I'd do the same as them if someone let me

Just hold your line and let them hit you, it's very unlikely you'd get penalised for it. Once you establish that you're not going to get pushed around, they will mostly give you more space.
I do it all the time, so the car behind me(say, 4 seconds behind) doesn't gain time. I'm not pushing the car ahead or trying to psych them out. I'm making sure not to scare them and end up slowing us both. It's one of the ways I keep pace. Something I applied from watching real racing.

That's why I keep saying hold that line. I'm not even trying to go two-wide into a corner. We're on a straight. No need to move over and touch me car or move over at all. I'm next to you! You will have the entry into the corner! Don't touch me!

It's a reasonable approach but if you want to stop getting squeezed then the only real option is to get the elbows out, then they'll think twice about doing it again either in the race or later in the season. Most drivers who put the squeeze on don't want contact either.

I just get tired of the scenario where, I get a run on corner exit. The car ahead chooses the inside line. I don't fight them by trying to do a slipstream pass. I choose the outside because I know I won't get the pass done at that next corner. The player then starts moving mover to me when they have all that other space. I get moved over on the grass or edge of the track.

I'm talking gradually moved over. Not punted or hit over. Really annoying.
I watched the replay of my race today and I think I might have been guilty of this unintentionally. It was the run down to turn 2 where I was a length in front and took a defensive line. The car behind either didn’t get the run I thought out of T1 or had backed off a bit, but either way he stayed a length behind but on the far right of the track (racing line). I gradually moved right before the braking zone but I think I probably inadvertently checked his next move as he seemed to take evasive action as we braked. There was no contact and he didn’t go off, but he lost a lot of momentum for the next right hander. In race I had just assumed he got his turn-in wrong.

I don’t even want to talk about my first slot. After qualifying p8 in a 230 or so point room, I spaced and false started. I got in @KiepeYai ’s way and ****ed up his race too. Sorry man, truly. Not how I wanted that to go.

I ran the 9:40 slot next. I needed some redemption. I ended up in kind of a weird room. Huge DR range, but I had a lot of friendly faces, including some of the guys I raced with in the back during the last slot. I also had the pleasure of sharing the track with @KosmoKazi .

Qualifying went well. I got some space and did my thing, and brought it home with a 46.4 which was good for P2. P1 and p3 were the guys I spent the race with in the first slot, and I knew they were gonna play it fair. I got a great start this time and won the race to T1. I led from there for about the first 5 laps, and then was passed and followed for a few more laps. I took the lead back around lap 10, and the top 3 were all within a second or so. Going into the last lap, it was time for everyone to make their move. I barely kept the lead at T1, and then I was defending with everything I had. The gap was about .3 coming into the final corner. I took a far inside line to prevent the dive and got a horrific exit, and in the end, I needed the finish line to be about a 100 meters closer. P2 with a .014 gap.

Great, great race. This game can be awesome, and I’ve had a few of these races recently.

Today was one of those frustrating GTS days. No overly dirty players in the lobby or anything, but Fuji is always chaotic with T1 and the Dunlop hairpin.

I butchered quali completely and started 17th with door #2. Luckily, my reaction time and start were great, and I was cleanly into 12th by Turn 1, finishing the first lap in 5th. I couldn't believe it. Moved my way up to second in 3 more laps. P1 was completely out of sight, but I assumed he would pit and thus, could be caught (he did, and could, but I didn't).

The good part of the day ended there, though. Soon enough, a divebomb into T1 pushed me to 4th. I fought back and got back to 2nd, only to be punted in the Turn 5 hairpin and go down to 7th.

The worst part came later, though. I had set BB too far forward for the 650S, and my front tires started losing grip. I guess that's what happens when you put zero practice in - can only blame myself.

By lap 10, my braking was completely messed up, and despite braking earlier than I thought I should, I had a massive (accidental, albeit dirty looking) divebomb into the Dunlop hairpin and from then on, struggled in every hard braking zones (which is half the lap time in Fuji). Got a 1sec penalty that demoted me from 2nd to 5th.

Finished 5th, nursing the car home and being called dirty by a pair of drivers involved in that hairpin divebomb - one of them, who had shoved me off in T1 and punted me in T6 prior to that incident. One, done...SR down from 99 to 81.

It's more, recently, to do with the low ranked players. I give them the benefit of the doubt, that they think being close means someone is trying to pass or take them out. Some higher ranked players, they get the side bump from me right away. They know better.

ALMOST my first top 5 at Fuji! I’ll take it. First slot didn’t go well, Q14/P15, pitting after lap 7. So I tried again.

Q10 and then I got through T1 really well and was in top 5. I saw I had enough pace to keep up fairly well so I moved the BB back a little and decided to try the no-stop. I got as high as 3rd as others made pit stops and then hung on in the last few laps for a decent finish.

Fun racing with you. I was also seeking redemption after 2 disastrous attempts at earlier slots. I just tried to save my tires in the draft in P3 and hope you and the other driver would pull us away from the field which worked great. Waited until last lap to attempt a move and nearly blew it by outbraking myself in T1. I saw you take the tight defensive line in final corner and went wide for the fast exit and it worked out.

Well, in spite of 2 great scores this season, overall Nation's has been a bitter disappointment. I did the first 4 slots tonight, and got penalties on the first lap of EVERY. SINGLE. RACE.

Slot 1: Qualify 9th, get nudged wide after someone gets punted into me, and fall to 12th. Going into the chicane on Lap 1, someone gets divebombed and nearly spins. Because they can't accelerate, I run into the back of them as I'm anticipating them getting back on the gas again, and I get a 4s penalty. Recovered to 12th.

