish for Audi. Makes me really curious to see how they will come back to Le Mans next year.

are there actualy people that think that me saying something positive is going to affect things negatively hundreds of miles away ?

Yeah they're being told to come in. And that is absolutely stupid. If Ford are handed this 1-2-3 I don't know about this race anymore.
If they do, I would agree that it would be stupid. Even though it's in the rules, it's just one of those things, that it won't hurt anything with 18 minutes left.
