This safety car wasn't really called for when they can use slow zones.

The 94 just lost 10h of perfect racing.

Those new rules do not promote racing, just managing. They just have to stay in the leader's lap during 23 hours and see what's what in the last hour instead of actually going flat out for 24 hours.
 
I'm pleasantly surprised one of the Peugeots manages to find itself in first a lot. Despite not being as fast, looks like consistency and reliability are getting it there.
Yeah "reliability" hasn't been a word associated Peugeot in the past. I would like to see both of them finish the race. Don't know if they can win or not.

Other than in its five WRC championships (and four for drivers), six Safari Rally wins from 1965-1978, and three Le Mans wins - including being the only non-Volkswagen Group brand to win a race in an 18-race period from 2000-2017. There used to be a saying that only cockroaches and diesel Peugeots (although I think it was French diesels in general) would survive a nuclear apocalypse.


This particular one though is a hell of a surprise. Even with the slightly kind BOP it was hanging early on, and though it was faster than the Ferraris in the damp stuff on slicks it looked like an absolute pig in the corners.

I like that we still don't know who's going to be on the podium even. The only brand with more than one car in the top five is Cadillac (and they were nowhere early on), and I think the #3 has the fastest lap of all...

Although I still think Toyota will overcome the bollocks BOP and win, especially with everything focused on the one car now.
 
Peugeot #94 has major damage to the front end. Trying to drive it back on 3 wheels. 😔
