Democratically elected leader of the American people. Either Trump isn't a racist piece of ****, or, the American people are on the whole, racist pieces of ****, or, America isn't a democracy.

In any case, the situation is vile.
America is a democracy. Americans crave freedom and liberty to do whatever they want. Personal responsibility, well, not so much.

What is racism? Is it free speech? Is it thought? Is it something in the human heart? If so, it cannot be legislated.

Almost all of us are not racist, including our president, just stupid to the plight of others.

On a sorta friendlier topic, anyone think Denny Hamlin sounded a bit off in the post crash interview? I know he had only smacked the wall harder than a Mike Tyson punch a few minutes earlier, but he shouldn't have been put in front of a camera. He didn't slur his speech, but he sounded a bit like a fighter who just got knocked out. Wasn't completely there, yet was supposedly cleared by a Dr.?

After the race, Goodyear released a statement reemphasizing the importance of right-front tire pressures being maintained according to their engineer's recommendations.

It seems possible ALL the Joe Gibbs cars were pushing that envelope.

FWIW, I don't think Americans are racist pieces of ***, but I do think DJT is... so, I'd conclude your democracy, such as it exists, is failing its people - for one reason or another. Russia is a democracy too... so are we, in the UK.

Anyway. I don't know if Childress is best buds with Trump or not, but it's a bad show if (given the support shown on the ground at 'Dega), Reddick has had to withdraw his statement.

Looks like I picked the wrong season to get back into NASCAR... between Mother Nature hatin' the start times, and the pussy-grabbin' leader of the free-world persecuting drivers directly on social media, it certainly has becoming challenging to follow.

Personally, I'm grateful to NASCAR for staging all these innovative races to entertain us under such awful circumstances. I'm also glad the F1 world has finally joined in.

I've no issue with NASCAR as an organisation in any of this.

Just have them all go down pit road every lap!

It can't be worse than the Charlotte Roval, right?

Well, Turn 1 is far more spacious at Daytona so plenty more time to get it slowed down. I'm more concerned about when they head back on the banking after the horseshoe due to something these heavy cars normally don't deal with: Transitions.

That bus stop on the back stretch will have a bunch of victims. Surely they would have a practice session for that race.

They gave the Xfinity guys one for the Indy road course last weekend. I don’t see why they wouldn’t for the cup guys.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. He just tested positive last Friday. Now, on Monday and Tuesday he tests negative. Wouldn't that mean he has had the virus for at least 2 weeks prior to Monday then? I am not 100% sure, but I think the virus lasts in your body more than 3 days.

But then that would've meant that under NASCAR'S current monitering protocol in place (Which from what one reporter has said, was very strict and persistent), he would have had to have tested positive at some point in those two weeks before Indy as well.

DING DING DING DING! We have a winner!

(or our testing methods are not very accurate?) <------- This one

He was asymptomatic and was only tested when his wife found out she had it. NASCAR's monitoring protocols don't seem to test for the virus, they look for symptoms of it, so... yeah, he could easily have had it for a couple of weeks prior.

The plot thickens. I thought for sure they’d have the 550hp high downforce package to keep the speeds reasonable between the bus stop and turn 1. Maybe they’ll add a chicane coming out of turn 4 of the oval like the Roval has before the finish line?

They need to do something to prevent any sort of huge drafting groups (although I'm almost positive that NASCAR turn 1 to the bus stop isn't enough room to get drafts).

Just thought of a funny coincidence: Kyle Busch is THE most recent Nascar driver to have done the Daytona 24 and he spent alot of the testing having to unlearn how the habits he had driving a Cup car. Now he has to relearn those on the exact same track (Assuming it's not slightly altered).

Why would Chevy be yellow? If I had to bet, I would bet on Orange. Orange is the color that Chevy painted all their engine blocks back in the day. Blue is the color that Ford painted all their engine blocks back in the day. Pontiac and Buick also painted their blocks blue. I think a little lighter shade than Ford did. Does Toyota have a standard color?

Safe to assume Ford is blue, Chevy is yellow/orange, and Toyota is red?

Affirmative.

Its brand colors. Ford has always had the "Blue Oval" and Toyota has always been Red while Chevy's Bowtie design has been amber, hence the colors.

Ah, makes sense now. It's based on the color of their emblem. My Father built race engines for a living, so I always think of the car manufactures colors based on the color of their engine blocks.

I guess this is a lot more viable now that underglow tech has moved to LEDs which will be a lot more visible under the track lights, draw extremely little electrical power and won't leave shattered neon light tubes all over the place when a wreck happens.
