Hi all,

I had an idea yesterday where I thought all the sports threads that JohnBM01 created, should continue on as it could include a lot of GTP members. I personally don't have the time or passion for broadcasting like John did. So I thought perhaps other sport enthusiasts could help fill in the gaps and continue the tradition of annual sports threads in his name. NFL is my favorite sport, by far and away, I could be in charge of creating the new season threads and weekly matchup summaries.

I particularly loved that he knew who loved which team during those weekly NFL matchup summaries. I'll admit I only know a few member's favorite NFL teams, so I went ahead and created a google spreadsheet where all GTP sports fanatics can enter in their GTP handle/username and select their favorite sports team.

Like I mentioned, I really only have time for the NFL sports section, so this idea would require other members to continue the tradition for the other popular sports section here (NBA, MLB, WNBA, NHL, etc.). So, if you'd like to help continue John's tradition and take responsibility for creating the annual threads and writing about upcoming matchups in that thread (using the Google Sheet below, once a week or more if you have the time), let me know and I'll make note of it below.

Below is a link to the Google Sheet, I can't protect the dropdown range and allow users to use the dropdown, so please don't delete or modify the dropdown or other member's names, etc. Google Sheet

Sports Section Managers
NFL - @Jump_Ace
NBA -@kjb
NHL -
NCAAF -
NCAAB - @Joey D
WNBA -
MLB -
EPL -
F1 -

Of course, if there's a sport not listed that you'd like to 'manage', let me know and I can add it to the list above as well as the google sheet. And to clarify, anyone can add their name to the sports tabs in the Google Sheet to let the appropriate managers know who's teams will be matched up.

I'm not sure if this will take off or not, but I figure it never hurts to try and I know John spent a lot, a lot, of time doing writeups, news updates, etc for us. It feels right to me, to try and continue that tradition.

Man, I love this idea. While I probably follow the NFL the most, NCAAB is a close second and I'd be happy to carry that torch.

I'm not sure if you can update the drop downs in the Google Sheet, but I'm going to need the Oakland Golden Grizzlies.

I mean, it's not complicated. One of us will just make a sports thread for each new season ala John as each season comes up. I do miss me some fantasy football leagues though. Steve was a great comish.

As long as no one expects anything spectacular, put me down for college football. I wouldn't object if someone else wanted to claim it or tag team it.

And I need NDSU added to the Google sheet, please, @Jump_Ace.
