I just finished watching the race. I was hoping for Audi to win, so it was good to see the Peugeots dropping out one by one. When the Oreca was chasing the #7 Audi, I was cheering for him to go faster.

In terms of GT2, I was rooting for the 'Vettes. I had a bad feeling once the 63 dropped out since there would be no backup. Though I guess my second favorite to win it was a Porsche or even a Spyker. I couldn't stand to see Risi win another year.

Any one else sad to see GT1 die.

Yea I am kinda sad to see it die. Sure the fields haven't been great and after this last Le Mans with only 3 cars finishing the teams haven't been the greatest, but some great battles happened in that class. Namely the Corvettes vs Ferraris and Vettes vs Astons. Change is needed though to keep the sport fresh and alive and sadly GT1 just wont survive if left on life support.

I think the new combined GT class is a good idea seeing as the GT2 field has been highly competitive this year at least in the ALMS. I must admit after watching the Laguna Seca race and seeing all of the cars being highly competitive and some extremely close racing for the whole 6 hours i was expecting a little more at Le Mans but it seems like only Risi and P&M were able to hold the pace they showed at Seca. And with the class being cheaper to develop for im sure we will see teams like JLOC entering a Lambo in the GT2 field if they decide to stick with there Le Mans program and being in the AM class they could actually stand a chance at fighting for a podium (that is if they will let them enter the AM class with a new GT2 Lambo, god knows the team wouldn't be competitive in the Pro class).

Sure its sad to see GT1 go but I think it will be good for the sport.

Yeah, seems most GT drivers feel that way too. I'm wondering how they'll sort out proto2 now. I Sorta like the lmpc class in alms.👍 Is Lemans too exlusive for a 'spec' class I wonder?

I just finally got done watching my recordings of the race. I watched every second of this race. I can say, I've never seen anybody so STUPID as Anthony Davidson. He's also an enormous prick.

Great race. A shame what happened to the 64. Fitting what happened to the Poo-Joes.

If you are referring to his interview after he got out of the car then I fully agree with you. 👍

If you are referring to a Corvette driver who was 100% responsible for losing the back end of his own car then I'd take the Corvette blinkers off if I was you. 👎

The back end of the car went away because he was forced onto the "dirty" line of the track and forced to back out of the throttle. Closing the throttle unloads the rear end, and dirty line loses grip. Car spins. He was put there by Davidson forcing his way through. Sure, there was no contact, but that's because the Corvette did what he could to get out of the way on a 1-line section of the track. He was completely defensive, and there was no legitimate reason for him to be forced into that. When at the limit, there is no "Well, go this way instead." He was going through the curve at his limit and had nothing left for maneuvering, yet was forced to try.

Saying the Corvette was 100% responsible for the result is like saying the Audi is 100% responsible for his off when coming up on the BMW art car which drifted into the line the Audi had committed to.

If you're forced off your line while at the limit, the car is going to do bad things. If you have "extra" grip left for defensive maneuvering then you're not driving fast enough to win.

Recived an e-mail today from Radio Le Mans, should be a good show, if Hindys calmed down. :)

Subject: Midweek Motorsport is ON this Week at the Normal time
Contrary to what was said a couple of weeks ago, there will be a Midweek Motorsport this Wednesday (tomorrow) at 8pm UK (9 pm Europe, 3pm Eastern and midday Pacific)

There is so much to talk about in the aftermath of Le Mans (and the Canadian GP) - where we seemed to be making the news as well as reporting it - that we had to do a show!

Please tell all your motorsport friends, if all goes to plan I guarantee that this one will be unmissable!

Though if you do mss it it will be on a podcast!!!!

Hindaugh and Davidsons have a nice chat.

EDIT, just to add the Radio Le Mans commentary of Hindy's rant is MIA, I guess it's being edited :(

Noticed that some of you was curious about my GT2 DQ sayings. Here´s the deal; As of now it seems that the results are provisional, and may or may not stand as final. Nothing official from ACO, so noone knows. We´ll just have to wait and see for an official statement from ACO.

Maybe it was stupid of me to say anything in the first place, as there is no true source for this, except someone at ten-tenths. They are however usually trustworthy at that site with lots of inside information - the other posters don´t doubt the threadstarter, and some of the posters also seem to have known about the subject.

Thanks for clearing that up Mt. Lynx

Recived yet another e-mail from Radio Le Mans, and this sould be really good :)

Subject: Star Guest on MWM this week
It has now been confirmed that Anthony Davidson will be exclusively talking to John and I on the show tomorrow!

Should be a cracker!!

Haha! Hmmm...I await this one with interest!

In other news, are all the diesels at Le Mans illegal under the ACO's own regulations?

A protest from Aston might be amusing...

Hmmm...they mentioned it on RLM early in the morning on Sunday, and said it was kinda churlish, but at the same time I thought it was interesting...because some of those clouds of smoke look big enough to be of a problem for someone directly behind the car. It's hardly the same kind of smoke as a fire or a tyre going down, but still, it is a pretty sizeable cloud of smoke...I thought the diesels had systems to prevent that? Some of those pictures make the cars look like a knackered old diesel Skoda pulling away on the motorway!

I doubt anything will come of it, the ACO have a massive fascination with diesels as it is, but I ponder if Aston and some other teams may decide to lodge a quiet protest, a sort of 'ahem, you might want to look at this...'

I saw them smoke. I always though they were rather clean, I honestly expected worst when this Diesel era started.

But if the objective (rule) is no visible black smoke, then they broke it...

If the diesels are excluded that would make the #009's retirement even more upsetting.
