Justin Haley and Corey Lajoie to swap rides mid-season at Kansas.

The Haley move is also for 2025, while the 2025 fate of the 51 and LaJoie is still up in the air. There also was apparently a lawsuit between Todd Braun (Haley's uncle/money-man) and RWR that was dismissed this morning over Haley's pending departure from RWR.

Ty Dillon will be back in Cup next year, driving the #10 (ex-#31) Kaulig entry currently filled by Daniel Hemric.

Meanwhile, on the track, another Kansas race, another Christopher Bell pole. That makes 3 in a row. As for the driver swap, Haley's going off 23rd (worst of the Spire drivers) and LaJoie's going off 27th (the better of the RWR drivers).

RWR doesn't really have a 2nd driver of any substance, so if he was worse than the driver of the 15, it would make sense that he doesn't have a ride in 2025.

I don't think Hamlin or Reddick will be making the Round of 8, and I know whose cars will be going back to Concord in the NASCAR hauler the next 6 races.

After reading through the initial filing (via the NBC Sports story linked to in the latter X), a few observations:

• The France empire is in serious trouble, between the allegations and the fact that 23XI/FRM is represented by the team that broke both the NCAA and the US soccer federation
• The NextGen cars, even though teams spend millions to build them, are property of NASCAR, not the teams
• Even the tracks the Frances don't own are prohibited from running any other stock car races
• The prohibition on owning stock car teams outside the France empire has been expanded to owning any racing team outside the France empire (fortunately for Penske and Roush, their NASCAR operations are already a separate legal entity)
• The take-it-or-leave final "offer" from France, which came in at over 100 pages, originally had a 1-hour sign-it deadline, "generously" extended to 7 hours

Another (ex-)plate track, another pole at Talladega for Michael McDowell, as he grabbed his 5th straight superspeedway (Daytona/Talladega/Atlanta) pole. He likely will have teammate Todd Gilliland pushing him from 3rd, while Austin Cindric completes the front row. Fords will make up 6 of the top 10 spots (Ryan Blaney in 5th, Joey Logano in 6th, Harrison Burton in 9th), with Kyle Busch the top Chevy in 4th and Denny Hamlin the top Toyota in 8th. The rest of the playoff drivers are Chase Elliot in 11th, Kyle Larson in 12th, Tyler Reddick in 14th, William Byron in 16th, Christopher Bell in 21st, Alex Bowman in 23rd, Daniel Suarez in 31st and Chase Briscoe in 36th.

Meanwhile, Xfinity playoff driver Sam Mayer had his 16th-place finish taken away for having the rear of his car too low in post-race inspection. That moves him from 7th and 7 points to the good of AJ Allmendinger to 11th and 13 points behind Allmendinger with 1 race to the Round of 8 cutoff, while the #1 moves from 8th (and the same 7 points to the good of the #16) to 11th (and the same 13 points behind).

Yep, lifting off the gas. Sometimes it involves adding a little brake, as well.
