I'm not really buying their "Return to Stock" line, but I'm still interested to see what the new cars look like considering the changes being made.

The Mustang's design will benefit from the most from this, I expect the Camry to look the same-ish and the Camaro will probably be badass as always but also look like what you'd expect.

There's actually footage of reddick chasing the car up into one, guess it'll be pretty hard to drive.

I remember back when Byron spun the car at Fontana he said something about the with the smaller sidewalls that they can’t lean on the tires as much as they can right now.

Surprise! The start to the race was delayed, run for 42 laps, then delayed once again for rain. Now postponed to 4pm tomorrow. Why does it rain every race?

This is why they are testing rain tires at Martinsville for the next-gen cars.

Got home with ~100 laps still on the board, enjoying the racing so far. Larson has been working both Bell and Elliot pretty hard tonight. I'll be very happy if Bubba is able to stay in the Top-10 at the finish.

Edit: Well, schucks. Still a fun race, though, and Truex putting down one of the best burnouts I've ever seen.

Sucks to see the different winner streak end, but Truex certainly earned that win. There’s still quite a few top drivers without wins though so we could still see them break the different winners record.

Worse Danica will be making her Cup debut at Talladega. This can’t possibly end well.

Jenn Jo Cobb isn’t (or wasn’t, since she’s way past her prime now) that bad of a driver. I mean, she’s not good, but she’s at least adequate. At least she has built her own team, even if it is always the slowest (or 2nd slowest after Benning) vehicle on track. But she generally doesn’t crash or get in the way that often, which can’t be said for a lot of the backmarkers in Trucks.

It doesn’t matter who’s in the Rick Ware cars anyway. They’ll lose the draft on lap 1 and you won’t see them again all day.

A decade ago I would’ve joined you in shuddering, but it says a lot about the state of the sport that there’s a lot worse people who could’ve bought that ride for Talladega.

Agreed. Jo Cobb isn't atrocious. She's a backmarker who doesn't wreck.
