Sean Creech Motorsport goes LMP2 for 2024, with Inter Europal considering a full season entry as well.

This part caught my attention:

Wondering where those particular crew members came from, only one that comes to mind seeing as they are based in Florida is Spirit of Daytona.

***Questions surrounding Meyer Shank Racing’s future involvement with Acura in the WeatherTech Championship have continued to intensify in recent weeks, with news that lead engineer Gary Davies is seeking new employment beginning in December.

***Davies replaced Ryan McCarthy as race engineer beginning at Sebring after McCarthy was indefinitely suspended by IMSA as part of the penalties issued against the Ohio-based team from its tire manipulations in the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

***MSR, which is poised to promote Tom Blomqvist into an IndyCar seat next year, is at the end of its current contract with Acura, whereas fellow works outfit Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport has already confirmed a contract extension and expansion to two Acura ARX-06s for next year.

***When reached by Sportscar365, Acura Motorsports manager Chuck Schifsky said that there is “nothing to share” regarding Acura’s 2024 IMSA plans at the moment.

I wonder what number the 60 car will be at WTR Andretti next year?

Interesting calendar for sure... I personally dislike city courses (yes, that includes icons like Long Beach or Monte Carlo, too), so not particularly happy about Detroit being included while not having Mid-Ohio and Lime Rock. Jury is still out for me on Indy, we'll see what it brings later this year, although I'm also in the camp for "MEC in Road America".

Also, what happened to "no more clashes"?? N24, Spa 24, 3 WEC rounds...

Well I sure am glad I went to Mosport this year then if there's no GTP coming up north next year...

Detroit was always going to happen (GM) and the P2 cars will be very fast at Mosport. MPC will have a 4hr race at Mid Ohio and the P3 cars will have round there too so they arent abandoning the market entirely.

Derani put the 31 Cadillac on pole Saturday and then Sims stuffed it into the wall around turn 12-13 in the morning warm-up with less than 2 hrs before the race starts. If they dont make the starting grid they lose their spot and points for pole. It sounds like the rear end and gearbox are ready to be changed.

Edit: Car is fixed and will start from the rear of prototype field and have a drive thru penalty.

31 wont have a drive thru after all and the 25 BMW went off on the pace lap, so they will start- somewhere?

and the 25 is now done for good.

Just going back to the 2024 calendar, as I mentioned, I'd have preferred Mid-Ohio getting WSC instead of Detroit but it is what it is. Nevertheless, I decided that after living for over 15 years in the US the time has truly come for me to go to a race weekend. I wanted to visit the Tricky Triangle and watch some NASCAR action but worked on that weekend, so took the next logical step: as soon as the new IMSA calendar appeared, I booked 2 hotel rooms close to Mid-Ohio for next year. Sure, not gonna be WSC but at least a 4h MPC enduro, VP Sportscar Challenge, MX-5s and Mustangs with V8 and stick shift, I think it's gonna be a good first event.

Jordan Taylor is back on the family team. I'm honestly surprised as I figured he would be the core of the Corvette factory lineup.

Aitkin promoted to full season driver for the 31 Cadillac for next year, while Sims moves back to Corvette. Tommy Milner will also return to a full season drive for Corvette.

Another sign that MSR won't be doing GTP with Acura next year

Meyer Shank Racing’s 2024 IMSA GTP prospects became a topic of discussion in sportscar racing circles yesterday, following a comment from HPD President David Salters in the wake of the Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport’s driver announcement.

Salters expressed his excitement for the 2024 season, which will see WTR expand its GTP effort to two cars with Acura.

“I’m stoked to see we (HPD/WRT Andretti) have a super strong driver line-up across both our electrified Acura hypercars,” he said. The phraseology within that line clearly suggests there will be only two ARX-06s on the IMSA WeatherTech entry next year, both run by Wayne Taylor’s team.

Josef Newgarden will be in a Penske 963 at Petite Lemans.

I hope this means he'll get a Daytona and Lemans 24 hrs seat in the same car next year as well

I'll be attending the IMSA race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend. This will be my first IMSA race as a fan; I've been to others when they've shared weekends with INDYCAR but I was preoccupied with my work.

Any must-sees? How can I maximize this? I'll be going with my father who is also attending for the first time.

Sounding awfully conspiracy theory there considering the Porsches were instructed to pass the lapped cars and did not.
