the lmp2 slowed early for the slow zone, the 7 stopped quick, the GTE car behind couldn't stop in time and smashed into the lmp2 and one of the two smashed into the 7.

Poor 7 caught in other's problem, just like the 51, but the 7 was hit and lost power whereas the 51 simply needed to get out of the gravel.

So far Peugeot is now legitimately in the lead of the race. And at this rate the Porsches will come back into contention.

I guess they will stop using the Slow Zone next edition… this is hectic even at day time it was feeling sort of unsafe but now at night expecting pilot to pay attention to all the lights front sides and back well…

They have a screen in car telling them about yellows and such. And as I was typing this we saw "slow next" in the cockpit of the... LMP2?

Actually the 1st time was the Aston hit the Caddy and then the Ferrari hit the Aston.

The Dunlop bridge slow zone incident? I'll admit I don't remember an Aston involved. But if so the Ferrari still fulfills its annual obligation.

So far enjoying my first Le Mans (go #24). The first 5 hours I was kind of half watching at work. But good lord the safety car procedure needs work. Reading a break down of the rules this year, it sounds like they tried to copy IMSA, but they got a few extra quirks that add large amounts of time to the procedure. So hopefully not too many more of those.

Oh god, safety car. Is it time to go and do something else for an hour? Sort of a shame that the Peugeot will lose all that ground.

Ferrari gets a break from the safety car again. It's really going their way at the moment.

With all the safety car action going at Le Mans, i feel like this edition is going to beat the 2013 edition's record of 5 hours and 27 minutes of the race leader behind the safety car :P

So is the field still behind 3 safety cars or have they merged them together yet? Edit: they are merging now. So now I want to know why we waited 30 minutes to merge them when the track has been clear?

The old safety car rules were not good also. If you were on the wrong place of the track you lost minutes. The biggest problem on the new rule is that the pass-around lasts so long.

To replace a worse procedure with a rule which isn't a bit better can't be the goal.

Especially for us Europeans the new rule isn't familar.
