Anyone see the “15% or more” and “15 mins or less” pieces of paper he printed from a computer and taped to Ty Dillon’s wall when they showed him on camera? Lol

Richmond race a lot cleaner looking then the last race at Bristol. Probably because they took the resets away.

One particularly funny aspect of the Richmond iRacing weekend was that Angela Ruch, after all the trash she and her husband have talked this year, managed to get lapped in an incident-free 10 lap heat race.
It's Angela Ruch. I'm still not sure how she's more qualified than Kevin Conway.

Always appreciated NASCAR but never really been a follower so I don’t have much knowledge on the series. Since isolation has started I’ve watched a few of the race replays from previous years they’ve officially uploaded to their YouTube channel and I was wondering...

Why are the races split up into stages? For example this years Daytona 500 was 65/65/70. I remember watching the 500 a few years ago and it straight through to 200 laps. I could only gather from a snippet of commentary it has something to do with points

NASCAR split it into stages so that they could award drivers who ran well but for some reason didn't finish well additional points.

Sorry. Blame Brian france

Thanks, has it ever made a real difference in the championship contention or just boost up the points of mid-field drivers?

Ryan Newman just announced on the iRacing broadcast that when racing returns, he’ll be back in a car. :D
That is welcome news, especially since Chastain will likely be replacing Kyle Larson around the same time. Also, I'm surprised this didn't claim his career, but then again, he has been practicing on Iracing. A friend of mine recently competed with him.
Lastly, today's race was such a banger. Needed about 10 more laps IMO

Well, that was unexpected. With Newman announcing he'll be back in the #6 when they go back racing and Kenseth getting the #42 ride, where does that leave Chastain?

I imagine that CGR wants to keep Chastain on the sidelines until 2021, so they can continue to monitor his development. While the NASCAR world seems to be going cray over this development, I highly doubt Kenseth'll be in the 42 next year as well, unless he either A) lights the track on fire, or B) Ross just completely drops the ball.

Apparently CGR also called up Carl Edwards, and it took a couple days before Carl called back up to decline. Some are speculating that the delay meant that Carl could've been seriously considering a return.

Pockrass tweeted that CGR would’ve had to buy out Chastain’s contract with Kaulig and Nutrien as well, but that just seems to be making excuses. Kenseth was just an easy one year deal with no strings attached for a reliable driver they know probably won’t wreck the car every week

  • Sunday May 17 | Darlington 400
  • Wednesday May 20 | Darlington 310
  • Sunday May 24 | Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte
  • Wednesday May 27 | Charlotte 310
  • Sunday May 31 | Martinsville
  • Wednesday June 3 | Bristol
  • Sunday June 7 | Atlanta
  • Sunday June 14 | Miami
The proposed schedule so far. Looks like no live pit stops for the first few races back at least. Don’t know what that means, if it’s competition cautions at the end of every fuel window or what. The Coke 600 will be a looooong race.

Are they planning to run the Charlotte 310 on the oval? Or are they planning to go back in the fall like usual to run the road course?

Both races will be on the oval, they’re opening with races using the 550hp package since those are the cars the teams had prepared prior to the shutdown.

I imagine they’re planning on running the roval in fall still since they wanted to keep the lineup of the 10 playoff races intact, but the schedule until then could be pretty much anything
