"So you have millions of gallons of water pouring down from the north, with the snow caps and Canada and all pouring down and they have an, essentially, a very large faucet. You turn the faucet on – and it takes one day to turn – it’s massive, it’s as big as the wall of that building right there."

I probably don't need to add that he also said "you'll have more water than you ever saw" and "more water than anyone ever had" and "more water than you can believe", and blamed the Democrat governor and illegal immigrants "coming in and killing your family".

If Living Colour wrote their hit song today, he'd probably be in too.
There was a while where any time some Trump supporter was being particularly sycophantic, I would post a link to the Cult Of Personality video.

Trump refers to non-existent debate audience going crazy.

When Biden did this kind of thing*, it was a big deal.

*by that I mean having a senior moment and appearing confused about what happened

The invisible crowd went wild. Also it was intangible.

Maybe that's where he was getting his numbers from. He had "concepts" of a crowd. "72%, 90% to 2, 385%, eleventy eight percent"

I've read a lot of national-news headlights about the guy but we don't know the local reaction at all. Unfortunately, most local newspapers in the country are based in cities and lean liberal. This Winston-Salem paper writes about his recent remarks in a level-headed tone, however I can't fathom the willpower of that woman to write this way about something so profound. According to this local Fox station, the guy rarely agrees to interviews so I highly doubt he agrees with freedom of the press, although he obviously favors his own freedom of speech. He's called reporters "shameful" for asking about his remarks. He offers no defense that he actually said them.

Basically he's an asshole and I can only assume literally everybody in Roy Cooper's administration is tired of his ass. Strange how NC has a totally reasonable D governor but a mentally ill R Lt. Governor. No way this guy actually wins.

Edit: In Ohio, Governor and Lt. are elected on the same ticket. In NC, they're elected separately.
If he wasn't gonna win before, this story might just be nail in the coffin.

Brace yourselves.
Mark Robinson, the controversial and socially conservative Republican nominee for governor of North Carolina, made a series of inflammatory comments on a pornography website’s message board more than a decade ago, in which he referred to himself as a “black NAZI!” and expressed support for reinstating slavery, a CNN KFile investigation found.

Its both depressing and sad that we have a "top 10" of most deplorable/ridiculous elected officials and almost all of them are from a "Grand Old" party.

The GOP has no shame. Headlines right now are that he's staying in the race. George Santos kept trying LONG after it was time to resign. Obviously Trump his more than 4 years past that point as well. All that happened to Biden was that he looked old, and for that he was willing to resign for the good of the people. What is wrong with these "weird" people.

I've seen a few people glad he's staying in b/c he could sink North Carolina across the board for Republicans including Trump.

Furthermore, folks are wondering how Trump's team will respond considering he said Robinson was better than MLK. JD was apparently asked and quickly walked through a door with his team.

I admit, I had that thought as well. Normally my line of thinking is that scumbags should just exit the race, even if it means that a stronger candidate replaces them. As long as the stronger candidate is less of a scumbag, that's good. Because there's always the chance that the scumbag wins.

In this case, the scumbag winning NC is so much less worrying to me than the scumbag winning the presidency that the risk might be worth it.

If I caught the polls correctly, the comforting news may be that Robinson is still behind Stein by a minimum of +5. This story could alter that significantly... hopefully.

Oh so it's bad bad.
