The original article is hardly credible and the Jordan link is highly unlikely but there are rumours Hamlin is looking to buy into a team, and it would make sense that Toyota would want another factory-supported team with the loss of the 95. It would be similar to when Dale Earnhardt drove for RCR but ran DEI on the side.

I don’t think the Jordan link is all that unlikely really as he is a fan of NASCAR and sponsors Denny.

It would be nice to see the return of a second competitive Toyota team though.

I can see it. He's had how many surgeries on his back already? He knows there is an end to the cup career at some point, why not invest in a potential future while you have a known income.

Does anyone know for sure yet if Myrtle Beach Speedway is completely closed and going to be demolished? It appears that the last ever race there has been ran, though the track website currently has events planned for the track through next May.
If it is getting demolished, that is a real shame. I have family that lives near there and many times when I came to visit, we would go to the track for various events or ride alongs. It was always a fun experience and if the track is going to be demolished at a later date I will have to try and go there again before it does.

They're just awaiting final approval for the rezoning than the land will be sold (not sure if they have a buyer lined up).

Unlikely as it may be, I really want the 43 to win since they seem to be strongest at plate tracks,....but I also want the 21 to make it into the playoffs,...but I ALSO want the 48 to make it into the playoffs.

One way or another, I'm going to be at least somewhat disappointed tonight.

Edit: I have a feeling that Reddick is gonna be a little less popular in the paddock for a little while.

Top 5 for Bubba and DiBinedetto makes the Chase, a good result.

Gutted for Jimmie though, hopefully he can at least get a win or two before the season is over.

Sorry if I missed something as I don't frequent this thread. Any news/updates on the new spec car recently?

There's been a couple test sessions. IMSA had one test session with the car 2(?) weeks ago, and there was a different test session earlier in the week. Everything seems to be chugging along with the new car.

I think Ross Chastain has won the throwback contest, it's just a shame it won't be anywhere near the front of the field.

So...this has the Twitterverse all, um, atwitter...

Probably just their social media department having a laugh and/or getting the name out there but, then again...if/when DTM goes bust they'll have a bunch of motorsports engineers with not much to do, and there will be new Cup cars (and, one assumes, engines) arriving year-after-next...

I'll be stunned if they join, but I think BMW is down the order of makes who would benefit from the move. They'd have to develop a V8 for NASCAR, or retool one they already have which is still not cheap, the new Dallara (sp) chassis will be out so there's no development there, and it's not a thing a luxury brand would do.

I see BMW going after GT harder once DTM is gone, I think there's a better chance of Opel being attempted.

Opel going to NASCAR....? Yeah.... nope.

These two are near the top of the list for me, since Jeff Burton’s old Gain car is one of my favourite schemes of all time and the 13 is the first ever throwback to my childhood favourite driver Jerry Nadeau
Agreed. That Gain car was my favorite Busch Series scheme. And I really got into NASCAR in the mid-late 90's, so schemes like Nadeau's really stuck with me.

Looks like ANOTHER team will be sold by EOY, as Germain Racing will be losing it's sponsor.

I'm pretty surprised it took GEICO this long to split with them considering their performance. Their situation reminds me of Foyt's IndyCar team where they have a sponsor that is far more dedicated than what they deserve.
