Especially since they've been around quite a while and are a factory team that GM wouldn't let implode like this (barring privateer Audi effort in top level).

That's good news, glad it'll continue through 2019. Though what remains to be seen is what happens after then, given Ford's interest in a DPi program. Personally I'd like to see the GT's be offered for privateers if the full manufacturer backing ends post 2019, and I hope that's what happens. Would be a shame to just cease competition completely given how good a package the GT is.

Stevenson will do one last race at Petite Le Mans, their last race ever as a team.

Go out there and win Petite Le Mans boys. :(

Now I'm not 100% on the costs at the moment, but would it be feasible to have a P and GTLM only set of races at Mexico and Silverstone? Just throwing it out there after the WEC's recent schedule release. The ALMS in the early years used to head over to England, and I was just wondering if it could have any potential with the WSCC now? I know the GTD teams would probably not like another round let alone 2 added to the schedule, but perhaps the factory teams of the series could do it? Mexico is much closer and is probably more realistic as an addition.

Just a bit of ramble on an off weekend for the WSCC. :P

The ELMS will most likely absorb the Silverstone event if its feasible. Though it will retain the 4hr event there.

Though theres no reason why IMSA couldnt go to Mexico. Given that the COTA round has been dropped.

I forgot about COTA being dropped, would really like to see that then.

As for Silverstone you're probably right, though don't they (ELMS) already do a 12 hour event on the weekend of the 6 hour?

Here's a late link for a clip that shows the 911 RSR's noise pretty well. It screams.
Yeah, just blistering at times. I love it.
No video needed.

Too bad for Stevenson.

Some shots of the autos they used and past/present drivers with recent race winners Matt Bell and Robin Liddell from LRP.

ELMS do a 4h of silverstone on the same weekend as the WEC 6h of Silverstone.

I dont think the ELMS do a race linger then 4h.

Smart of them not to chase any new sales at this time either. Granted, nobody wants it right now anyway, but it does show that at least someone from that "partnership" (more like Riley forgetting how to build a prototype and sticking Multimatic with a heap of garbage before they severed ties) cares about actually having a car that is worth a damn.

Also kind of shocked that the FIA/ACO is working with them on this. Did not see that bit of this whole thing happening at all.

Ah, so that's who they were. Weren't they also testing a Ford V6 in this as well?
Not really test, more like they just got an off the shelf 3.2 Twin-Turbo Ecoboost V6 from Roush for the project, then put it in a 6-8 year old LMP2 chassis. It was pretty much an independent effort, with no feedback or support from Ford directly. They had been doing the project from 2012-13/14, and performed so badly in the ~5 races they did enter, they would finish behind LMPC and GT3 Cup guys.

Probably will but I think that an Oreca will win a race this year. Those have been the strongest of the Spec P2s and I think have the most likely shot of playing spoiler this year.

Probably not, given the Nissan will be fully developed and improved by then, Penske can't really suck (the Acura being based on an Acura) and the Mazda will be much better.

Yea, I can't see the Caddies running away with it next year, as think everyone will have at least caught up by then. Though to be honest, they're not that far off now, as Nissan/ESM haven't been too far away, and the Oreca's are improving all the time, and JDC guys have been the best of that bunch so far, so like @AnthonyD1993 I could see an Oreca win this year.

But generally, with all the talk of BoP this, and BoP that, things have been handled rather well with DPi to be honest, as quite simply the Caddy is the best developed of the current cars, and whilst they've dominated per-say, they haven't exactly left everyone for dead.
