Oh my god.

You lost against Greece?

Yup. And the best part is that I didn't know about it until I read the news just now.

That's how much interest I have left for Uncle Danny and his goons.

Just checked your group:

Netherlands
France
Sweden
Bulgaria
Belarus
Luxemburg

Can you finish 2nd in that group? Somehow, I still think so. It's possible. But I sadly wouldn't be surprised if you finish behind Sweden.

Well Japan got robbed last night against the UAE.

Goal which wasn't given where the ball had clearly crossed the line.

Belgium lost their first game under Martinez and Henry 2-0 to Spain and the Belgian media have gone ape-**** over it, its their first game and it was a friendly!

Bulgaria won't be easy for the Netherlands.

Their lose against Greece would be down to having Zoet in goal, Blind in centre back which I do not rate at all but I rather have Van Dijk starting over him and confusingly calling up Berghuis to start over the likes of Klaassen or Propper.

England are on at 5pm, Wales on at 7.45pm tomorrow, don't know what time the other Home Nations are on....

Watching Slovakia v England... god, it's utterly dire. I am seriously considering turning it off and doing something more entertaining, like licking piss off nettles.

No but Big Sam has reinvigorated the players and it'll be a totally different team and proposition than Roy's dreary unimaginative side.

Italy is on tomorrow at 2:45 ET. Hoping for a loss.

"England spared embarrassment by Lallana" according to Phil McNulty, since when was a draw away to a team that had qualified for the Euros an "embarrassment"? What a prick.

We did play against 10 men for a large chunk of the second half and it was another poor performance. Bad first touches, not precise enough and every one stood still watching the man with the ball. Same old England, same old problems. Just not good enough I'm afraid.

A team which got as far in the tournament as England.

I was at the game tonight and make no mistake, England were very poor. Allerdyce might only be in his first game and just a handful of training sessions but they were terrible... compared to what they are expected to do.

England are not the 3-0 or 4-0 team that they are perceived to be. Teams know how they play, they know how they misuse and misplace players and consequently England are, more often than not, grinders. They will grind out a 1-0 win just as they did tonight.

And I'm devastated. I got totally wrapped up in supporting my current adoptive country and thought they did very well when down to 10 men which, in the interest of fairness, was justified. Škrtel deserved to go. But the lad who came on, #5 Norbert Gyömber, was outstanding. Thought he did very well.

England fans were silent right up until the 96th minute and Rooney got booed mercilessly. It was great.

But still, as my English friend said to me before the game tongue-in-cheek, "You'll be watching history, lads. Sir Sam's first game on the Road To Russia."

It was a great evening out, just a shame about the final sucker punch. :indiff: Onwards to Wales vs Austria in Vienna next month!

Can't remember the last time we scored five.

#topofthetable

You put six past Gibraltar in Euro qualifying. ;)
I also can't remember the last time I saw a Scotland game as they're not on "council" tv anymore. We get England games on itv, complete with biased commentary, but Scotland games? Naw.

At least we should get the Scotland vs England games this time.

Yeh, I noticed that... the Scotland game was on Sky, but England was on STV...

Not sure if I'm looking forward to the first game against England - it's on a Friday night, so it will almost certainly be a pub occasion - what could possibly go wrong?!

Wales have had the same trouble. No live games on S4C (Welsh language channel) because they're always on Sky. I think these qualifiers might be the first time in a long while though where Wales games are on domestic telly.

Why is it different for two of the British nations and not England? Do England games fall under the "too big to leave terrestrial" category?

Probably just that ITV are prepared to come up with the bucks to outbid Sky for England matches but they are not for the other home nations matches.

It's obviously time for Rooney to stop playing for England but he's only 10 games away from breaking Peter Shilton's appearance record so he's not going anywhere anytime soon. (Same with United because he's only 5 goals away from breaking Bobby Charlton's goalscoring record) And because he's so guff now, it's getting more and more difficult to shoehorn him into the team; Harry Kane was getting murdered up top on his own by the Slovak defence whilst Rooney was in the England half picking up sideways passes from the centre backs.

I couldn't believe it when Allerdyce said 'I cant tell Rooney where to play, he has more international experience than me' i bet Rooney was like 'Lol i'll play in goal then!'

Wales's turn tonight, Ireland's game in Serbia might be postponed due to crap weather....

Bale is now Wales' second all-time top goalscorer with 24 goals. He leapfrogged Dean Saunders (22), Ivor Allchurch (23) and Trevor Ford (23) with a brace against Moldova. Just 4 short of Ian Rush's all-time record (28).

Beat Moldova 4-0, solid start to the campaign. Bring on Austria!

Good stuff from Wales last night, took a while to break Moldova down but the floodgates opened once we did, next game is the toughest in the group IMO, away to Austria...

Outside of Europe, Canada will be out tonight if they don't beat Honduras by 3 clear goals, while the USA can be eliminated if they lose to group leaders Trinidad and Guatemala beat whipping boys St. Vincent and the Grenadines - but the goal difference might come to USA's rescue, as USA is +12 ahead and STVG's worst defeat in the group so far is 6-0 (twice!).
