That's typical of the biggest complainers. Just be honest and admit you'll still watch. This "I'm leaving the sport for good" schtick has to go and it makes you lose credibility. Be honest with yourselves.
I've trashed the sport numerous times (just look at this thread, the last, and the one before that) but haven't said I'll stop watching.

When I said "you" I didn't necessarily mean you personally. It's a blanket statement to the active complainers all over social media, here, the comments section to NASCAR articles etc. I haven't heard one positive thing come out of @mwoodski NASCAR postings from Edwards being two faced to the new format and various negativity in between in this thread. It's borderline annoying. Can't please them all. Give NASCAR your suggestions. It's much more productive than complaining on a forum.

I'll probably be watching the 500 this weekend because my Dad and I have made a bit of a tradition of it. I've made an effort in some form or another to watch every race since at least 2004 (race memories get foggy before then), most of them all the way through, but after this coming Sunday I sure won't be turning it on to watch. IndyCar and WeatherTech from then on.

Well, it's time. All the speculation and all the anticipation will come to a head this weekend. We will get our first impressions of this new NASCAR in the top 3 Touring Series. Tonight, it's Trucks. XFINITY action is tomorrow. And of course on Sunday, it's the big dogs in Cup with the Daytona 500. You waited a long time... but NASCAR is back! Say what you want about this new age of NASCAR, but it's still NASCAR at the end of the day.

Having said all of this, enjoy all of this weekend's action. Good luck to all drivers and teams in this long grind from February to mid-November.

Pretty much the same here as after this weekend there is at least one series' that I follow running a race with the lone exception of Easter weekend which even NASCAR has off. I'll likely tune into the road course races and maybe one or two others though.

Don't have cable (haven't had for 5+ years now) plus I doubt my craptastic internet can handle streams very well, unless I somehow score free tickets or something to one of the Pocono races I won't be seeing a NASCAR race this year.

IndyCar, though... I'll be getting my tickets again this year, although I might try for Watkins Glen this year along with Pocono.

Now the truck race is about to start. It will be interesting to see how the award of points at stages throughout the race will affect the quality of the racing. :nervous:

That was the worst start in a NASCAR race I've ever seen. Okay, it happened in the tri-oval. But what possible excuse can there be for a field of professional racers to take out so many (12-14?) cars in what amounted to one lap of racing?

Inexperienced drivers + pack racing = disaster.

Shall I remind you of the 2012 Daytona 500?

They're bump-drafting and/or pushing everywhere on the track! Hard duty for such twitchy things driven by speedway rookies.

That settles it. Both leaders out in an act of ritual suicide - all for the sake of stage points. Well, maybe it does build the excitement and the TV numbers??

Matt Crafton seems to have the right idea. Hang out at the back thru the first stage and let everyone wreck each other.

Kyle Buschlike save by JH Nemechek

Edit: Sauter wins stage 2. Looks like everyone realized there's no sense risking a wreck for some points when the race is only half over. All crossing the line single file.