Slot 2: Qualified 12th. Got 2 separate penalties totaling 3 seconds. Don't remember what they were for aside from being inconsequential contact. Finished 13th.

Slot 3: Qualified 14th. Someone got loose on the exit of the hairpin after 100R, then hit me as they were trying to collect it as I went by. 5s penalty. Finished where I started.

Slot 4: Qualified 14th again. Someone several cars ahead got squeezed on the inside of T3, which caused a chain reaction in which they were hit by the car behind, which was subsequently hit by me (not like I could slow down any sooner as I was already on the brakes and committed to the racing line). Nothing happens to them, but I lose momentum...and get a 2s penalty. I see several more incidents where other cars rear-end people in corners and get absolutely no penalties. Somehow I recovered to 11th (thanks in part to 11th spinning out of the final corner on the last lap). Predictably, the points were awful, but my season was so bad that unfortunately this still ended up being counted as my 4th score...

This was the first time in several weeks that I was actually quick enough to get a result up to my standards, but I couldn't do anything because I was stuck fighting back from last after the opening lap of every single race...not to mention the lack of participation meant I kept getting matched into Top Split.

My first season is gone!
I'm carrying heavy 85 pnt :D , the Toyota big boss will call me for a real racing season (:odd::ouch: )

It was funny drive in thise race! And my target season point of 100 is far but not too far!

My last race was a all-in strategy race. I'm in "B" manner point class... the last nation cup race was a disaster!
I chose a Corvette (i want try an american car for my next manufacturer series). My practice time was pretty good (1.47.4), but my qualifying was the same crazy lap (and I think that CS "B" is very dirty group, the other race I was in "S").

I'll be 13th, a good start I can pass 2 cars. But at the first turn I can not understand why i take 1 second of penalty!
"Ok, try to drive clean" I repeated to myself!

After the first laps I was 18th... But the dirty battle in front of me and a long start stright was a perfect combination to a patient drive...

I have not planned a pit stop, and at lap 7 I'm 4th. But in front of me alla the cars have new tires, and the same the cars after me...
I try to resist, but the last 3 laps my car is drammatically understeering...

At the end I'm 8th!

How do I go about changing livery please, where/how do I get the pre done ones onto PS4?

Use this to find other people’s liveries on your phone or computer.

Pick the car you want the livery for, pick the tag(s) you want (leave a space between tags) and set AND/OR to decide if you only want liveries with all the tags listed, or any livery with at least one of the specified tags.

Click on the livery you want and it will take you to the Gran Turismo website where you can add the livery to your collection if you are logged in.

In game, go to Home, change to the car you want to apply the livery to, then go to Change Livery to find the livery under Collection and apply the new livery.

Hey! Didn’t know or had forgotten you were on here! Great race last night, and your strategy definitely paid off. I could feel my tires melting that last lap. Congrats on the win!

It's really nice when folks get the patience piece -- those 5 laps we took to get away from the field left of us plenty of time to fight it out over the second half of the race, without risking a podium position. Hope to see you on the track again soon.

My final position and points total doesn't look bad for 4 races, but as you can see from my individual scores, to describe my season as "hot and cold" would be a ridiculous understatement. Maggiore and SSRX were both above average results for me, but the rest were incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Even though I gained 16 points last night, I still lost 6 spots in the standings. If I could've gotten my usual 190-200 points in the other races, I'd have roughly 100 more points and be in the Top 30 overall. Overall I'm very annoyed with this Nation's season as a whole.

Nations Cup 2020/21 Exhibition S2

This season went above and beyond my expectations from the very start. My first time actually competing in the Nations Cup series and was only looking to get into the top 140 but somehow managed to make out like a bandit with the points. Made both Top 16 races even if I didn't do so well I'm still happy about that and finally figured out how to drive road cars I'd call this season a success.

Was looking real good to get the #1 spot in Texas until @Winnie847 teammate of mine jumped over me in the final week! Great job

Well, since everyone is starting to post their results...

full

This was my best Nations season so far hands down. First time finishing in the top 100 of North America and close to breaking into the top 50 of the United States too. All of my rounds went smoothly other than the Mini VGT race last week that was ruined by a fool that decided to take me out because of their own poor judgement. (I checked this player's KP profile to see the likelihood of me running into them again in future races and they were hit with a DR reset. Gotta love karma.)

But one of the highlight of this season for me was qualifying pole in the SSRX race. Still trying to wrap my ahead around that one. :boggled:

Not the greatest points haul from an FIA series for me. Dispute a chance for good points in a couple of the combo's, mainly the SF19 race other factors such as not quite getting a good enough qualifying lap or grid starts played against me. I know for next time I need to improve my qualifying performance to put myself in a better position for the race. Aim for next season is top 1000 in EMEA, should be hopefully be doable.

Here are my results. Exhibition seasons make us all look better than we really are. I remember once awhile back I placed 3rd in the USA. LMAO!

Got a win in 2nd split first slot last night and that got rid of my 195 and replaced it with a 256. This is what happens when I practice.

Great season everyone!

If you’re only going to race 4 time, gotta make it worth it, right?

171 at Lago East
203 at SSRX
202 at DTS
190 at Fuji

Nations has been my stronger series the last two seasons. I think some of it is me trying new things in Manu. Gotta stop with that nonsense. Pleased, even if my position is due to indifference by people who are fast, haha.
