2017 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand PrixFormula 1

I don't think there's anyone to blame. For sure not Kimi or Max but I don't think Vettel would cause this carnage either if he had seen 2 cars on the inside of the track. Probably he didn't have good visibility on his mirrors with the spray + night + articicial illumination combination.

It's a shame. Now I hope at least to see a fight with Ric and Lewis.

I'm also curious to listen to Vettel's take on the incident.

Vettel had all the room on his right hand side to enable safe track position. He gave Verstappen and Räikkönen nowhere to go.

The corner was to the left. Vettel went to the inside, defensive line. As pretty much almost everyone does when defending his position.

How are people saying Verstappen only went straight when he clearly didn't lol?

His reaction is to Vettel who, once again, has caused a Turn 1 crash by closing the line on other cars. It's happening too often with him and doesn't reflect his overall calibre.

They're still in the same position relative to Perez, and they shouldn't take long to pass Sainz and Bottas with old tyres.
Yes but if they'd done it a lap earlier they wouldn't have to do that. Tactical mistake.

Verstappen only stayed straight they said!

Vettel is in the lead, he has a right to close a gap, Raikkonen is the only one going straight and at this point he is ahead of Verstappen. Everyone is responsible for their own car and if you have to let off and let someone passed to avoid a crash then that is what you do. Verstappen didn't. You could just say it was down to unfortunate sequence of events. But if anyone is to blame, it's your boy Verstappen. Who has form.

Vettel was in the lead, why would he go right? Verstappen was being overtaken by Raikonen, he could and should have let off. The result of him doing that is losing second position and continuing to fight, the result of what he did instead is the front 3 which includes himself are out.
