Hamlin could have won this race. He was at Logano’s bumper going into the corner and chose to run the wall. Fair play for racing clean, but he might have had a better shot running the bottom.

Great race, glad they are doing it again next year. Hopefully the new cars can put on a show as good or better.

I'm about to fishish work for today and saved the replay for later tonight. How was it?

BTW, it's 1st year ever I actually follow Nascar with real interest. So far I'm having a lot of fun.

Thoughts on the race? I LOL'ed when the two favorites (Larson & Bell) collided, the poor media didn't see neither of their drivers win, such a shame. I just thought it was an OK race overall and slightly overhyped. I don't believe NASCAR needs to return to dirt Bristol next year.

NASCAR is trying everything it can think of to survive financially. The bottom line will tell.

Although the race was terribly hampered by weather, it kept me fairly amused. We saw some odd ducks like Suarez, Wallace and Deegan etc., make an impression they don't normally do. We did get a 7th consecutive new winner for the season. Alas, it was a top dog and not one of the new generation.

I watched it on a live stream at work. Overall it was kind of cool but I'm not happy about it being a points race. Half the people had never raced on dirt in their lives. The ones with a lot of money could pay their way into the other races at the track to get some experience before the Cup race. My big takeaway was the impressive talent level of the Cup series drivers adapting and it not necessarily being a huge advantage to be a "dirt guy". Truex won the Truck race and made them look like amateurs. I knew attrition would be a factor for the Cup race. I've never thought Eldora was a quality race and the racing isn't good IMO. Overall it was ok but something about purpose built pavement racecars all of a sudden throwing dirt tires on and being dirt track racecars wasn't well thought out. More of a gimmick. I'd be open to making races like this All Star Race type expeditions. Race for money but not points.

Agreed

What the hell happened to saurez anyway?

Race was good. The 2nd stage was a little bit slow with all those yellow flags, but it was a very enjoyable race.

If they are seriously thinking about making this a thing from now on, they need to do it in a real dirt track. I can see North Wilkesboro reviving and becoming a dirt track to fulfill this role.

You're not the only one thinking this, though to be honest I can't see anyone stumping up the cash for essentially rebuilding the place from scratch at this point in time. I can't imagine much, if any of the infrastructure left there is very usable anymore, let alone able to be brought up to modern building code after about a quarter century of sitting unmaintained.
