Legendary NFL coach Don Shula has died. He was 90 years old at the time of his passing. He spent 33 years as a head coach. Among his accomplishments: 347 career wins, coach of the NFL's only unbeaten team (1972 Miami Dolphins), two-time Super Bowl Champion, 1968 NFL Champion, and four-time Coach of the Year. My condolences go out to all whom have known and loved this legendary coach.

Various National Football League notes to come...

* On some different notes, the NFL has cancelled the 2020 International Games. These are were the games in which teams would play in London, England, UK; or Mexico City, Mexico. Or at least... not hold those games in England or Mexico.

* The Houston Texans reportedly started a new job position. They have started a position called Hygiene Coordinator. This individual is responsible for keeping practice facilities and other team facilities clean. This position probably also has ties to dealing with things like COVID-19/Coronavirus.

* Frank Gore has signed a one-year deal to join the New York Jets.

* The NFL is set to release schedules this Thursday. The NFL is hoping to start the season properly and on schedule. This also means we'll learn many of the scheduling of games.

That's all from me. Any news you'd like to share on your teams? How are your teams doing during quarantine?

I had a chance to review the schedule for the Houston Texans in 2020. Here are our opponents for this season:

! = division opponent (AFC South)

HOU's HOME OPPONENTS: Baltimore, Cincinnati, Green Bay, Jacksonville!, New England, Minnesota, Indianapolis!, Tennessee!
HOU's AWAY OPPONENTS: Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Detroit, Jacksonville!, Cleveland, Indianapolis!, Tennessee!

...and here is the schedule for the Houston Texans this season:

--- PRESEASON 2020 (TO BE DETERMINED) ---
AUG 13-17: at Minnesota
AUG 20-24: Seattle
AUG 37-30: at New Orleans
SEP 3-4: Dallas

--- REGULAR SEASON 2020 ---
SEP 10: at Kansas City (THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
SEP 20: Baltimore
SEP 27: at Pittsburgh
OCT 4: Minnesota
OCT 11: Jacksonville!
OCT 18: at Tennessee!
OCT 25: Green Bay
NOV 1: --- bye week ---
NOV 8: at Jacksonville!
NOV 15: at Cleveland
NOV 22: New England
NOV 26: at Detroit (THANKSGIVING DAY)
DEC 6: Indianapolis!
DEC 13: at Chicago
DEC 19 or 20: at Indianapolis!
DEC 27: Cincinnati
JAN 3, 2021: Tennessee!

So the Texans have only one night game and one other game played on Thanksgiving among the more interesting matches. There is a whole lot of uncertainty here. It is tough for me to confidently say we will be any sort of baller team even if Deshaun Watson plays out of his mind. That said, I'm predicting at best... maybe 9 wins and just miss the Playoffs. And if we do make the Playoffs, our time won't last too long.

If you want to talk about your team(s)' 2020 schedule and your early thoughts, go right ahead. The floor is yours.

Time for you NFL fans all to be fashion critics. Yay or nay to the Los Angeles Rams' new uniforms: https://bleacherreport.com/articles...orms-for-2020-introduce-nfls-1st-bone-jerseys ?

Personally, the Los Angeles Rams' classic blue and gold colors are my favorite sports uniforms. Blue and gold is my favorite color combination. I even use blue and gold in a lot of my online content and in various games. I even like a bunch of other blue and gold uniforms such as with the NHL's St. Louis Blues. So if you ask me, I say "yay!" I actually like the new uniforms. I don't like them as much as I do the classic blue and gold Rams uniforms, but this is just as sweet. I mean... I love how the blue and gold pop color-wise. I also like the more aggressive ram horn designs.

But... that's me. What say you?

It's like the Rams saw San Diego's desperate attempt to rebrand themselves as A Team in LA People Will Care About™ with their horrible logo last year, and thought "we can beat that."

Remember a guy named Joe Flacco? There is a report I read that Flacco signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets. Could be possibly lift the Jets to be a contender? We shall see.

No Hall of Fame Game will be played this season. The match between the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2020 rendition of this game has been cancelled.

Word has it that Cam Newton found a new team- the New England Patriots. I wonder how THIS is going to work out for Cam...

Superbowl. Or cut before the start of the season.

I'll always be a Cam fan and want to see him do well. But is it going to be hard to cheer for him in Pats uniform. As someone said on Twitter. It's like Han Solo going to work on the Death Star.

Washington announced that they are going to have a review of the team name after the recent events and pressure from investors and sponsors.

Don't think they would be doing this if they weren't going to change it.

My two cents: If the team was being founded today, would it be appropriate? I wouldn't, but I know plenty of beings who would intentionally find worse.

Considering this is money driven as FedEx probably threatened the naming rights money, go full change and make them the D.C. Greenbacks.

Really, this means Mahomes has to really live up to that contract. If someone puts that much faith in you, you'd better deliver. I am not suggesting Mahomes can't deliver- he's won a Super Bowl for goodness sakes! This is just a case of if he can continually and consistently play up to his contract. All I know is- Kansas City got themselves a star QB for years to come.

Assuming he gets all that, maybe more from future contract restructuring, endorsements, and just playing it smart I think he could retire a billionaire. Insane how football money has been increasing.

The one thing I wonder is how the Chiefs will deal with the cap space in the years of that extension. It's going to be interesting to see if the offense or especially defense suffers from money designated to his salary cap hit.

The thermometer in Hades must be dropping very rapidly then. Or go outside and see if you see any of the swine variety sailing up in the air.
Nah, it's happening the way we knew it would. In a time when corporations are afraid to alienate even a single person, a number of them being confronted means it was either change the name or lost the cash. Snyder may be a horrid owner, but he's in it for the money. Pull the money, watch how fast he backtracks to get it again.

Thought of a swerve name, Washington Warlocks.

Meanwhile here in Houston, Texans WR Kenny Stills apparently got arrested for protesting the killing of Breonna Taylor. Either be proud for Stills to take a stand, or feel irked he got himself into this kind of trouble. I'm sort of on the fence here. Really, I feel a bit irked since Stills is one of few WR talent we have after [stupidly] shipping off DeAndre Hopkins.

No more "Washington Redskins." I am fully interested in what the new Washington, D.C. NFL team will be like.

Speaking of the *REDACTED*s:

Unless the 30 other owners (and whomever is representing the Packers) say they want him gone, nothing will happen. He's only changing the name of the Washington group of football players because he is seeing so much backlash AND he can't get a new stadium.

The fact that so much bad was being done is BS and all involved deserve to get their commupence, including those who turned a blind eye.

Unfortunately, the rumor mill turned a bunker buster into a hyper-nuke, so unfortunately a lot of people already shrugged it off because it didn't fit their narrative. Hey, that sounds familiar.

I am hearing that Riverboat Ron is active in a lot of the major workings of the organization, so here's hoping he can get things back to respectability, and manage to make Snyder understand his world is not reality.

THIS JUST IN...

The National Football League has set this schedule for Training Camp:

* JUL 21: rookies report
* JUL 23: QBs and injuries
* JUL 28: all players

So this will be the opportunity for teams to get out and practice in getting ready for the 2020 season.

DE Michael Bennett is hanging it up after 11 seasons in the NFL. He's a three-time Pro Bowl selection and won the Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks. I wish him the best in his retirement. Could be possibly head to the Pro Football Hall of Fame?

Did you know there's a new team out there? Yeah. The Washington Redskins are done. Now we have... the Washington Football Team. Here come the Washington Football Teamers! That is, unless the Washington Football Team decide on a proper name.
