Door Number #20 and have no expectation to the race, but was fortunate getting the slipstream from the backstraight and finish right behind the car in front to qualifiy 3rd.

Lost slipstream early in the race and the A+ driver is very patient and not forcing the issue despite being much quicker than me. Let him go once I made a mistake and finished 5th. I only have middle of the pack pace and it's slipstream that get me the result so one and done for me.

Yeah, today was a one and done also for me. Started in 16th but made ground into the top 10 early on.

Had some good battles whilst trying to stay in touch for a top 5 with plenty of bumping and rubbing going on, but nothing really dirty.

Then comes the final lap going into the last turn. One of the guys ahead just turns into the guy beside him and proceeds to push him into a spin and off the track. Avoided all of it, went past the pair of them for an 8th place finish.

**Edit**
So just watched the replay back. Below is the final corner incident the Mugen Castrol car simply turned right hand down on the black and white car.

The last corner of the race and ten cars are within that amount of track? This is going to be fun.

Some prior engagements meant I was only able to race the last session. After a week where my DR has tanked I was hopeful of being a low rank in a decent split, but alas I was door 2.

Started qualifying with a no slip banker (48.4) and then overcooked T1 on my second flyer. Ended up Q3. Not too shabby.

in the race I got a great start and entered T1 in 2nd. At T2 Q2 charged through the inside line and I took evasive action to avoid an off and possible penalty. P4 slips through on the inside and I exit P3. Several laps of a well behaved train then ensue before I make small error at T4 and P4 ( the guy who dived at T2) gets alongside. I lift and let him by, big mistake. It turns out he is much slower than me through the final sector and I am constantly braking early and losing momentum. P5, who is a serial dirty driver, then catches us. I persist in avoiding running up the back of P3, but P5 decides on lap 9 that he’ll use me as a guardrail and brakes ridiculously late and pushes me wide to get past. Cue 4 laps of the most heinous swerving and blocking you can imagine and the loss of any chance for a podium for both of us. Luckily we had an 8 second gap to 6th.

Ultimately I can’t get past his infuriatingly dirty driving and finish P5 for 94 points with 6th now only 2.5 seconds behind. I’ll take it, but I can’t help feeling like I lost a podium spot by being too willing to concede on the back straight.

Edit: The replay shows that the P3 “dive” on lap 1 was actually him getting punted by the blocker.

It sucks when stuff like that happens.

You give them some space so you can race cleanly and hopefully gain on the next group ahead, only for them to act in a manner that hurts not only their race but also yours.

Should be able to pick up some places if you set your BB to +5 to save your tyres a bit.
I was thinking about that too until I tried it myself in a practice race. Didn't really notice too much of a difference in the tires by Lap 9, maybe slightly less wear than the default brake balance. I also feel as if the handling of the car is slightly affected when braking for turn-ins; you can't point the car as easily with the brake balance set to +5 than you can when left on the default setting, at least in my opinion anyway.

Started P13, dropped back to about P16 after being almost pushed off the track at Graham Hill Bend, ended P11. Absolute mayhem the whole way through. I didn't have high expectations going into this after the Yaris race and it turned out better than I had imagined, so not going again!!

1st Slot: One and done (only because family obligations over ruled my racing today). Maybe there will be time for last slot tonight - we will see.

WHAT AN OUTSTANDING RACE!!!

Q12, P11 finish, bested my time trial time by almost a second (1:53), and had no race incidents. It was a well rounded field as Q1 ran a 1:51 and the rest of us were within 4-5 seconds (I would would say well balanced field). Front pack took off which left 8-14 in our own little pack and that is pretty much how it stayed until L9 when every one P13 back dropped off.

Who cares about DR points (probably lost all I had . . . just checked and lost 238 leaving me with 4), SR back up to 99, and gained 3 points for Ireland!

I really liked the handling of the car, the track was superb (as usual), and hopefully we will see more of these Nation's Cup races in the future. Biggest disappointment was no CRB. I probably lost it when I think on L?? I must have went both tires off track coming around T3 (I thought I had left side still on curb stones) but didn't affect the mood of the race.

