So, apparently Kyle Busch has failed pre-race inspection twice and will be starting from the rear.

A Toyota failing inspection? Yep, NASCAR is definitely back.

Lol yeah all the other manufacturers have an awesome track record of never failing pre and post race inspections...

Oh, I'm not denying that at all. It just always seemed like the Toyota teams either fail more often or get reported more often.

If Kyle was the only one to fail, that's a surprise. I honestly figured at least 5-10 would fail today being the first race back in a while.

Just when I thought they did it. Leave it to wrecky Stenhouse to blow a goundbreaking and landmark moment in sports

I understand why it's the case, but it truly is so freakin weird seeing the stands completely empty, especially when the in-car cameras pans over to the grandstands.

It feels like watching a Time Attack race from the early 2010's.

Byron cuts a tire and hits the wall twice. Drives away but has quite a bit of damage.

So far it seems racing gods hate Hendrick Motorsports today

EDIT: Bizarro World 400. That right there is gold

Interesting finish. Veterans, rookies, a mix of brands. Kenseth impressed, for sure. In all a promising restart to the 2020 season. Now, a flurry of races in just a few days. It's really good to see and hear real racing after a worrying wait.

Sometimes with no fans in the stands, I think about how NASCAR has had some trouble of late filling the grandstands. This, though, is completely surreal not having fans in the stands while the racers are racing the track. The important thing here is to try to limit the spread of this pandemic. You can take away the fans, but you can't take away the hard racing. I tend to think fans make sports. I still applaud NASCAR for coming back and proving more live sports post-quarantine. To AnthonyD1993's point from earlier, NASCAR will set the tone for various motorsports coming back from quarantine. At least, in terms of top-tier motorsports. Great for this all to return!

More NASCAR to come! Check in this Tuesday night, this Wednesday night, and this coming Sunday. So I don't forget... congratulations to Kevin Harvick.

As an off-topic note, I saw Ryan Newman in 2020 is racing in his 21st NASCAR season. Never realized this guy been around THAT long!

I got up at 5:47 am to watch the race, and I wasn't disappointed with what I saw - despite the empty stands. I can live with that though because the on-track action is still just as intense, and the Supercars aren't due to start again until June 27. Any live racing during this time is fantastic, and the effort that everyone has gone to to put this show on is great. (Isn't it ironic how a country with literally a 100x more deaths from COVID than Australia runs top level national motorsport before we do...)

Not to change the subject but US also has 100x as many people.

Glad we’re getting racing back and the lady in black under the lights on Wednesday.
