I do it all the time, so the car behind me(say, 4 seconds behind) doesn't gain time. I'm not pushing the car ahead or trying to psych them out. I'm making sure not to scare them and end up slowing us both. It's one of the ways I keep pace. Something I applied from watching real racing.I'd do the same as them if someone let me
Just hold your line and let them hit you, it's very unlikely you'd get penalised for it. Once you establish that you're not going to get pushed around, they will mostly give you more space.
That's why I keep saying hold that line. I'm not even trying to go two-wide into a corner. We're on a straight. No need to move over and touch me car or move over at all. I'm next to you! You will have the entry into the corner! Don't touch me!