Enjoy your racing!

Started 18th, Finished 14th mainly due to others going off. A random 3 second penalty on lap 1 (sort of my fault anyway, tried something at Westfield as the car ahead got a poor exit). Screwed up paddock hill on the last lap which cost me a couple of positions. 63 points, one and done for me. Nice running into @LVS_1986 in the lobby aswell, well done on beating me.

well, on the plus side, I've learnt the line through Surtees, finally!

Slot 1, qualified around 10th (I can't actually remember) Punted into oblivion at Graham Hill on lap 5, limped round in last place to rescue my SR.
Slot 2, qualified 7th, up to 4th by the end of lap 1, then seemingly EVERY corner for the next few laps got divebombed to loose a place or two, was in last place again by lap 7 (but at least this time not detached off the back), helped by a few mistakes from others was up to 14th on lap 12, made a stupid mistake into Dingle Dell for a .5 second penalty so dropped to 15th on the line.

I'm done for today.

I enjoyed the daily race back in October with the same car so I had to do this. Qualifying went about what I expected with no slipstream, 14th and 1:48.9. Turn 1 I was push passed all the way back to 19th and I was fine with that since I could take it easy at the back while others battled among themselves. Somehow it worked out in my favor, 4 flew off in a choreography at Paddock Hill and I was back to my original starting position. I battled with 13th who constantly defended while the gap from 12th increased more and more. I finally passed him and the rest of the way I was trying to catch up to a 4 sec gap.

I caught up with 12th by the last lap, he lost momentum at Surtees and swerve blocked then pushed me off as I tried passing. I returned the favor by dive passing his side at Stirling's. He began headlight flashing (didn't see it in the race, chase cam is great for this :D) signalling to give back his spot which he wouldn't have otherwise had if he wasn't dirty. Finished 12th with 99 points. Pretty fun race but I'll call it a one and done.

Well, that was.......dull!

Found myself looking up at the lap counter a lot wishing it was closer to the end!

Probably would have been better if I had been fighting near the front.
Quali went badly as seems to be the case with me and these 5 minute sessions.
1sr quali lap was probably good enough for pole until I cut Sheen corner and got it invalidated. 2nd quali lap I had the 0.5 sec penalty to serve and it was awful too. A 1:50.whocares lap.

Started 16th and I just spent the whole race sat behind people fighting tooth and nail for minor positions. When I did get clean air I had decent pace, similar to the leaders but as soon as I caught up to the next group of 3/4 cars I got nudged off or blocked.

I think I finished 13th, it was pretty unremarkable and a disappointment.
Only 42 points too which is my lowest so far.

Restrict myself to one-and-done anyway but I was quite glad to not race that again, console went straight off!

On to Manu on Weds

Nations round 3 - Integra at Brands Hatch

My best track in the game, managed to put 46.6 in timetrial with an optimal time of 46.1. So my hopes were high.

Qualified pole, with a 47.4. Had a good start, kept my spot and then built a 3s gap in about 5 laps. Was thinking the win will be easy, but managed to make a mess of T1 and then gained a 0.5 penalty for shortcutting T3, so the pack was again on me. Then focused again, put decent laps, built the gap to 2s as the 3 cars right behind start fighting. Last 3-4 laps were just about managing the gap and drive safe - did that perfectly and gained a great victory - first one in A+ lobby and my greatest score ever in FIA - 255 points.

Had a great start in Nations in the first 3 rounds, hope to continue on Mount Panorama.

