When even Fox News is reporting on it...

Potted summary: Republican candidate for SoDak state senate seat grooms, abuses, molests, rapes, tracks and controls girl from the age of 12-18. Girl is family member.

Meanwhile, conservatives showing how much they care about elections free from voter intimidation. Intimidation? What intimidation?

So if their preferred candidate loses, they will now know there was no election fraud!

Just kidding, they will use the info they gathered to hunt down the voters in their mind were "suspicious" and do guerrilla warfare and probably get away with it because the losing candidates will be promoting it.

"Yeah, but both sides..."

Nan Whaley for governor of Ohio and Tim Ryan for federal senate. Let's do the damn thing!

Totally agree. We hire people to do this job right. I can't tell you how many times Colorado or California has asked me about some random tax provision and I dive into the research only to find... gosh this is really complicated... it sure would be nice if it was someone's job to actually sort this stuff out because I literally cannot become enough of an expert in this area in time for the election. Current Colorado Prop 121, which appears on its face to be really simple, is actually quite a bit like that. Diving in only gets you lost.
How much of that is due to TABOR? I read that if the government wants to spend excess revenue in Colorado, the measure must be submitted to the ballot.

Certainly 121 is not coming because of that. TABOR makes analysis of 121 much more complicated though.

Don't want to jinx anything but..

I can't believe how close some of these races are. Conservative voters really don't care about the character of the people they're voting for. They just hate them libruls so much that they'll vote for every obvious fraud, hypocrite, crackpot, bigot, and carpetbagger as long as they have the magical R next to their name.

tbf thinking requires a great deal of effort, so going by magic R is easier

Americans - apparently voting based on gas prices today

Yes, but fortunately independents and women appear to have dealt a significant check on the "Republican wave". If the Democrats manage to hold onto the Senate, I think this could spell the end of Trumpism as a political force in the US.

"The turnout doesn't seem possible"

Republican voting 101 - don't forget to bring your death certificates.

MTG won, which just shows how that region of Georgia either is willfully ignorant or incredibly unintelligent.

On the other hand, Boebert looks like she is about to lose, Mastriano got trounced after trying to bait antisemitism on his opponent, and Kari Lake appears to have lost been decided but we may never know who won since Lake won't say she lost, strange.

They're voting because of the economy and inflation. It's hard to get the average person to care about much when they can't afford groceries. The Democrats have done a terrible job touting any kind of accomplishments and while they have made moves to reduce inflation, they don't really kick in until next year.

Republicans had answers and while those answers are likely not feasible, they're still answers and it is what the struggling person wants to hear. They also saw that their life was better under Trump since prices were low and they could afford things and when Biden got elected everything went up in price. While the president has little bearing on that and there are a million and one reasons why inflation is happening, the average person won't understand this. Hell, I don't even understand all the reasons for inflation and I've actively researched it.

I don't think you can really fault Americans for voting the way they do because they hope things will change. At the end of the day, most Americans just want to live their lives, provide for their family, and not worry about whether or not they can afford rent, groceries, or fuel.

Should people research candidates more? Absolutely, but I would wager a majority of people don't have time or don't care too. You're not going to stop it either unless you restrict who can and cannot vote, which would be worse.

I largely agree with what you wrote, but I think it's a small group in the middle that is doing what you say. Most Americans seem to be in the either deep red or deep blue camps (and I understand that).

....and let's all keep in mind that the house is gerrymandered hard.

Frankly, it's unbelievable. The BBC is reporting that Republicans are making big gains in areas where they have redrawn the districts but reporting it as though... it's normal. They're not drawing attention to it and it's not being condemned or challenged. It stuns me. "Sure, that's fine." Just legalise vote fraud and don't question crooks, fascists and the mentally disturbed who will do anything to get their grubby talons on power.

Well the supreme court (which is biased for the same reason) says it's ok. So it's not really fraud, it's just not representative - which is the point after all. I agree that it should be called out more, but it seems like the news figures it's the equivalent of yelling at the sky.

Trust me it's both. From where I live the shortcut to Atlanta is through her district. Once you enter rural Jackson County, Alabama and then cross the Georgia state line, it's like you've went back in time 100 years. The ratio of confederate flags and trump flags per house is astronomical.

Didn't he say similar about the 2020 elections? The evidence that never existed. What makes him think people will believe him this time round. He has zero credibility now, if he had any in the first place. Grifters gonna grift.
