I'm enjoying listening to Atherton tell me how great it is for the rest of the world that they get to watch the U.S. domestic series IMSA for free and uninterrupted while all we need is FS1 authentication/subscription to see... well something worse.

Yeah, caught that before I had to run. I get that they're trying to do what they can, and it sounded like Fox was finally starting to sort of work with them (i.e., less channel switching during the races, giving them air time on main Fox and not just the sport channels). Still expecting to have ad breaks every 12 and a half seconds.
That being said, I still plan on doing what I do normally, which is turn the Fox broadcast waaaaaaay, way down, and pop on IMSA Radio on the laptop.

Interesting backpedaling by Hindy on the GTD spec. A couple of weeks ago he ripped IMSA on MWM for having the nerve to require cars entering their championship to provide full technical data and called them gutless for not creating their own class. Now he is praising them when he is standing in the press box at Daytona.

If the Joest and rumored Penske efforts happen for the 2018 season, things could get real interesting for IMSA. Of course, everything will depend on how things go this year, but it is going to be good next year if things go smoothly and both show up to add to the class.
