Damn good drive by Ryan. Guessing Rossi will get a talking to that's not much different than that received by the pace car driver. :scared:

"Put your hands up! Put your hands up for Detroit!" That late race drama was pretty nuts in the second Detroit race! I also finally got to see the highlight most others would care about other than the race itself- that Corvette Pace/Safety Car crash. Face palm, much? Especially considering the GM headquarters is just across the water. Though I'm pretty sure Ford and Chrysler were probably laughing their butts off.

Good weekend of racing nonetheless from Detroit. Or MoTown. Or Hockeytown. Up next for IndyCar... Texas Motor Speedway! That's right. Texans of GTPlanet (or in my case, fellow Texans of GTPlanet), are you ready for IndyCar to bring the noise this coming Saturday night at Texas Motor Speedway? Texas puts on a great show for stock cars and Indy cars, so this next race should be quite a doozy.

I guarantee only one of those two is going to get chewed out Monday morning and despite both losing control, its not gonna be the guy who's tires looked more sketchy then a Craigslist ad.

Can I just say how unimpressed I was by Ferrucci? You'd think as the only american driver in Haas' lineup he'd be good (nudge nudge Gunther) but he did not impress at all in Detroit. Not only that, but looking at his record, he really doesn't look like anything special. Has zero championships to his name in the six years he's been racing...

To be honest, I wouldn't recommend judging Ferucci on that weekend alone. Coyne just had a bad weekend. In Race 2, he was going through the field with Bourdais.

Shame for Bourdais having such a rough go of it this weekend. The "guest" pace car driver is now immortalized, and Ryan wins an unexpected race...bizarrely. Rossi definitely made a huge cock (note he was on full push-to-pass prior to the braking zone).

TBF, Rossi had to do something to try to counter RHR behind him closing in 2 seconds per lap. It was obvious he was saving tires, and two major lockups proved why he was saving tires. That was a drive by a man in the lead that didn't want to finish 2nd because he wanted all the points he could get, but ultimately had it slip out of his hands.

I’ve heard a lot of people getting upset with Rossi about his comments after Sunday. And while I can see why some would take them the wrong way, I don’t think he meant to put the blame on his team. I think the biggest problem INDYCAR coverage has right now is trying to shove a microphone in drivers faces right after major moments. I’ve always felt drivers should be allowed a few minutes to soak up everything that happened, good or bad, before being bombarded by media

Thought both races were solid races. They need to be at Texas the week after Indy though. They lose momentum gained from the 500. I am fine with Belle Isle but not after Indy.

Texans of GTPlanet, native and non-native... are you ready for the IndyCar Series to bless the Lone Star State with high-speed action only IndyCar can provide? Tonight is the DXC 600 to be held at Texas Motor Speedway. Enjoy the action!

Good luck to all drivers and teams tonight at Texas.

I’m excited for the race because its at a perfect time here in Australia, and not many Indycar races are, but I’m also very nervous for the race. Indy showed the aero kit can cause accidents, and at such speeds, Texas is the last place you want to have an accident with so many other cars around you. Hopefully we have a clean and exciting race.

In the 8 or so laps completed before the fire, the racing was/is looking to be pretty good. Maybe still a little early to judge though, but that battle for 2nd was getting intense.

DOnt get me wrong, Wickens is doing a great job. But I can’t wait to see how people respond to Alonso’s first full season  “WOW LOOK AT THAT 38 YEAR OLD ROOKIE GO!”

I've never seen tires just completely degrade like they're doing tonight. That's just not safe and a shame for Penske who seems to be hurting the most. Their setup must somehow be aiding the wear process I imagine.

Ooh Wickens...

Also... the 27 crew has been waaaaay off the ball on pit stops all day today. Problems with feeling in every stop so far today

That was a race. Not as insane as last year, but still a good race...however, almost everyone on the outside of 1-2 were screwed all night. Rossi and Wickens(snake bit again it seems) were the two I could easily see getting runs through 1, just to lose all their momentum and end up losing spots out of 2.

Carpenter owes Wickens a car, and Power screwed himself over.

On a more local note, it's to the point trying to get anything our of the track over the phone is near impossible...honestly this is a good thing. Means that people are coming to the race, and at the same time it's not as much of a distraction.

That race went better than I expected it to go. The best cars got rewarded by the drivers being able to drive away, but you could still pass and as the track got cooler, the better the racing got.

Congrats to the winner and roll on Road America.

Karun Chandhok talking about how Scott Dixon was faster than Ralf Schumacher in a test in similar conditions as he obtained the run sheets due to working for the Williams Heritage area.

That's pretty incredible and just shows Dixie.

IMO, Alonso's victory at LeMans means he will most likely run IndyCars full-time starting next year.

Hello, Wisconsin!

Road America is coming up on the IndyCar schedule. So are you ready for IndyCar to rock Wisconsin? You usually would have the Milwaukee Mile as well as Road America being raced. Four+ miles of challenging winding roads will put the IndyCar drivers to the test. My first taste of Road America was in 1999 with (then) CART racing it. I think Gil de Ferran dominated that race that year. My man (and eventual champion) Juan Pablo Montoya did manage to place decently in that 1999 race. I honestly think Road America is maybe the best Grand Prix-style race track in America. Even if you were to throw money at it to fancify everything and put it to FIA Grade One certification, this is still one of the most intense circuits in the United States. This weekend should be a good one when Road America is raced on by the IndyCar Series.

I surely will want to check out this weekend's race at Road America. Good luck to all drivers and teams this weekend in Elkhart Lake.
