Another reason I absolutely hate this playoff system: more potential shenanigans. Bubba may have deliberately let Bell pass and then Ball did a Chastain. Then you have two Chevys behind Byron going side by side but made no real effort to pass.

Just dsq both of them and have the 12, 22 and 45 race for the title. Warn drivers that these types of moves will result in heavy fines and suspensions.

Bell didn't need to ride the wall, he was getting the place anyway with the race manipulation from Toyota/Bubba.

Byron doesn't deserve to be in the final 4 either with the manipulation from Dillon and Chastain to help their Chevrolet mate, this should be a 3 car finale.

I'm sure we'll here more on this throughout the week...

At least the Chevrolets made it look like they were racing the 24. Ish. The Toyotas were too obvious in their devious schemes.

This is probably the dumbest playoffs since inception. From
Logano being eliminated to in and the Toyotagate/Chevygate we witnessed today. This format forces people to make terrible decisions.

I see that more as Bowman being in to eliminated as it was their (Hendrick's) fault and Logano didn't do anything untoward.

Just a little nit pick I have with that scenario. ;)

Yeah, that was poor form all round. At least Ryan Blaney made it in legitimately today.

I love how for like five seconds during the waiting period, they attempted to cut to Larson who literally went

"Peace out, I'll see ya'll at Indy in May. 🤞"

The way I view it is that both sides had performed race manipulative moves. Byron with both the 1 and the 3 not passing him, and Bell for Wallace slowing down to let the 20 pass him. Those two actions offset. However, Bell then riding the wall (debatable if it was a true wall-ride from first glance but I thought I saw someone mention he accelerated while still on the wall) gives the 20 team a second action that tips the scales against him. He probably didn't need to ride the wall either, as he wasn't in danger of losing a spot once he got by the 23.