After a painfully frustrating race where the guy in front of me kept defending so ferociously that it allowed the players behind us to close a 4 second gap, I gave it another try in slot 3. Qualified 5th on the grid with a 1:48.595 and managed to be in 3rd by the time we were coming down Graham Hill. One of these positions was gained simply because I started in the right row of cars and the Pole who qualified in 4th did not move over to the right in time. An Italian who started right behind me was hot on my heels though. He was faster than me and went by at Surtees in lap 2. Next in line was the Pole. I noticed that he too was slightly faster than me, but not close enough yet to make his move. Meanhwile, thanks to some infighting the three guys in front failed to pull away. By lap 4 we were still right behind them. A lap later however the leader started to pull away thanks to 2nd and 3rd fighting through Hawthorns. This fighting allowed me to go past the Italian into 3rd, albeit very briefly. He took back his position when I had a bad run out of Stirlings. At the beginning of lap 6 I lost yet another position to the Pole who took an excellent line through Paddock Hill Bend. There was plenty of time for me to go into Druids defensive but since we were only in lap 6 this would've been detrimental for me in the long run. I wish more people would realize this! Instead of defending the crap out of your race just let a faster person go by and hope they put pressure on the people in front of you! Because that's just what happened two laps later :) The Italian had a bad run out of Clark Curve, allowing the Pole to catch up. He then had another bad run out of Paddock Hill and went into Druids defensive. The Pole however was not having any of it and went into his back, sending him off the track. A dirty move without a doubt but had the Italian kept doing that for the remainder of the race it would've hurt everyone and allowed the people behind to catch up.

Anyway, the Italian rejoined the race in 6th with me going up into 4th. I was right on the Pole's bumper as he seemed to be struggling a bit over the next lap (he got no penalty for ramming off the Italian by the way). Ultimately though he pulled himself together and left me behind. For the final four laps I was just minding my own business, watching the Pole slowly catch up with a Portugese guy in 2nd. When he had finally caught him in the final lap I admit I was kinda hoping for another incident :mischievous: Did not materialize  No matter though, I went across the line in a very happy 4th position!

I was at the front and still wishing for it to be over. Had FOUR MORE LAPS TO GO! Wish it been Indy, May have been better with higher tyre wear requiring a pit stop. But, it was a "sprint" race.

Could have done taking the last few laps off that, 9 would have been enough. I qualified poorly, but made loads of positions on the first 2 corners by taking the inside line and passing the carnage that happened on the outside just seconds before! I was around 7th early in the race, and with one or two mistakes and a short half second penalty went between 10th and up to 6th for most of the race.

On the last lap someone pushed past on druids leaving me on the outside dirt but penalties were lax this race, probably for the best as on balance these slow cars race closer so some rubbing and minor taps are expected even with considerate racing. No one was intentionally dirty in my race, at least not to me, and I managed to make up that place as they put a wheel in the gravel outside Clark curve allowing me to finish 6th in a tight neck and neck sprint to the line.

Least favourite combination in a while... which was disappointing as I'd been looking forward to it and had a reasonable (for me) amount of practice.

Missed first two but race 3 I mess up qualifying and come 14th. 75% of the race pointless battles trying to clear the back half of the grid.

Not sure if the most annoying thing was the amount of times people dive bombed Surtees meaning we both lost like a second down the straight... or getting a penalty for 2.5 seconds when someone tapped my door as they passed... only then to unghost from the penalty just as someone drove through me resulting in another 1 second penalty for me!

Managed to work my way back up to 11th and when in clear air was starting to catch 10th but was just too far on from pointless battles.

Race 4 I managed to fail even more spectacularly in qualifying by binning it and then getting a penalty which ruined the next lap.

Race was pretty much the same in theres of pointless battles in the wrong part of the track though eventually got clear and up to 10th but by then I'd lost the will to live.

Race 5 I decided to not bother with and have a beer instead.

Not sure if I'll bother with hash brown raceway on Wednesday as I doubt the Ferrari will do well...

Well had to take my son to football (that's proper football with a round ball) so didn't get home till the back of 6, so got one chance at 7:20. Get a bit of practice and feeling fairly good, in the lobby and the just as it goes to quali....I get booted!!!! Brilliant, no idea what the problem is, but this has been happening to me quite often. This a known issue or just me? Put it this way I'm so remote that I'm the best in my area so you can appreciate that my internet isn't always the most stable.

You may need to go to the Options at the top left hand part of the game screen. Select Network and clear your cache. Next, exit the game and turn the system off. Not put it to sleep, but turn it completely off. Turn the system back on, boot up GTS and hopefully, you'll be good to go.
