And the world's stupidest grid of less than 20 cars.

Having a few less yellow's will not change anything and neither will driving away customers.

If you guys want to correlate the removal the FIA Medallion system without a more effective replacement, then sure.

IMSA isn't obviously that stupid, and would not remove it unless they had a better system to replace it with, with the approval of the teams you think will be caught off guard by such an announcement.

If cnd01 was suggesting the complete removal of Pro and Am designations with no distinction made between the two moving forward, then that's his problem, not mine.

More on the Porsche: The Porsche goes back to last year's tire, but to get it, it had to take the weight penalty to get it. The current tire apparently doesn't evenly heat which causes serious handling and pace issues. CORE thinks the 2015 tire should solve that issue. Link here.

That's a really odd thing for Michelin tires, usually as close to perfect as perfection can get when it comes to GT racing, seeing as its only one team saying that right now it will be interesting to see if other teams jump on that issue as well and see what Michelin' response is,

The issue is to do with the Porsche's unique engine location and weight distribution.

When they switch to a mid engine car next year the Ford/Ferrari tires should work better on the 911.
Here's a thought then...if the Michelin's work best on MR cars, will Corvette go to Dunlop? *dramatic music*

Probably not since they actually work good on FR cars too and BMW might be making an actual M6 GTE. :P However it wouldn't shock me if BMW and Corvette went to another tire.

Corvette can run on Conti's and it would not matter since Imsa will just give them a picture of ballast to install in the car instead of actual ballast and they will remain competitive.;)

Well the picture has weight too it to. ;) :P  I wish LMGTE/GTLM had more tire constructors though, a full blown tire competition and some diversity would really spice things up.

The ballast will be small balloons filled with helium.

Anyone here heading to LimeRock for the race this Saturday? I wasn't gonna go but when I found out GTLM was racing, I couldn't pass up the opportunity

I seriously am beginning to think we'll never see Lexus Racing a GT car over here. It never happened for the ALMS and it keeps looking like it just won't happen for WUSC

Yup.

It's going to be a scorcher.
And the temps are to be about 90 F.

A couple driver shots and a Mazda from Watkins Glen.

Looking at the practice times for the first practice make it seem like the decision to revert to last year's tire really helped the Porsches. They look like they could have a chance now.

It could be interesting in the race because the 67 had issues in practice and the 66 ran out of fuel in qualifying. GTLM could be anyone's guess tomorrow since most of the field is extremely close based upon the qualifying results.

Sadly gonna have to miss the race cause mother thoughts it'd be more fun to have a family trip to the zoo then watch sports cars battle it out at lime rock. Oh well... At least it'll be up on YouTube within the next few days...

Just got caught up on qualifying for Lime Rock Park, something needs to be done with the PC category, give them better tires or a power increase, they're barely faster then GTLM,

They're also gentlemen drivers not pros like the GTLM guys. I think if you put better drivers in many of those cars they'd have faster times in comparison.
